So about a year ago now i decided to quit porn. I feel like it never brought anything good to my life. Porn is addictive and harmful on the brain. But then i see this site, and suddenly porn is the norm. All the ads are just porn. I guess i'm just surprised. Is porn really the norm, and are there anyone who watches porn and doesn't want to quit?

Porn is good for the soul

ehhh, i know someone who says otherwise, he came to reside with us 2000 years ago.

i try to not look at it, but its  not easy, curiosity sometimes gets the best of me, and sometimes when i dont look i get disgusting story ideas in my head that, if there was a means could be made into porn videos, i thank God no one will read them. you are right, porn never brings anything good into ones life, all it does is take away.

I don't know if Jesus ever talked about porn... If he did then I think he was ill-informed... You know, he may have seen no good in some ancient drawing of two half-naked people in his time but he didn't get to see "latex clad domme milks human-puppy slut with prostate massager and milking machine" and if he did I think he would have a very different opinion. It would be like me watching the first silent movies and seeing no future in the medium.

In all seriousness, I think people CAN get addicted to porn and if that happens then it is a problem. However 99% of people who watch porn do so sparingly when taking part in "certain activities" and I see no issue with that at all. It's very much a personal thing, some people have higher sex drives than others, etc.

But I don't buy into the weirdly puritan argument that porn is inherently bad. It definitely isn't.

If he did, I know what he'd say

"Get thee behind me Satan: So I can get a better look. I GOTTA see this one"

Or maybe to Mary Magdelen "Go thee and do likewise"

Or "The road to Hell is wide and many there are that walk thereon. Hey! Wait for ME!"

Or maybe just "OMFG!! And I oughta know"

The short answers are "yes" and "yes". 😅

The longer answers: Porn is like any other pleasure--it only becomes a problem when it dominates your life. For me, I grew up in a very unhealthy puritan culture that messed me up bad. And it's only once I started delving into the spicier side of the internet that I was able to start working through those things. So in a way, porn was actually *healing* for me. 😅

Only you can judge whether something is good for your life or not. You say you quit porn a while back, so I assume you felt it had become an unhealthy obsession. In which case, I'm glad you were able to break out of that cycle. 😊 Just remember that not *everyone* struggles with it the way you did. For some, a little porn can actually be a good thing. For others, not so much. It's up to you to decide which category you fall into.

Without passing a value judgment on anyone who consumes porn, I'll leave this here. Internet porn is more available, more quantity, and more tailored than ever before. Occasional porn use can be OK but porn addiction is a real thing and has actual health consequences.

and another one that can help illuminate the situation

But if he's omniscient, hasn't he seen it all?

I definitely think porn addiction is a thing, and too much porn (like many other things in life) isn't healthy.  There's a saying- all good things in moderation.  If it starts to take over and interfere with one's life then I'd say it's a problem for them. But for those who want to indulge in it here and there- it's up for them to decide the amount that's right for them.

I've heard theories that Jesus spent a lot of in Sepphoris, which was a Roman city near Nazareth.  It's safe to say there were houses of ill repute in Sepphoris, and Jesus would know about them.  That's kind of a first century form of porn

I don't believe porn, in moderation, is bad, but like everything, it can be bad when it is abused.

The ancients were just as sexual and dirty-minded as people today. I think they just didn't have as many means of viewing it as we do today- no internet, no video, no photographs. But they did have art- everything from sexual illustrations in dynastic China of women with bound feet to ancient Egyptian graffiti, the 18th dynasty (New Kingdom) of the female pharaoh Hatshepsut getting down and dirty with her boy-toy/ lover Senenmut.

Roman graffiti was very sexual and NSFW.

Where can I find this porn you speak of ? All I get are ads for adult diapers and stuff directly related to it. I have no idea why.

As for the opening question. I do enjoy porn but it is something that can just as easily be avoided if I'm not interested. I find that the really obnoxious advertisements (for porn and other stuff) are usually found on sites that you would do well to avoid in the first place.

I think unobtrusive advertisements that are at least related to the theme of the site you're browsing is as good as it gets other than having no advertisements at all.

Porn is the result of a lack of natural (sexual) interaction between a real man and a real woman. It is not an addiction, it is a very poor and sad substitute for something magical that every man or woman longs for. The same goes for fetishes.

We as a society have become extremely confused. Masculinity is seen as inappropriate dominant behavior, women have to compete with men in the job market, we now have all kinds of genders and here I am incontinent in a diaper. Wow, I think we've reached a new peak in human civilization.

Only when we stop choosing digital interaction over physical interaction, only when we choose cooperation over division, only when we start loving each other instead of competing with each other, will we see porn and fetishes for what they are. Sad coping mechanisms in a fake world that has no place for powerful and magical human connectivity.

pornography is very objective based for me

i used to be addicted, to a point where i neglected self care and responsibilities

now days, on the odd occasion i get aroused, i'll pull up some videos, get my jollies then move on with life

recently, i've been trying to substitute pornography with self written erotica, but i am a very poor writer. and a very picky consumer.

when i had an SO, i still consumed pornography as we didn't live together and i cant control when i get aroused.

i think it's a healthy thing to do to fulfill sexual impulses, as long as it doesn't interfere with life. like any other hobby really.

If you're surprised by the prevalence of porn and the overwhelming ads, it's worth noting that the adult industry has a significant online presence. But remember, JacobHazel, you have the power to control what you consume and what influences you allow in your life. If you're looking for alternative experiences or exploring adult content in a different way, you might want to check out https://phima1.xyz/phim-sex-viet-nam/. They offer a diverse collection of Asian porn videos that might cater to your desires, should you choose to explore.Ultimately, whether one wants to quit or continue watching porn is a personal decision. What matters is that you prioritize your well-being and make choices that align with your values.
