  1. Isn't that normal for everything? Reduce size or quantity and charge more? Haven't really noticed any capacity change myself, but that's not saying much. For the first time ever, I completely overwhelmed a Better Dry more than I ever have. It soaked the bed pad and my shirt, but the pad saved the day. The onesie and the pad went immediately into the washer. I never had it this bad and made such a pee mess that I ended up in the shower and hosed down myself as well as my ever present plastics. Wow. I don't know what caused so much pee.
  2. Sometimes you don't have an option and are automatically enrolled when you buy that house. That happened to me and couldn't escape as it's popular in the communist state of Michigan.
  3. I'm curious. I thought Abena's were cheaper than the Northshore's, or is it the supplier's cost differential? I find Better Dry to be an exceptional value, especially from XP Medical. Is that just me or what?
  4. Here's a weird suggestion and works extremely well: Salicylic Acid 2% by Clearasil. The doctor says it's essentially strong soap. It has become my main tool for fighting diaper rash and maintaining healthy skin. It really works well and has replaced all my other lotions and cremes. It's like the best stuff ever and not super expensive.
  5. Exactly right! ANY involuntary loss of ANY amount defines IC/. I've said it hundreds of times: You DON'T need to qualify for IC as it cannot be measured. If you want to be IC, then you are. No pre or post qualifications needed or necessary. Your statement makes it so. Own it and stop obsessing over it.
  6. Since they're Leakmaster, I assume the legs/waist are covered and are 6 mil. Hope I'm wrong.
  7. Have you tried Hippo Sacks? They run $.03USD/bag and can hold 1-2 diapers. They work really well and buy 1000 at a time. Can't get more economical than that. You wouldn't have to buy then again for a couple of years. That might please your other half.
  8. Vinyl/plastic have stopped many a leak which kind of sucks as pee is not a friend of vinyl. It 's like Henry Ford said: You can have any rubber pant you want as long as its vinyl. There is no other kind.
  9. According to XP Medical, my supplier, they're here to stay. Works for me.

    Ugh

In Michigan there is no rent credit. The only thing you get is screwed and you're supposed to like it. Property tax keeps going up so you can pay the left wing teachers to indoctrinate your kids.
  11. Me too. Though, I don't know the difference between vinyl and plastic, although some have made the distinction in the past. So many years later and it's still the same. Vinyl seems to be harder to get now a days. InControl has killed off all but three of their plastics: white, pink, and clear. So sad. I bought a dozen whites. They're pushing PUL. I don't care for PUL... it's just not the same.
  12. Firstly, I did not know that assessing one's underwear choices with others is even a part of the discussion or required in any way. Secondly, relationships are not usually based on one's underwear choices. Should it ever come up, it is something that requires little or no discussion and is passed over with little attention or explanation. Only you care more than they do. So, forget it. Pay it no heed.
  13. Always wear plastic or in your case PUL. Don't chance it.

    Ugh

Sounds like you got an ARM which really sucks when rates go up; especially now with inflation... Banks are paying over 5% for 3-month CDs with low initial investment. Sure am happy that mortgage was paid in full during 2021. Spent most of the time getting screwed like you and not liking it.
  15. AS usual, you speak truth and wisdom grasshopper.
  16. During divorce, I temporarily moved back into my parent's home. They were well aware of my vision and incontinence issues. Before leaving to a scheduled event, my mother noticed a lot of crinkling from me while on the way out of the house. She insisted that I go back and put on a pair of plastic pants to kill the noise. After doing so, she gave her approval and we left. Since then, I have plastic pants on, regardless of diaper type, time, or event. No exceptions, no matter where or what. It is the best!!!
  17. If I could tell that it's there, I'd probably like it. No eyesight = is there a wetness indicator -- really?
  18. I'll raise that and call -- yeah baby!!!! Plastics is the best!!!
  19. I completely agree with Rusty. Capacity isn't always the determining or desired factor. Get a good diaper and resolve to change it somewhere along the way. Can't emphasize the importance of an overpant -- I prefer plastic, but it's your choice. Finding a place to change isn't that hard -- I've used stalls multiple times and really don't care who sees me throwing a used diaper away. You'll probably never see them again. And if you do, so what?
  20. the official definition for bladder IC from urology: Any involuntary loss of urine of any amount. Any questions?
  21. Everyone is right. It's an almost impossible task. The best way to handle it? This may sound harsh but it's not: Time to seriously consider going out on your own. You won't regret it.
  22. Unlike you, I've been screwed from the beginning, My insurance (whether employer supplied or later Medicare had no provisions for diapers and the cost has been fully borne by me. I could never qualify for Medicaid as my income level was too high, even when considered disabled. To this day, I bear the full cost of wearing and using diapers. I am on a fixed income which still keeps me barely above the poverty line which I conclude is done purposely. My fixed income is higher than many others as I paid an exorbitant amount in taxes during my lifetime. I found a good supplier and Betterdry diapers at a reasonable cost that I can afford. Northshore was never a cost effective option for me. A colonoscopy was suggested last week and I turned them down. Did the same for the one you do at home but have to play with your poop to send in a sample. Ain't happening. Stay well and prosper.
  23. Plan ahead. Pack smart... Use a backpack and take enough diapers and supplies to get you to your destination. This includes any connection flights and layovers. Pack enough in checked luggage to get you through your trip. Scope out diaper supply locations in advance so you have a backup source if necessary. If you need to, ship a case of diapers in advance to your destination and pick up when you get there. Reverse the above on the return trip. This has worked well for me in the past. Good luck.
  24. Y'all are so great!!! Crazy enviro-MENTAL ists...
