  1. The Incontinence Support Center is strictly for incontinence (no AB/DL, etc.). You may find it at: http://www.incontinentsupport.org
  2. Normally I wear tabbed diapers, but for many visits to my physicians I wear a pull-up for ease of access to that part of my anatomy. I void before getting in the car and again immediately upon arriving at the doctor's office to increase the odds of having a dry diaper when I am examined. If I have to wait for long in the waiting room I again will go to the restroom. This has worked well for me. Despite all of the foregoing, if I should have a bladder accident I just go ahead with the appointment but mention it to the physician. However, If I have a messy accident I will just leave and go home to clean up and change. --John
  3. You will never see those diapers as the technology just is not here at present. Due to gel blocking, the SAP crystals absorb pee, swell up, and then form a "dam" where they block any wicking to the dry parts of the diaper.
  4. I will stress what DailyDi said about joining the incontinence-only forum. It would be more helpful for you as many of us are long-term incontinents or even double-incontinents (as I am). I hope to see you there.
  5. I wear BetterDry diapers daily for need. I should note that BetterDry diapers recently seem to have been shipped with greater compression. The compression can cause the diapers initially to appear thinner. Letting them air out to expand will help, as will massaging the diaper. I can detect no change in the absorbency of the diaper (and I have worn thousands). See my comment above about SAP-only. --John
  6. BetterDry is my go-to daily diaper. As I am medically double incontinent, I have used thousands of BetterDry diapers. Unfortunately, my size (Large) is out of stock everywhere I have looked. Fortunately Crinklz in size Large is available from multiple vendors. I wear both BetterDry L10 and L7 (BetterDry Day). As both have plain white shells it is easy to confuse the two. Regarding the quality of BetterDry, They may have reduced or eliminated the fluff pulp in favor of a SAP-only diaper. This would make the diaper slightly thinner but would not have reduced the absorbency. --John
  7. Therapy, if you are having accidents in the home, you should be wearing plastic pants. As I am medically incontinent, they are a must-have. Furniture is too expensive to risk being ruined by an accident. --John
  8. Both XP Medical and LL Medico are excellent sources for BetterDry diapers at lower prices. --John
  9. Yes. These are an excellent breathable diaper and very comfortable. The waist stretches less than most other cloth-like shell diapers. They have all the usual features found in a quality diaper - standing leak guards, refastenable tapes, wetness indicators, front and rear waistbands. Maximum absorbency is an ISO rating of 4,000 ml (135 oz.). The useable capacity is listed as 86 oz. As I am well hydrated and a heavy wetter I usually add a small booster pad to them. I am double incontinent and wear these for need along with my plastic-shelled diapers such as Better Dry. I definitely can recommend them. You can purchase them from Walmart (online) but at a very good price from LL Medico or XP Medical. I hope this helps. --John
  10. As Christine has indicated, adding baking soda to your used diaper container will do a lot to combat the smell. Just don't be stingy with the baking soda. --John
  11. As expected, the Megamax AirLock performs the same as the Megamax Air, except for having a front plastic landing zone for tapes. This is a great diaper, perhaps the best diaper available that has a cloth-like shell and breathable wings. Unfortunately for me, the plastic landing zone irritates my waist and can start a rash so I will not be able to use it. --John
  12. I have used more than a case of the Megamax Air diapers. They are the best breathable diaper I have tested.🙂 They are very comfortable. The waist does not seem to stretch as much as other breathable diapers. The practical absorbency is equivalent to a BetterDry (my go-to diaper). However, note that the Topic is the Megamax Air Lock. This is the new variant that has replaced the Megamax Air.😟 Personally, I do not like front plastic "taping zones" as I do not need them and once I fold the unused plastic inward at the waist, the folded landing. zone causes irritation. I just received a couple of samples with my newest case of Megamax Air (perhaps one the last ones they have?) and will post my observations. --John
  13. Rue Rue, in addition to a premium diaper with plastic pants, anyone who is a bedwetter should have a mattress protector covering the mattress, plus a washable absorbent pad (bedwetter's pad) on top of that. Some put the washable pad under the bottom sheet while others put it on the top. Either way it protects the mattress. Mattresses are very expensive and easily ruined by bladder accidents.😱 I am double incontinent and a bedwetter. I have lived with this problem for years. However, while my diaper often leaks, I never have wet the mattress itself.🙂 Good luck and best wishes. --John
