  1. I had one of those child/parent reversals a few years ago when my dad asked me for advice on buying diapers. Came as a surprise. Was glad I could help him.
  2. I use Luvs6 as a stuffer inside cheap disposables for day use and inside pull up cloth diapers (and plastic pants) for nite use. It saves me money since I am 24/7.
  3. Babykins takes PayPal. Their prices are quoted in Canadian dollars. PayPal gives you a good exchange for USDollars---about a 30% discount over the listed Canadian dollar price. This makes the Kins produces very reasonable. Love their products.
  4. For daytime use, and availability, I like Walgreens Certainty brand diapers. They are cloth backed but have good tapes. They also have leak guards and don't fall apart. I just got two bags of 40 for $28. I use a LUVS 6 stuffer inside them and the combo get me thru most days.
  5. As others have mentioned, my cloth diapers don't leak when I sleep on my side. Have yet to find a disposable that gets me thru the nite without leaking.
  6. Seems like most people soak their diapers until ready to wash. I rinse in the shower and then air dry them on a drying rack. Denver is so dry that they are dry by evening, and then they go into the hamper until laundry day. Works for me.
  7. What part of the hook and loops failed. I have not had a problem as long as I keep the fuzz off the hooks.
  8. Remember if you are in the States and pay thru PayPal, you will get the US-canada exchange rate--a 30% or so discount.
  9. I love the feel of plastic pants and have many different brands and sizes. Large size for nite cloth diapers and medium size for daytime disposables. I also like to use a pair of training pants between the ppants and disposable to catch any leaks.
  10. You can also use baby disposables as a soaker inside your Depends. I use LUVS 6. I use a razor knife/utility knife to slice small holes in the baby diap. Works pretty well for me and is still cheaper than the fancy disposables. Oh, as Christine mentioned, plastic pants or PUL pants keep things dry!!!
  11. I too have had trouble with leaky breathable adult diapers but figured that the problem was that the plastic backsheet is not wide enough. I just pulled apart a generic adult cloth like disposable. It did have a plastic backsheet inside the outer cloth sheet BUT it only covered the center of the diaper going about a inch wider than the padding. This is a problem since any moisture that doesn't stay in the padded area as when you sleep on your side will leak. The better cloth backed disposables will have a wider plastic backsheet meaning less chance for leaking. (My solution is to wear a thin cloth pullup diaper and plastic pants over them. No leaks for me.
  12. Isn't it amazing how many diaper options we now have. I remember back in the 70's and we had Attends and green Depends. Both were awful!
  13. I have one major issue with plastic backed disposables. They are harder to refasten than the tapes on most cloth backed disposables. I am only a wetter and its nice to get a tight fit with the tapes when refastening them.
