Elfy
If people want an alternative group to donate to I can suggest: https://www.openrightsgroup.org/ They seem to use the lawyer mentioned earlier and also campaign to keep the internet free and open. Taking out our personal stake in this (our fetish is under attack), it could be the start of a very slippery slope that sees a lot of the internet censored, VPNs banned or regulated extremely heavily and other bad stuff to give the government control to end the "golden age" of the internet. It may seem extreme but with the Snoopers charter and then censoring content like porn we are very quickly becoming a place like China in terms of freedoms and privacy given up. 1 Link to comment
Abi
This is true, Elfy - but trying to get people to defend US when they're not under attack, because it's plain as the nose on your face that they will be next, ain't easy. I saw it before, 10 years ago, when we tried to mobilise the shooting and fishing people to come to the defence Link to comment

eatenbywo1ves
Meh most of the western population has been groomed to accept "a resonable level of intrusion", some have come to expect it. Sucks that its now trending in this direction, but there are lots of ways around these things. 1 Link to comment

There was small protests but nothing that made a difference. More recently they have passed the Snoopers Charter... Again, little to no protest from anyone. This porn blocking is attached to a bill that is definitely passing through Parliament without issue. There isn't any opposition to it in either public or parliament either... Writing it off as having no chance to pass is extremely dangerous when everything points to it coming in as soon as they get around to it. There really is no reason to believe it won't pass. Slim27
Hello i hope someone can answer my question. I was looking on facebook and found a diaper lovers group and my question is. Is there anyway to become a member of that group without anybody who looks and my profile being able to see it? Link to comment

Elfy
Well I read the whole thing and it's kind of a mixed bag. The laws proposed are still stupid but the changes are massive for people in the ABDL and BDSM worlds. It seems the version of the bill handed back to the Commons does not include blocks on inane porn such as age play and BDSM scenes. However, as excellent as that is... It still needs to pass through the Commons. Basically, the Commons could reject the amendments and the Bill would be sent back to the Lords again. This blog writer seems confident that it won't be done but I have learned not to be too optimistic. If the Government really want to force this issue they can reject the amendments and send it back to the Lords and continue the ping-pong phase. Basically, if it passes in it's current state it will be a bit annoying rather than horrific... We will see if if the Commons votes for the amendments, until then I am not celebrating. Elfy
I just realised that the link in the post above is out of date, it's from before the final vote. I read the more up to date post that talked about the rushing through of the final for of the bill... The bill did pass and received royal ascent, this means strict age verification is on the way (something @DailyDi will need to implement to keep the site open in the UK) but it also means the extreme port amendment passed which means that abdl and bdsm porn should not be blocked. The only things that shouldn't be blocked. There are some vague rules about what is extreme porn but abdl and almost all bondage should be fine for the most part. So overall good news, I think :-) 1 Link to comment

Elfy
In the original Bill there was a last minute amendment added that meant "non-conventional" pornography would be blocked no matter what. In their definition of "non-conventional" was included age related roleplay. The amendment put in to remove the "non-conventional" part and make it just for things like beastiality and other nasty stuff was only voted for and added on the day the Bill was passed, yesterday. Even with how the Bill finally played out, the age verification that will be done will likely require something more significant than us doing our best to find them. It will likely mean needing to involve software that will verify people, but I'm not sure what that will entail. Either way, right or wrong, at least it's good news 1 Link to comment

Elfy
Well it was a short reprieve... http://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/gadgets-and-tech/news/theresa-may-internet-conservatives-government-a7744176.html When the inevitable happens and the Tories get elected with a huge majority they are going to seize control of what can and can't be published online, what search engines can direct you to (including forcing search engines to not give pornographic results) and a bunch of other crazy stuff. Looks like they are specifically targetting BDSM and other kink fetishes as well so expect us to get caught in the net. It's insane, it's draconian, it's Orwellian, it's a lot of things but it could be happening. Link to comment

The bill passed, however on the day that it did so there was an amendment that was recommended by the House of Lords that changed the definition for the content that would be blocked to the truly extreme stuff (Beastiality, etc... Things that are very, very illegal) and things like BDSM and ABDL should be safe from censorship. That said, the bill did pass which means that when it starts to be implemented there will be new age verification software on any site that might have adult material. Details are sparse but it might require you to verify your age via credit card or something before showing adult content and sites like this one may fall into the adult category. Ok thanks Link to comment
