People say that I am a picky eater: If I can pick it up, I'm liable to eat it!

Littles picky? hehe Well. This daddy scored 37! 37 things on that list I refuse to eat. My sweet @PeachiUwU is a lot better than me there. But I do enjoy coffee. I'm a daddy. I'm allowed. ;)

37, with the caveat that there are other items that I will eat on the list, but I choose not to. Like wheat bread, I'll eat it, but I don't buy it. Plus while I will eat brussel sprout, I won't eat brussel sprouts. One is more than enough.

PS: I thought this was going to be about picking your nose and eating what you find.

Purple is things I'm allergic to and Red is things I won't eat. I do have to put a caveat, I will eat shrimp as long as they're deveined and headless. If they have heads, they're going to become toys while others eat lol.

Littles are notoriously picky eaters. What's your score?

Mine is 13!

I'm not much of a "little", but I scored 5. I eat, or have eaten most everything on the list, can't stand liver ( texture, taste, smell) can't get my head around eating oysters.......ALMOST tried snails, but my brother grabbed the last one.....which is OK, I didn't want it anyways ?? I dont do beets, and don't know anything about nutella.....so thats it....everything else is pretty good!! ??

12 - I don't eat fish or meat.  In the olden days before I went veggie I'd have said 0.  I didn't stop eating fish and meat because I didn't like them though - I just thought they didn't deserve to be eaten.

My daughter was vegan for years (made for some interesting meal planning).   She didn't eat any animal products except for honey.  She hated bees.  She felt fine exploiting them.

While there's many things on that list I'm not overly fond of, there's really only one thing that I truly won't eat and that's your standard boiled peas.    I don't know what it is about the smell of them (must have gotten sick on them at an early age), but the smell makes me vomit.   Oddly, I can eat raw peas, snow peas, pea soup, etc... without issue.

Chicken liver, I'm quite fond of.   Beef, not so much.

Sea Urchin I avoid.   It's pretty vile (though the aficionados rave over it).

12 things on this list I will not eat: one of them is Brussels sprouts: one of them is beets. I don't understand it, but where I live it seems like we are constantly having beach or Brussels sprouts for dinner for our vegetable. There is a couple of times when I've had to throw my vegetables completely away because they just don't look appetizing, and they look like they were burnt or otherwise traumatized.

Had a friend of mine who recently passed away, and she was the head of the food service here at the apartment from about 1992 until 2000.  She had a rule that said that she would not serve anything that the majority of the people that she served would not eat. She was required to have a certain amount of nutrition in a meal, but she had the discretion to decide what to serve.    I used to work with her from 1995 to 2000, as the person who was the data entry specialist, as a volunteer. With her help, we computerized the entire operation, including our root sheets. We used WordPerfect and excel to be able to do a lot of good things, and then when we were able to get a newer machine, we went from WordPerfect to Microsoft Word. The only problem that I had with this transition was, that 90% of our operation was stymied for at least a week while I tried to figure out which files were able to convert to the new format, and the rest of them we had to redo probably about six. When I ended up talking to the director at the time, I basically gave the ladies in the office a tongue lashing because that ended up leaving my boss in a position where she could not function as a director of the meal site.   Long story short, I was actually accused of destroying a computer, because the power supply or hard drive went out, and I had nothing to do with it, because the computer was defective, and they actually apologized to me for this accusation . I would never ever take a computer out, especially after I spent hours and hours and hours to build up a system that worked for her, and provided my software of my personal library to run the machine .

so I was allowed to call this gentleman and ask them why they did what they did, because they basically locked her out of the system. The gentleman said that all computers on BHA properties have to be the same. I told him that this computer that is running in the mail site is the only computer at Washington apartments, and does not need all the security, because it is not connected to the Internet and will not be connected to the Internet without permission from a supervisor. I asked them to immediately remove all security lockouts, because we don't need any security lockouts other than password protection on the machine. They did so, and I told them the next time they decided to do an update, that they should be consulting with her and with whoever is running the computer system, and at the time that was me.

In 2000 I retired along with her because as with politics, things change and people's attitudes change, and it just sounded like we were both being taken for a ride. I won't bore you with the details, but safe to say that it was one of the good things that I did. When you go to work and you work hard and every day you think you're going to make a mistake, and your boss is doing a good job and is your mentor, and the people that work with you are above you are trying to find ways to discredit you, that is not good. Basically, there were people in the landlord office who were nervous about their jobs being lost, over little me? That's hilarious!

During her tenure, I learned a lot of different things. I learned friendship, trust, understanding, passion, how to work as a team, and just  having pride and who and what you are.  This lady used to drive me to school when I was six years old, and did so for about five years. Then she was the manager of our local high school cafeteria, and then retired from that, and when I moved in in 1995, she was the manager. One of the best things that ever happened, and I will always remember her may she rest in peace and cook the biggest Turkey that the Lord can provide.

I am very easy to please. I will almost eat anything put in front of me with limited exception. However, one of them is liver, which added to the other examples lets you know some of the things I will not eat. The good thing about my parents was that, unlike parents of the 50s or 60s, they would cook your food and what they cooked you ate, and you didn't give them a lot of grief. My parents were the reverse: they would tell you what you were going to have for dinner, and most of the time, there was nothing that I would not eat. My mom specifically made sure that most of the vegetables that we ate were ones that I like. She was not one to shovel something onto your plate that she knew that you despised. My mom wouldn't even eat liver, and said to me one day that if I I'm not going to eat it, I'm not gonna have my boys eating it. My mom was very accommodating, however there was one rule that we had to follow.

That rule was that if there was something on the table that you did not like, you had to at least try three bites of it . If for some reason it activated your gag reflex my mom would tell us to stop , and she would get rid of it . This was also the rule that we followed at summer camp , because they knew some of us didn't like some foods that they prepared, so they made sure that we tried at least three bites .

because of that strategy, I we'll eat almost anything that is placed in front of me. My brothers will pick on me because I don't eat a lot of vegetables. The point is that I will eat vegetables, however I'm not a gardener, and I'm not going to sit and cut up vegetables for two hours to be able to eat a vegetable every night. Most times when I get fresh vegetables they sit in my refrigerator and die: I like what I like, but it is a running joke in my family that I hate vegetables because I won't fix them. This is a falsehood: I love vegetables however it's hard for me to make them sometimes. Frozen food is not as good for you as fresh food is, but it takes the place it's just that I have to get used to doing that a lot, and I would rather have fresh vegetables anyway. I don't mind cutting up a tomato or cucumber or whatever, but when you have to make leaks and other long stemmed vegetables, there's a lot of clean out that has to happen before you can even make them. Would rather just have regular vegetables.

By regular I mean corn, peas, corn on the cob, asparagus, wax beans, cucumbers, zucchini, squash, and stuff like that. Stuff that is real easy to make I'll even eat spinach, but that has to be in something that tastes good when it is in it. If somebody slaps some spinach on a plate, I'm not going to eat it. However if somebody made a lasagna with it in it, I would eat it. I've even eaten eggplant and didn't even realize what I ate. I probably could get away with eating that, but I'm not sure how that would affect my tummy. Would I be able to deal with that? Not sure.
