  1. slowly working through my stash of disposables with insert pads from day use that I have acquired for night use, and than will be back to cloth again unless wife objects to the extra laundry cycles each week- in any case, can't go without diapers when going to bed!
  2. I have learned that for night time use, the only method that is guaranteed to not leak is a combination of a good snug waterproof pant over my diaper to keep it in place, followed by a bloomer style over that that goes from my mid thigh to well above my diapers for someone like me that rolls around through the night, from side to side!
  3. My wife has been aware of my wetting issues for as long as they have existed, from the issues I had while still at work traveling, to the first night I actually wet our bed to the issues after my prostrate surgery's. She supported me by suggesting wearing pullups, larger pads during the day, and after the wet bed event, better protection at night. It started with waterproof pants, and soon moved up to better diapers at night. After my last prostrate procedure, when wetting was much heaver, we agreed that I should try cloth overnight diapers, and we have. I did get used to the routine of using and caring for the cloth diapers, but after a vacation cruise where I used some really thick overnight pullups, see suggested we try to use up all the protection products I had accumulated, prior to going back to the several times laundry required for the cloth diapers. That is where we are now, I am layering disposable products for overnight, starting with the large pads I use during the day if they aren't too used by than. I probably have about a month worth of these disposable diapers to use up before going back into cloth on a permeant basis overnight, something she is not real excited about, but understands it saves us at least $40/ month if you don't count the energy and detergent cost for the laundry, but they are a bit more difficult to get into, and she is not interested in helping at this point. I can live with that as long as I can manage on my own, and my loving wife continues to accept me for who I am!
  4. For me its always been about how do I keep my wife happy. From that first night years ago, when I woke up in the middle of the night with wet sheets, its been a journey to keep her happy. I have tried many different things for night time use, yes I do have Enuresis, it is in my medical file as well, so I wake up almost every morning wearing wet diapers. But I have learned what it takes to keep the sheets dry, so the wife is happy.
  5. I have been diagnosed with OAB back 10 or 12 years ago already. I was told back then that my pre diabetes would worsen this problem, and since that turned into diabetes, I have little feeling left when I start to void, so during the day, as I feel my bladder fill, I head to a toilet where I settle down to empty my bladder-standing is out of the question unless I want wet pants from my slow stream. I also have Enuresis on my chart as doctors know that I wet freely at night. Since that time, I have had two prostrate reduction surgery's, worked with two urologists, had a multitude of "bed wetter's" medications with little success other than dry mouth and upset stomach and headaches, and have resolved by my self to simply use protection, heavy pads during the day, and diapers with good covers for sleeping in at night. I will say that 6-8 months after my last prostrate surgery, I do have better capacity in my bladder during the day, but if I want to sleep through the night and keep the bed dry, diapers are needed. While my stream has improved after last surgery, the feeling when it starts and stops is still none existent so I am still sitting to urinate. As I am now well into my seventh decade, I have no desire to try other things again, as am content with the solutions I have found after all these years. So yes, count me as happy to use diapers and pads for my issues!
  6. Am wondering if our astronauts brough along enough space suite diapers to last the whole 10 days in diapers, as without a working toilet now, what better choice do they have. I have read that they can do their pee pees in a bag, but not the other more stinky kind, so guess the only solution is the space suite diapers, so hope the cupboard is well stocked?
  7. I have had a history of OAB going back to my fifth decade. I had several issues with UTI's that caused accidents while I was still working and traveling, which lead to using good protection while traveling since and pads in between. My first prostrate procedure was about 9 years ago, and that kept me in diapers for about a month. Since that time, my night time continence started to slip as well, with first real bedwetting after an evening of drinking a bit too much. I promised wife that I would take precautions at night to avoid any more wet sheets, and that made me a diaper user from that point forward, although most nights were dry. Fast forward to my early 70's and another prostrate procedure, this one much more dramatic with removal of more than half of my tissue, and that put me into diapers during the day for about 5 mos, and much better night time protection, moving me to thick overnight cloth diapers. So here I am, mid 70's and diapered every night, wearing heavy pads during the day when I can find a toilet close enough to use within 10 minutes as need arises . I still consider myself lucky as know of many others with bigger problems than I have!
