  1. My daily diapers are Tena Slip Active Fit during the day and BetterDry at night. I mix it up a bit on weekends, but Tena/BetterDry works for most situations.
  2. My daytime diaper is Tena Active Fit Slip (Maxi at work, Ultima in the evenings). Occasionally, I'll wear Drylife XPlus in the evenings - they are nearly identical to the classic plastic backed Abena. If I have a few beers, I'll switch to something with higher capacity, like Tykables Cammies For overnight, it's Betterdry or Crinklz.
  3. I like Tykables, but I don't care for their taping system (much prefer sticky tapes). I've been hoarding a few bags of original Snuggies for years.
  4. My normal workday routine is five diapers: Early morning to break time - Tena Slip Super Late morning until lunch time - Tena Slip Maxi After lunch to quitting time - Tena Slip Maxi Evenings at home - Tena Slip Ultima Bedtime - BetterDry Weekends are similar, but there is usually one more diaper slipped into the schedule.
  5. I have bad luck with boosters. I try them every so often, but I'm always disappointed with the results. For me, boosters get uncomfortable really quickly. Maybe I just don't like the feeling of the wet pad next to my skin. They also tend to promote leaks by rising above the leak guards. I wear high to premium quality diapers all the time, which probably don't need the extra capacity. The latest ones I tried were Tykables Dubblers. They feel great and add a real bulk to your diaper, but after a few wettings, the booster is soaked and swollen, while the diaper is still mostly dry. I put one in a BetterDry to wear overnight, and ended up leaking out over the top of my diaper, which never normally happens. When I hear stories of people putting 2-3 boosters in a diaper and wearing it for 24 hours, it sounds like the most uncomfortable thing. I would much rather wear a premium diaper and change every 4-6 hours than use a booster.
  6. I had severe acid reflux for many years, caused by a hiatal hernia. I had surgery over 20 years ago to fix it and no reflux since.
  7. I like to have a couple of pints of Guinness on a Saturday evening. I put on a Tykables Cammies before I start so I won't have to change every 30 minutes for the rest of the night...
  8. I told my mother and one of my sisters a few years ago - I was staying with them when one of my other sisters passed away and wanted to head off any embarrassing discoveries. I told my other sister about two weeks ago. Same situation. It turns out my mother and oldest sister have both had their own struggles with incontinence. Of course, my wife knew from the start. I told her about my diaper desires about two years after we got married. 15 years later, a car accident combined with a history of back problems led to a slow loss of bladder control All my doctors and physical therapists know - it would be impossible to hide.
  9. I sleep in a disposable diaper (BetterDry or Crinklz), Tykables training pants and plastic pants or Gary Activewear pants over it all. This ensures that any leaks are contained. No other clothing unless it's really cold or I'm really sick.
  10. Every year, I bring out a couple of my Fabine Christmas diapers. I bought a case when they first came out and normally wear one to bed on Christmas eve, then another on Christmas day. I broke tradition last night and wore a Tykables Cammies to bed. I had taken in more liquid more than the Fabine could handle. I wear 24/7, so every day is a diapered day.
  11. I tried them for the first time last night. I prefer tape to hook and loop tabs, but these ones are pretty good. They stayed in place all night. I did have a bit of ink rub off on my outer thigh, but it washed off easily enough. Performance was excellent. I normally wear BetterDry to bed, so I've come to expect a premium diaper will last all night with no leaks. Cammies held up with no problems. They are definitely softer than BetterDry. I'll give them a better test this weekend.
  12. I'm with Glennie and babystevie on the P&G Attends. You could buy them in almost any drugstore in the 90's. Second would be Abena Abri-Form plastic backed - but I recently learned that DryLife XPlus is the same diaper, just rebranded.
  13. I wear BetterDry or Crinklz to bed. I've tried many others, but those fit me just right and almost never leak. My regular daytime/evening diaper is Tena Slip Active Fit (Max in the day, Ultima in the evening). For some reason, Tena diapers leak like mad if I wear them to bed. Most of the premium ABDL diapers leak for me if I wear them to bed too. I love ABU Space, but always get wetness seeping out the back of the leg holes. I have to really soak a BetterDry to make that happen. I'm pretty amazed some mornings when just about all of the padding is wet, but no wet patches on the cotton trainers I wear over them. I can get 8-10 hours from a BetterDry and have never had to get up and change in the middle of the night.
  14. I grew up with a mother who was ignorant about left handed people. Her mother was ignorant and superstitious. In my grandmother's mind, left handed children were evil and had to be broken of their wicked habits before the devil took over. My oldest sister was "corrected" from left to right handedness and suffered emotional problems her entire life. Luckily, my father's family were more enlightened and didn't interfere. Myself and one of my other sisters are left handed and we adapted very well. I write, bat and play hockey left handed, but pretty much do everything else right handed. I can throw and catch with either hand. I switch between left and right hand drive cars (and roads) with ease. I never understood left handed scissors. I could use right handed ones in either hand, but the lefty ones never seemed to work for me. As far as a link between left handedness and ABDL, I don't think there is one.
  15. I'm American and use both terms, depending on the situation. I do prefer the word diaper, though.
  16. I work in a calibration laboratory, as the supervisor of about 15 technicians. As far as I know, nobody knows that I wear diapers and I work hard to keep it that way. I've known a few of the guys for over 20 years and they know all about my back problems, but I keep the incontinence to myself. I thought my boss found out once, but he never said anything. He is pretty knowledgeable about labor laws, so I'm sure he knows that he can't bring it up. I change on a pretty regular schedule, usually right before everyone gets back from lunch and once more right before we go home. My job keeps me moving around the building almost non-stop, so when I slip away to change, it's hardly noticeable. I have a backpack in my locker with a couple of diapers, a pack of wipes and disposal bags. I had my own office for a while, which made things easier, but now I just use the bathroom when it's empty. My work diaper is Tena Slip Active Fit Maxi. I wear slightly baggy jeans and a polo shirt at work, with boxer briefs over my diaper. That has worked to keep things concealed nicely.
  17. Most of the story about Lisa Nowak driving from Houston to Orlando while wearing and using a diaper is an urban legend. She was not wearing a diaper when arrested, and the diapers in her car were baby diapers. People made the connection between astronauts and diapers and jumped to a conclusion. If you're not incontinent, driving at highway speeds and trying to deliberately pee in a diaper is nearly impossible.
  18. I used to think about them all the time too. Once I started wearing full time, my mind quieted down. It was pretty liberating - I didn't realize how much they dominated my thoughts until they no longer did.
  19. Tena Slip Active Fit Maxi are a great thin diaper. I wear them to work every day and nobody notices.
  20. I use baby powder, nappy rash cream and scented oil.
  21. Tell us why Autism Speaks is so evil that we should boycott Northshore.
  22. Betterdry or Crinklz are my favourite overnight nappies. There is practically no UK stock for either right now. The manufacturer says they will be back at the end of this month. Until then, Tena Slip Active Fit Ultima work well for overnight too.
  23. It took me quite a while to figure out what worked best. I started with Abena M4, but they tended to leak out the back of the leg holes. Then, I went with ID Slip super. Those were great, but occasionally leaked in the same spot as Abena. After that, I tried many others, like Wellness brief, ConfiDry, MyDiaper and ABU Space. Most were pretty good, but all had their weaknesses. I eventually found BetterDry, which was the right combination of fit (very full fitting diaper) and leak protection. I use those or crinklz every night now. I couple those with terry cloth training pants and a plastic cover. That combination ensures any leaks are minor and kept away from my bed.
