  1. Thanks for your quick reply @Reddy! So here's what I think is going on with the incontinence after the surgery. Of course the sphincters have lost their ability to close the urethra whenever urine starts reaching the bladder neck. But I think the surgery also disables the detrusor, which to my knowledge activates the smooth muscles of the bladder wall when it needs to contract. That detrusor no longer works after the surgery. Therefor, if the bladder passes a certain level of filling it starts sagging or tilting over the bladder neck due to the lack of muscle tone. I believe this causes some sort of obstruction near or in the bladder neck. Only when high pressure is exerted on the bladder will this obstruction be relieved. This would explain why you hardly ever wet the bed and why you can still go to the toilet with a full bladder after sitting on a chair for a long time. Also the lack of feeling the need to pee points in the same direction of no longer having a working detrusor. It also explains why I still have bladder contractions using a stent. I do pee large amounts in my diaper when sitting in a chair for a long time or when lying in bed. My detrusor still works.
  2. Thanks @Reddy for answering some of my questions. I have a few more that may be relevant to anyone considering having the surgery themselves. I hope you are willing to answer them as well. If so, thanks in advance. 1) How is the incontinence in bed, any changes since your last update on it? Does it affect your sleep in a negative way? 2) As a stent user I am glad I can feel the pee running through the last part of my urethra; It adds to the experience of being incontinent. Do you also feel the pee running through the sphincters and the prostate? 3) Does your bladder still contract to empty itself when it reaches a certain level of filling? For example, when you sit on a chair for a long time or when you lie on your stomach in bed? I hope you will fully recover from your problems with orgasms. It must be frustrating to have less of a climax/discharge than you used to have.
  3. @Reddy Wouldn't it be better if you moved to the other forum "incontinence-medical"? You clearly seem to have serious mental problems because of your incontinence. The way you complain about the "logical" consequences of incontinence has nothing to do with the incontinence desires you first said you had. How that changed so radically is still a mystery to me. You seem to want to avoid my questions about it. Not once have you written about how great it is to have to wear diapers now. Did you make the wrong decision or are you trolling us? Are you serious? You chose to have a life-changing surgery, paid maybe $30,000 for it, and now you think it's not fair that you have to change your life. Unbelievable.
  4. Perhaps there is one additional criterion to check before opting for incontinence surgery: Do you like being embarrassed or do you enjoy public humiliation?
  5. That is the one thing a stent will never give me. The way you describe your incontinence is exactly the same as my incontinence with a stent. In that respect, the results of the surgery would not surprise me at all. But the realization that there will never be a time when I am not incontinent. That I will wear diapers for the rest of my life. No stent to remove when it becomes inconvenient, boring, embarrassing or even painful. Scary and wonderful at the same time. Thanks for sharing.
  6. If I don't feel like doing anything weird to keep my diapers out of sight, I just go to the gym in my workout gear with a clean diaper underneath. I do my workouts, go home, shower, put on a clean diaper, and enjoy the rest of my day. Do you enjoy it? Is it what you expected it to be? And how is the incontinence in bed, any changes since your last update? What problems do you have with your orgasms?
  7. The longest I have used a stent without cleaning was about a month. With regular cleaning in between I have been able to wear a stent for about 6 months continuously, but that was only once as a kind of test to see if I wanted permanent incontinence. Which was not the case. I always stop using stents when the incontinence is no longer exciting. Usually that is after 3-4 days As I and others have said before, the chance of incontinence from long term stent use is zero. The sphincters will not atrophy and the urethra will not remain open after removal of the stent.
  8. Yeah, it is really frustrating that English is not my first language. Sorry. Can you blow air through the stent easily? If so it is not the diameter that is the problem. The persistent dripping sounds promising, but the build-up in the bladder and the fact that you only urinate under pressure makes me suspect that the opening at the top of the stent still reaches too far into the bladder.
  9. I only do that at the bottom of the stent. I don't punch extra holes there. The flow only improves because the inner diameter of the frame is larger than the inner diameter of the double layer of silicone.
  10. I just make sure I punch the holes in a place where they will never touch the bladder tissue. Check out my album "How I make my stent".
  11. Here are some pics of my 6 months old stent on graph paper with each square measuring 5 by 5 millimeters. Please pay particular attention to the twisting of the top of the stent relative to the bottom. This helps prevent the stent from sliding out of the bladder.
  12. @BrownBobby, who is now completely incontinent after his surgery in Mexico, also barely pees in his diaper when he is in bed. So it has nothing to do with the stent. Especially because with my stent I do pee uncontrollably in a lying position. And yes, a Foley catheter with a collection bag continues to drain in the supine position, clearly demonstrating that the resistance of the closed urethra, amplified by the pressure of the diaper and mattress, must be the cause of not draining well with a stent.
  13. @SparganoLooking at the size of the stent compared to your hand it looks as if all parts of it are a bit too long. Of course I could be wrong, as I don't know your hand and body sizes... But if it was my hand holding that stent I am sure it wouldn't work the way I want it to work. I am 6 ft tall and size large for gloves. And yes this stent has been used a lot as you can probably see.