  14. I have had good experiences with the Etsy BigTots Wear2Work Polo Onesies. I have them in black, grey, red, and green and have been very happy with them.🙂 When I wear them you would never guess they are anything other than a normal polo shirt. I highly recommend them. —John
  15. After reading Rusty Pin's experience with receiving onesies that are way too large, I thought I would add an observation. I have worn onesies for about 10 years. As I mentioned in an earlier message I have about 12 in different colors, including polo onesies. Regrettably, there is very little standardization of sizes between vendors. A large at one vendor may be an XL in another. I have wasted considerable money on oversized or undersized onesies. As I use onesies to provide much-needed support for my diaper, size is critical. I have learned that it is very important to find one vendor that provides onesies in your size and stay with them.🙂 --John
  16. I have about 12 onesies. They are white, black, red, blue, and gray. Some are onesie Polo shirts. I store all in drawers except for the Polo shirts that are on hangars. I also wear my onesies at night as my pj's. If they begin to stretch too much to provide the needed support during days, I then convert them to night use over my larger night diapers. --John
  17. My onesies are my PJ's. I sleep in only my onesies with nothing else except my diaper and plastic pants. I am medically incontinent and will wet during the night. --John
  18. Thanks to Mike, the new incont.org forum for incontinents has been a great success. We have been addressing a number of challenging topics of particular interest to those who are medically incontinent. Some of these topics already have been discussed here, but we are looking at them from the unique perspective of those who have no choice and must live with incontinence and wearing diapers 24/7. Some of our most prolific contributors have been incontinent for many years, so there is a wealth of advice and information in the old messages that can help those who are newly or recently IC.🙂 --John (double incontinent)
  19. DiaperGirl, we agree. I was referring to handicapped restrooms, not stalls in general public restrooms. --John
  20. If you are not medically handicapped, don't use it. Leave it for those of us who are. --John
  21. Great idea. I'll see you guys there. Unfortunately, at this moment Yahoo is having problems and cannot process sign ins for an hour. --John
  22. Wear your diaper during your appointment and don't worry about it. You would be surprised how many patients wear diapers. Doctors are used to ut. Your doctor should ask about your incontinence as it is part of your medical profile. He may ask you to lower or untape your diaper if he checks your testicles. The diaper will need to be untaped or lowered if he performs a prostate check (via a lubricated gloved finger inserted up your anus to feel your prostate). It is a good idea to carry an extra diaper with you to the examination in case you are unable to retape the orginal diaper after one of the procedures above. I sometimes wear a good quality pullup to the exam for the convenience of pulling it down and back up. When I do that I try to pee in the restroom just prior to my appointment. I'm double incontinent and have found all my doctors to be very accepting and helpful. I hope yours are the same. Good luck.
  23. I wear both rubber pants (panties if you wish) and rubber bloomers. As I am medically both bowel and bladder incontinent, I appreciate that rubber pants will transmit less odor than plastic pants in the event of a bowel accident. At night I wear rubber bloomers over another pair of plastic pants as the legs of the bloomers fit lower on my thighs and wll stop any leaks from the plastic pants. Also, the legs of the boomers can be adjusted to different positions to avoid skin irritation from the leg elastics. As I almost always wear a onesie, any reasonable bagginess does not bother me. I am careful in washing and drying my rubber pants and have found that they will last a very long time. I have been using one pair for three years. I buy my rubber pants/panties from Protex. --John
  24. Thanks for the offer, but I am medically incontinent.?  I am sure you will find others who are very interested.

This person seems to be randomly messaging multiple people the same message without reading anything in a person's profile and they have only 1 post which is the same "Do you want a mommy or babysitter". Just a heads up to folks to be wary.

  25. No one should feel ashamed of a medical condition. My incontinence is the same as my arthritis. They both are medical conditions over which I have no control. That being said, my incontinence is a personal and private matter. I do not advertise it but that is not because I am ashamed of it. I am double incontinent - both bladder and bowel. I have two medical conditions that are highly stigmatized in our society.
