Society, people, amd religions evolve. Those who claim belief rarely research the past of those beliefs and texts which would show them just how much has changed and who changed it No religion- none- is as it was a thousand years ago and many are so far removed from that time today for them to make a claim to the past as they do is utterly ludicrous If there is a God and that God is omnipotent, then what the world is today IS Gods will or it could not possibly be like this, now could it? And if we are imperfect with God being perfect, why would God task us to change the world when it's patently clear that we can never get that right being imperfect as we are? And this goes for all monotheistic religions including Islam.

The similarities of MANY religions is actually kind of laughable. The interpretation of just one word or sentence has split religions in two which have actually led to both sides killing each other over which one is more right, or worse yet which one is more benign. If that isn't a bad joke then I don't know what one is.
