Don't have to look it up, already know what it means. I never guess. Nothing I've built ever failed. Not quite sure how calculating loads, breaking strength, load ratings, etc. equals luck or guessing. Where I work adequate is not good enough. The work must be reinforced and armored to survive severe impact. When people who have no knowledge or caring are using the structures, dangerous overloading is common, the installation must be able to survive excessive loads so that if failure occurs, it's the fixture that fails, not the installation. To get the work hanging large heavy items from the ceiling in an open store with customers around, one must be able to provide evidence that all factors have been considered. Even one little close call would mean never doing that type of work again. Agreed, leaving the discussion for now. I believe I would like working with you. Competence is hard to find these days.

@Betty, the code book won't help you here, maybe physics class instead. No way is there deflection load on the ceiling stringer. The defection load is in the roof deck transfering the load to the walls. In fact you can build a good strong roof without the ceiling stringer or v braces. Vaulted ceilings. I think I can calculate loads and stress correctly. I did hang a car from the ceiling inside an auto parts store.

Here's the technical reasoning why you can butt joint the ceiling stringer. Picture the load on a triangle, as the top peak gets pushed down it tries to pull the bottom stringer outward from both ends. Items under tension are very strong even when made of multiple pieces. The joint just needs to be constructed in a way to make it difficult to pull apart. A butt joint is acceptable for tension loading.

I know what's involved, I've built many roofs. Standard spacing of roof trusses is 24". Spacing at 16" will produce a structure that exceeds any required specifications. The peak structure is what holds a roof deck up, not the v bracing. For long span roof deck stringers, 2"x6" should be used. The ceiling stringer is usually 2"x4" and the v bracing is to hold it up as a long horizontal piece has a tendency to sag. If high loads are expected, the pitch of the roof deck needs to be increased accordingly. A well designed roof structure should have a steep enough pitch to shed the load well before any dangerous loading occurs. The only thing a factory built truss offers, is time saving. With a crane truck you can do the whole roof in one day.

Lol at engineered. At work when we see something stupid, we know an engineer was involved. Good roofs have been built for a long time before engineers got involved. A roof truss is not complicated and the minimum specs for the species and dimensions of wood used are easily looked up. Overkill is often cheaper than professional help. As long as you stick to accepted maximum spacing like 16" centers it's going to work.

Having hair down there will contribute to more odor. Getting rid of the hair will make a big difference in odor control and make skin care much easier.

Factory built trusses connect the butted ends with metal plates stamped into the wood. You can do the same thing with 2 - 3 ft pieces of wood. Butt the ends together and join with the wood on the side of the truss. Many home built trusses use strips of plywood for the joining piece, easy and fast if you have access to an air stapler. With any long span, be sure to use an adequate number of braces. There should be at least one V on each side of center to ensure the center of each roof face doesn't sag over time or with snow loading.

Three years is not very long to develop a disassociated condition. When the brain receives the signals, it commands the muscles to contract and hold. Ignoring the signal and intentionally keeping the muscles relaxed while allowing whatever happens will eventually decrease the brain response until the brain no longer has a reliable connection to those muscles. The muscles that control continence work both ways. At rest they don't do anything, just sitting there waiting to work. When contractions start, the brain tells the sphincters to contract and hold which counteracts the contractions and after a short period stops them. When you go, the muscle relaxes opening the pipe, then returns to neutral. As the muscles have to go both ways to work well, any stress on the muscle in one direction only, will make it less effective. Constantly confusing the brain with inconsistent response to the signals, will eventually make the brain ignore those signals and decrease the effectiveness of the pathways to control those muscles.

The internal bowel muscle is a very unique muscle. It's shaped like a U and runs from the front hip bone down under the bowel and back up to the hip bone on the other side. When you clench it, it pinches the bowel closed like bending a garden hose to stop the water. Very effective method to keep semi liquid material contained.

Disconnection from the area is actually a fairly common phenomenon that results from traumatic experiences like sexual assault. The person involved no longer wants to know what is happening down there, and ignores the signals. Eventually a loss of conscious control develops as the brain no longer has a well used pathway to the muscles. The treatment for this kind of issue is physiotherapy. A continence physiotherapist would teach how to exercise the muscles and repetition would rebuild the pathway to them resulting in greater control. Intentionally ignoring the signals will eventually have the same effect. Confusing the brain by going when there is no signal, and ignoring the need to go signal, will produce a situation where the brain no longer knows how much is in the bladder. This is a very slow progression, and develops over a time frame of 10-20 years. Retraining would also take a long time. Many months of weekly visits to the physiotherapist and several years continence exercises would be necessary to rebuild control.

Cutting? Why would you want to do that? The alcohol isn't causing damage fast enough. Getting drunk is a sign of an alcohol problem. Can you have ONE drink and then no more, leaving the rest in the bottle. If so, then you are not an alcoholic, but need to get out and enjoy some activities you find interesting. Maybe replace that drinking with a weekly activity that contributes to your health rather than takes away from it. I do have experience, my brother is an alcoholic, he spent over $30,000 on alcohol last year.

Don't paint the entire community by the actions of one person. Stupid, ignorant, intrusive people are in every community, but they are in a very small minority. Most just want a peaceful life with some support from others who understand. Ignore the losers and move on without giving it a second thought. When actions don't get what is wanted the behavior should change. Some people just never had appropriate direction in life and perhaps don't even realize the inappropriateness of their actions. I don't use cloth so I can't specifically address that. I keep hydrated so there's not much smell. When I take my night diaper off I just wipe myself off with a baby wipe. I prefer Pampers scented wipes. It's getting harder to find scented wipes these days as most of the manufacturers are removing fragrance.

I use the Real-Fit underwear while at work. They are as advertised, very discrete. They have alot of SAP, so even though the padding isn't that big, they hold a lot if wetted somewhat slowly. I would say they could hold about 600 ml. A very good product that fills a specific need. If you want to get out of regular underwear these are good to start with, no one would know.

When I know what you celebrate I always use the appropriate terms. When religious affiliation is unknown a generic term is more appropriate. Using religious terms on others is not respectful of individual beliefs. A big problem with organized religion is most do not accept the separation of church and state. People who belong to faith groups are expected to toe the party line when elected and then to work to integrate faith into government. Make decisions and vote according to evidence or for the greater good of society and you're excommunicated. People who are interested in power will never limit themselves to a single area of influence.

Chlorophyllin compounds like Nullo have been well known for odor reduction for over 50 years with almost no side effects. There are other brands available, both in capsules and liquid. It can found at a health products store. I take Chlorofresh capsules by Natures Way, one morning and night. I did find a good side effect though. It has completely eliminated my really bad acid reflux. I used to take acid reducing pills when it got bad, but since taking chlorophyll, I haven't even needed a Tum's. Chlorophyllin is a form of chlorophyll converted to be water soluble. A lot of Ostomy patients use it in the bag. Dosage is important for best effects. You need to take enough to get the greenish colour and it helps to split the daily dosage morning and night.

I use a little battery powered trimmer about once a week. I have been thinking of getting lasered for a while, but haven't found the right place or the guts. Not quite sure how to approach that interaction. For those who want to know. The No-No and similar devices use a hot element to burn hair off just below the surface of the skin. The light is just to indicate the element is on. They have issues just like shaving and will work better for some than others. I cannot shave smooth, too many ingrown hair problems, so that tech is not for me.

I find the printed pattern on a lot of diapers is not quite centered. I don't use the printing to get the fit right, use the padding position to get the tape in the right spot. It usually takes a few diapers to get the right fit when trying a new brand.
