  1. I haven't grown up yet, but my son is now taller than me, so that is a milestone of some kind...
  2. That was exactly the symptoms I had years ago, and it was caused by an enlarged prostrate. Had that fixed, and the incon urges were far less severe, and for a while controllable. Then the cold weather returned and my IC along with it... So while it didn't work for me, it may well work for you. Certainly worth a try.
  3. The idea of a leak-proof yet breathable pant has great appeal for me, when I am many hours between changes. BTW, these pants are over-sized for diaper use and fit rather well.
  4. OK, after hearing so many good things about PUL pants, I thought I would try a pair. Thanks to Amazon, they took little time to get here and the package was discrete. I just have one problem- what side is out? These are the ones made by Gary, and they do have a tag, but in their packaging the tag was facing out. "Inquiring minds want to know"
  5. Well said TP! My GP is a friend as well- we share a common history. Yet he keeps trying to "convert" me about my diaper needs. I should try a more gentle version of this on him and see what happens.
  6. Short answer- too often. Usually 1-2 times per night, sometimes more.
  7. When I find myself in such a predicament I will use the sit-down toilet for privacy. Then I snake it out through the leg hole and relieve myself.
  8. I have bouts of IC from time to time, and while I can often get by without diapers, I do feel more confident when going out. I hate having to be 2 minutes away from a toilet at all times.
  9. I am underwhelmed by Win8. Two different ways to interact with the machine, neither of which is intuitive. My son looked at it and said- "hey is that Windows 8? It looks just like a phone. That's dumb." I will be sticking to WIn7 myself.
  10. Bought mine through Amazon. twill, and very comfortable after a few washings. I would recommend getting the bigger sizes in stead of thicker, as they will dry faster, and can be folded in mamy ways.
  11. I have tried this on a number of different brands. In each case, I ended up with a diaper that bunched up in the crotch much faster.
  12. For daily drivers, I have an '03 S2000, and the Mr.s has an '02 LS430. Our farm vehicles include a 99 F150, several tractors of various vintages and brands. Each of our DD's is good for another 150,000 miles, so we will keep 'em for a while. Although I have two young teens who will be driving soon- so I may trade the S2000 for an IQ or Smart.
  13. Shop stereo: Zune 80gb feeding an 800watt rack mount amp then into some old Bose speakers from the 80s. Can be heard over my table saw. TV system: Onkyo THX feeding a mixed set of 9 surrounds. Some are home-built, others are in ceiling. The sub woofer is 15" fed by a 500w plate amp. Rattles the third floor windows when a starship flys overhead. HTPC, Blu-Ray, HD-tivo and 60in LCD round out the package. PC: set of those really ugly "alien" speakers by JBL. Looks ugly, sounds good. Whole house is set up to a J-River music server system with a 50,000+ track library of songs. Classic blues from the 30s, up to CeeLo Green.
  14. OK- I needed to start this. I consider myself a "reformed Republican". I voted for Reagan and bought in to the whole party line of minimalist government that Nixon, Reagan and others presented. Then the GOP changed, and wanted less regulation in the business world, and more regulation in my bedroom. They sold their soul to the Far Religious Right, and it turned me off. Now it appears the Republican Party had also sold out our entire country to Big Banks, and wow did we get f^&*ed! Fast forward to modern day, and I am seeing and hearing more from Ron Paul that makes sense than from all the other GOP candidates combined. He has answers for all the tough questions that appear well thought out, and while I do not agree with him on every issue, I do agree with him on all the Really Big Issues. Anyone else feel this way? Who is your Hero come 2012?
  15. I would suggest you try http://www.airoliver.de/ as they seem to have a large selection of pants
  16. I too find my flat birdeye diapers to be the most comfortable, but I use a "Snappi" which keeps the cloth snugged up.
  17. I see these used for infants, so they must work well. Now I'm seeing them show up occasionally in adult sizes, but they are rather expensive. Has anyone been using them? How do they fit? Do they breath well- and are they comfortable in hot weather? How about leaking? How do they last in the wash?
