Mostly young adult fiction, but also post-apocalyptic sci-fi, and urban fantasy. My favorite authors are Amanda Hocking, Brandon Mull, and Rick Riordan.

Embarassment, Increased Incontinence, Better Pull Up?
warpiper replied to Jan for June's topic in Incontinence - Medical
I'm going to move this to the incontinence section, as it's more appropriate for there. It sounds like you are having increased issues, and it's not likely that using pull-ups is increasing your incontinence by itself. The thing that breaks my heart the most is when you say that you won't be able to do things in public, and with needing incontinence protection, this is the exact opposite. Using protection means you CAN go out and do things, because you aren't tied to needing the bathroom every half hour or so. Don't let life pass you by because of this! As for the night time stuff, typically pull-ups aren't the best thing for night time, as leaks can happen at the leg holes, but there are a bunch of other solutions that I'll leave to my other members who have more experience with this. Check out the products by NorthShoreCare for both pull-ups and briefs. Just remember you aren't alone, and this might be an issue, but there is usually an answer as to why you are having incontinence. It's a symptom of a disease, not the disease itself! -

Gatorade is good, but pedialyte goes down much more easily when you are just fresh from vomiting. I find that gatorade doesn't go down as well when I had just vomited.

Non-Incons - Peeing while walking? Self-challenge
warpiper replied to DL-Boy's topic in Diaper Lovers
Sitting, standing, walking, running. The only places I really have difficulties are actually driving in my car and at the movie theater, which I think is a result of the angle that I'm sitting at pinching off the urethra somewhat. -
I occasionally see people in the ED who aren't nursing home patients wearing a diaper or pull up. Most are older than 50. I one time had a patient that was having a terrible fungal infection that used them to keep her pants clean, but I've never had anyone come in wearing a premium brief that wasn't profoundly disabled. Almost everyone wears the garbage from retail stores.

The Cuties XL Sleep Overs actually fit me like a slightly snug set of underwear. They definitely fit better than the Goodnites XL, because they have a higher rise in them. I'm 6'2" and 175lbs if that gives you an idea. Only way to know is to try them, and you can get them for like 19 bucks on cheapchux, which is cheaper than the amazone price i paid of 30 bucks. https://cheapchux.com/collections/underwear-pull-ons/products/prevail-sleep-overs-youth?variant=26856266627

Here's a good analogy: "oh the curve is flattening so we can ease the restrictions :: oh this parachute is slowing our descent so we can take it off"

Why are some threads deleted with no explanation?
warpiper replied to Kootis's topic in The Rest of your Life!
What was deleted? I haven't been on in a few days because I work in the hospital ER and we've been getting slammed with COVID. There is usually an explanation, just let us know. -piper -
It's going so much worse now. I'm in a community hospital in Jersey (300 inpatient beds is still a community hospital out here), and the stuff that we do on a daily basis is the stuff of nightmares. Making decisions on who could get a ventilator vs. who is not likely to survive, terrified all the time for whether or not I bring this home to my family. We wear the same N95 mask all day to the point where we all have pressure ulcers on our noses from where the mask is constant pulling on it. My coworkers and I are going to be so messed up after this with PTSD, that I just can't even.

DD, you don't need anti-bacterial soap to protect you from COVID. It's a virus, and the way to break it down is to disrupt the protein outer layer with soap for at least 20 seconds which will render the virus's ability to attach to cells inert, neutralizing it. I hesitate to say "kill" it, because it was never alive in the first place.

I just read an article about supply chain stuff and panic buying that was entirely about Northshore. The reason everything was delayed was because of the panic buying, their orders went up by 2-3 times their normal demand, and there is only so many hours in the day to ship things. They must have just been a bit behind. People normally would bulk buy a month, but now are bulk buying 3-6 months or even a year. https://www.digitalcommerce360.com/2020/03/20/how-a-medical-supplies-e-retailer-handles-the-coronavirus/

I don't get the idea that, oh there's no TP, just use a diaper. You still have to wipe the butt with a wipe if you use diapers. Just use a wipe if you're out of TP.

Adam is on here if you want to message him. Also, you can text them through their website. Find out what is going on.

Not me man, on the front lines dealing with COVID (and the 5 gazillion other people who think they have it). I work in the ED as a nurse, so we see it all. This is gonna become a new level of suck.

Flushable wipes aren't really flushable.

The difference between airborne and droplet is that airborne typically has infected spores that fly through the air, like tuberculosis. Droplet is similar to influenza, meaning if someone coughs in your direction, or sneezes (which travel at 200+mph), these droplets can get on you, including your nose, mouth, and eyes, which can give a vector for the virus to get in. I don't want to tell you this to be scared, but just avoiding contact and not touching people is not enough. Don't go to big gatherings, avoid public places as much as possible, and wash your hands over and over to prevent any contaminants that got on your hands from ending up in you mucous membranes.

We use the unscented ones daily on our daughter, and we are big fans of the cloth like material.
