If I were to buy something from Amazon for example say a couple of packs of mega max diapers, then I go to Facebook the next day and I find that I have mega max diapers in my feed. The only thing that I think that can be done is for someone to say block this ad, and then when it ask why it would say too intrusive or does not apply, but we all know that Facebook uses the ads. As a way to “serve Relevant content to us”. I really don’t want Facebook to be loaded with this stuff, but I guess it is something that comes with the territory because I have to use diapers and I do it every day. Because Facebook is Facebook, I don’t see any change coming that would allow us to determine what we see on our feeds unless we were to be able to turn off all ads in our feeds. It would be almost like if I decided to buy my mom a present for her birthday, and I end up buying it on Amazon, and then for some reason someone logged into my account and see that and it was the surprise. However I guess AMAZON and other vendors use the information that we give them to show us relevant cocontent. I guess until someone decides to give us a quote off switch” for some of this continent, we will be continuing inundated with these kinds of ads simply because we need the products that they are advertising. Sometimes you win, and I guess sometimes you lose. So I just figure what the hell, I need the product and it’s no big deal. Sometimes I wonder if Facebook thinks about what they do when they use information from places that we visit to serve content. Brian Link to comment

Brian Hi Brian I dont have Facebook not really interested in it one of the reasons that i found out a while back is that Facebook tracks you across the web. If you by incontinence products Facebook know about it thats why you have the products in your feed. same would apply if you were buying TVs or computers or not buying a product you would still have it in your Facebook feed. Crinklz Kat
A lot of that is all triggered by cookies. They're set by any/every web site.... and the ad bots from other sites read them and process based on that. Yes, some ad brokers have mechanisms that will store meta data about you and can make the determination that it's still you regardless of the source IP or browser that you're using. I love real cookies, but I hate web cookies. And this all exists primarily because people want all the internet for "free". If you're willing to suffer having to re-enter a lot of stuff and log back into every site you have set to "remember you", try this - delete all of the stored cookies in your browser. And I mean ALL. See what ads come up then. Link to comment

ValentinesStuff
I used to have ads for them pop up while playing solitaire at work. Freaked me out the first time I saw one. Then I realized it was just random. Link to comment
kasarberang
The ad isn't following you, Facebook is following you. Did you know Facebook knows where you browse, even if you're not on Facebook? They do this using the fancy Facebook like/share buttons riddled everywhere on the web. (as well as plenty of other methods, I'm certain.) And they know it's you, even if you're not logged into Facebook. I don't have a Facebook, which isn't surprising to most on here, I'm sure, since I've kind of cemented myself as the local privacy nut in various posts. However, in my opinion, that's not such a bad thing to be. Imagine being known as "the lunatic who locks his doors and windows at night", not such a bad title, if you ask me. 2 Link to comment
WetDad
I stopped using Chrome and now I use Firefox almost exclusively. Firefox has a sandbox that keeps Facebook from seeing any of my web visits. 2 Link to comment

vvp39
By using the incognito window in Chrome for all my fetish-related web browsing I keep the diaper-related popup ads to a minimum; very seldom see them on facebook. Also, I take care to log out of fb every time I'm not actively using it. Sure, once in a while I'll mistakenly use a regular window to look in here, and then I'll see diaper ads everywhere, but they go away after a few days, as well as reminding me to be more careful. Also, I do not have facebook on my phone, only my desktop. Link to comment