  8. I have found that with the proper diaper covers, you can really soak your diapers in bed and still keep the bed dry. This winter we went on a nice vacation and I had to buy some overnight pullups to use as it was not convenient to be taking my cloth diapers with. I got several different types to try prior to for capacity. I settled on one for the trip. I managed by getting up several times a night to be safe, and getting through the time with a dry bed, and much lost sleep. After returning, I still had most of the pullups left over, and have since been using these with my day pad added for overnight. While these are always soaked in the morning, my bed has been dry since I started to use two diaper covers, a good snug waterproof pant over my diaper package, and a bloomer style over that, something that is high on my waist and almost to my knees as insurance, and it has never failed to keep my bed dry, no matter the condition of my absorption package. I did learn that one of my diaper covers, with side snaps, leaked into my bloomers, but they still kept the bed dry. Those side snap pants are history now though.
  9. I can attest to the "comfort level" of being well padded at night, to the point you are not concerned about leaking. In my case, coming off a vacation where I was using just overnight pullups and getting out of bed a couple times a night to pee, it took a while again once home to feel comfortable enough to sleep through the night. Now again I only get up in the morning and even as my overnight diapers are always wet, I am getting a much better night long sleep, and only notice wetting about the time I am rolling over to get up. Of course I am already wet by that time, so yes your comfort level of protection does impact your sleep wetting!
  10. I started to read this just recently, and just got caught up. It is a good well written story about someone who really belongs in diapers for many reasons. It seems to be going off in a new direction now, which is maybe not as good. I was hoping to see his wife cuckhold him a bit more, but still be there for him. I would also like to see more of a day care provider be brought into his new home in the new location, someone to keep him in diapers during the day, and push him more into a child like daily life, but still have his wife use him for her pleasures at night. Will be watching for updates!!
  11. If using pullups at night, I would certainly add a good pair of waterproof pants as insurance to leaks while sleeping
  12. What started out as a bookstore, but added a little coffee nook with some sweets, is a lot different than a street side coffee shop for customers walking by. Once you have a captive audience inside with seating and are serving drinks and snacks, a need for a bathroom certainly exists. Granted it may suffice to have a single small unisex area, but it still is a requirement not to avoid.
  13. Last year in November, I wrote about the MRI I needed and the medical history I have of being IC. After thinking about this since that time, it dawned on me that the nurse told me to keep my pants on during the procedure out of suspicions it would help me to hold my urine, as opposed to simply putting me into the machine under the sheet I had over my self, and over the chux pad she had under me? I did tell her that I did not have an extra pair of pants with me, and I may not be able to keep from wetting if more than an hour. Well that test went for 1hr, 20 minutes and I did keep from wetting myself out of fear that my pants would show a leak, as pullups are not that great in keeping a bed dry when sleeping for sure, and I was desperate for the bathroom when the test was finally over. These older nurses have certainly seen it all, and know of a few tricks that they use without our thinking about it at the time!
  14. Some people will never accept others that NEED to wear diapers. Some probably still believe the world is flat? To say it is not manly to wear a diaper if needed is akin to saying it is not manly to use crutches if you leg or foot is broken. Last year I had major surgery done on my prostrate, and I NEEDED diapers for about 4mos as a result. As things returned to normal, I graduated to pullups and than to heavy pads for the day, but still wear diapers at night, to avoid extra bedding laundry, and to keep my wife happy. Yes, I still consider myself a man. I don't advocate my need for protection, but neither do a lot of the older folks on my weekly bowling teams that are wearing protection as well, as it is a senior league and that is more common than many suspect. So to anyone that suggests it is not manly to have to use diapers to go about daily activities, I say you are the child in this situation, not the person that is proving to be adult in dealing with a medical condition!
  15. Some of the other brands are catching up, as I checked out a couple for my last weeks vacation about a month ago and found that the overnight heavy wetting version of Tena and Depends pullups are not that bad either.