  18. Anyone on your list wanting Apple products? I found that they are having a Black Friday only sale on their web site. The web site is quite slow because of all the traffic, and you may have to try several times before the order goes through (took me over an hour of retries), but there are very few discounts on this stuff. Oh yeah- free shipping too.
  19. You're right. My bad I was confusing the two as they are often coincident. I do know that the image of my son's backpack looked very distorted at the point of each magnetic coupler between all his train pieces. The TSA folks let me see it.
  20. David, This is just the beginning of your life- it is not "all there is". You have already completed two years of college. What did you accomplish there? Degree or vocational? Any certifications? These are all good. Be careful that you do not fall into the trap of thinking that work is all there is to life- life is so much more. You enjoy sailing- good keep it up! Spend your spare time sailing and enjoy it. Learn all you can about sailing, and engage with others who do. Crew on other boats to pick up more skills. What is your body type? if you are small and light, you are an ideal foredeck guy. If you have good upper body strength. learn to be a trimmer. If you are built like me (comfort, not speed) then you are good "rail meat". Work isn't everything- make friends and enjoy the rest of your time. If you have become better rounded, you will perk up when the work day is over. You have something you really enjoy that you are able to do. Very few people get to do that which they enjoy most, and even fewer get paid well for it. Keep in mind that you are free to change jobs at any time. You can even change careers- on average you will do so 3 times in your life. By 22 I had changed careers twice already. At 53 I have changed careers four times now. I still enjoy what I do, but I get my greatest satisfaction from my wife and kids as well as my hobbies. (yeah, I sail too. saltwater is my addiction...) Speaking from personal experience, you are not clinically depressed until you have a hard time getting out of bed in the morning. I've been there and I can assure you, you aren't anywhere close. You have a great work ethic, which shows in how you have become the "go to guy" at your job. Now you need to decide "what kind of job would I enjoy?" Then start working towards that job. Progress in that direction will help pick you up as well. The economy isn't totally dead, and those who can get ahead during these down times are those who will become leaders when it picks up again.
  21. iPads have magnets in them to hold on mag-latched case covers. MacBooks have magnets for the power connector. Many purses have magnetic latches, as do many purse wallets. Eel skin wallets are prone to erasing credit cards because of the magnetic latch commonly used on them. So what do magnets have to do with messing up x-rays? Easy- they bend and distort the path of the radiation as it passes through the viewed items. You can cause the same type of distortion by placing a strong magnet on the top of your old fashioned CRT monitor.
  22. What do ironclad poisonous worms have to do with Diapers in Texas? I haven't used an FSA for several years, but will be going back to that arrangement soon. Anyone who can point to the current regulations on FSA expenses- please do so. It would be very useful for many of us incons. TIA
  23. I fly with regularity, and I have never had a problem with anyone in airport security when traveling for work. I know what things will make them call me aside and I am smart enough to refrain from those whenever possible. Example: I have an aluminum briefcase that contains a very exotic looking piece of prototype electronics. There are times when I need to take it with me, and when I do, I know I will be pulled aside and given extra attention. No big deal, I just arrive 20 minutes earlier than I would normally. Aside from that, I always fly with only carry-on. Clothes, diapers, laptop, Kindle. They see it all, and could care less. Often I have to go through in a wheelchair and/or crutches and they are quite respectful. No explanations are ever needed, or given. I fly throughout North America and Europe, and the only problem I ever had came when my 4 year old son brought his backpack full of "Thomas the Tank Engine" toys. These toys all have magnets, which screw with the xray machines. This phenomenon was not well know to the TSA agents at that time and they gave my son a thorough pat down and wand treatment. Now it is explained to the xray techs and search staff since there are so many magnets in Apple products and high end purses.
  24. XP is fantastic to deal with. My IC goes up and down, so I'm not on a regular delivery schedule. I just call as needed, and they ship like clockwork. Very easy to deal with. I usually call them with my order to make certain that the order will ship from the Ca warehouse- sometimes it doesn't and then I need to get another package or two of crappy diapers from some place local to hold me over.
  25. Like Banter, I had a bad batch first, but this batch was fantastic. No leaks, good fit. Sent from my Desire HD
