My medical records spell out that I've got overactive bladder due to neurogenic bladder dysfunction, and muscarinic receptor antagonists just don't sit well with me. This means I'm dealing with urinary incontinence and urgency pretty much all the time. To get some support from our public health program, my urologist has to update my medical report every three months. It's to confirm that meds aren't really helping, and I'm facing a lot of side effects. So, he notes down that I'm on adult diapers, using about 10 a day, which adds up to 150 a month. I got onto this diaper assistance program early in 2023, after my urologist pinpointed it was a neurological issue and that meds were a no-go. Just thought I'd put it out there, especially since it's not something we often talk about. It's been quite the ride.

When I started dealing with incontinence, I never imagined stuff like accidentally wetting myself in front of my mom or coworkers. Losing control really sucked the fun out of everything. I ended up feeling pretty down and started keeping to myself. It took me almost 2 years to come to terms with it, especially after realizing it wasn't my fault. I used to think it was because I’d been wetting myself on purpose every day since kindergarten. What really bugs me, though, is sometimes those spasms can be super painful.

I always wake up two or three times every night because of bladder spasms. I wish I could pee through the night like you guys, without knowing or waking up, so I could get a restful sleep. Because of the overactive bladder I've had since I was a kid, I've never had that experience. Same! Leaks don't bother me either, in fact I feel proud when I leak because I like the smell of the sheets in the next night. My maid change my sheets only once in the week, at Fridays
