  1. So what happened? Did you own up or make something up? What did she say? I'm curious.
  2. I hate asparagus too. I love the taste of it, but there's something really off-putting about waking up to that asparagus smell, especially when I plan to sit around WFH in the same nappy. It's rancid.
  3. It is common across all their nappies. I used to only wear ABU Simple, but then I got fed up with them tearing at the same place. It was during the night or before I'd finished taping up and as I wear for incontinence, I decided they weren't for me. I tried a few others in their range and they also tore in the same place. Tykeables and Rearz are both a step above. To give them credit, I have contacted ABU a couple of times and they've replaced with no fuss ... but ... they shouldn't have to. They should just be proper quality in the first place.
  4. I'm in England - luckily we do seem to have a variety of retailers who stock up on all options. I hear you though, the cost is higher than a medical nappy. My wife doesn't know that I spend extra on these, but the bed is dry and because they're so good, I continue to wear during the day at weekends or when working from home with no worries. Although my using of them during the day is hidden too, as I've said before. I actually thought she'd blow up about me wearing Tykables, but I braved it. One morning while getting ready for work in the morning I stripped off to jump in the shower, whilst in the bedroom and walked to the bathroom wearing just a wet Tykables Unicorn. I was waiting for the "WTF are you wearing?" but nothing came. So I've stuck with them. And now I've added the Tykables booster pads to prolong my usage. Actually, about a month ago we were both ill for a week with some crappy flu-like illness (no, not the current craze) and I wore Unicorns 24/7 for the entire week. Not once did she bat an eyelid. But then the following week I was told off for leaving a "thing" out and not hidden. Sigh.
  5. ABU simples were my go-to nappy for about the last 18 months. Secure, absorbent, not massively expensive and a nice fit. However I had a couple of cases where the right hand side or left hand side would come undone, leaving fluffy padding floating around. To be fair, they replaced the cases free and sorted me out, but I got dubious about the quality vs cost, so I've switched to Tykables and I couldn't be happier. All the new Tykables range follow the same pattern and hook & loop system. I've not had one failure or duff nappy. Yes the are more expensive, but as I wear for genuine need at night, I'd rather pay for the extra security they give. The one other nappy I do like is the good old Rearz Safari. They take loads of liquid, they are thick, they crinkle. What's not to like. But I hope your ABU simples are a better batch than the last few I had. Incidentally, I tried the new ABU hook and loop nappies and didn't like them. The designs were far too busy and the plastic was weird and oily feeling. No thanks.
  6. I've also been trying out booster pads - I opted for the Tykables Dubblers as I'm wear Tykables Unicorns at the moment. My observations; - Yes they add significant thickness if you want to achieve that - You REALLY feel like you're wearing a nappy - The booster will get soaked first, even after 2 decent wettings while the actual nappy is still dry - With the Unicorns, as they are hook and loop, I've been unhooking the lower two tabs, pulling out the booster and putting a dry one in its place. Pull up the nappy, tape it back securely and you're good to go again. - I haven't leaked at night with a booster As you're able to pull the booster out and replace, it works out significantly cheaper than changing your nappy. I went 24 hours in the same Unicorns nappy, but used 3 boosters instead - on the 3rd booster I just kept it on to see how long it would take before EVERYTHING was maxed out. The answer was a long time. So long that I didn't achieve it before I wanted to change for bed. Oh and if you want discreetness, that isn't happening. Even when dry the bulge in my shorts was massive - but still, fun trying and if you want to go through fewer 'premium' nappies and use more boosters, it'll work out cheaper.
  7. This! That's a good point about staying away, that needs more careful planning. I generally wear a quieter nappy under tighter plastic pants and I have these PJ bottoms that are REALLY baggy so they pretty much conceal anythings should I need to leap out of bed with others around.
  8. Disposable nappy and plastic pants to stop it moving around - that's it, unless it's very very cold then I'll throw a t-shirt on too. I'm really hot, my wife complains I'm like a radiator, haha.
  9. Tykables unicorns (as per profile pic) - brilliant!
  10. Our black (household waste) wheelie bin gets emptied every two weeks, alternating with the blue (recycling), green (garden waste) and bottle bin on the other week. Nappies do take up f**k loads of room - half way through the bun cycle (which will be tomorrow), I get a step ladder out, climb on the bin and jump up and down. 95KG of me jumping up and down on the rubbish compresses it enough to fill up with the lid shut. Our black waste here gets incinerated for energy, so I have no worries about landfill wastage.
  11. Another great threadlike Oznl's! As I commented on his thread, my wife accepts that I have to wear nappies at night through genuine need. But at weekends and when I work from home, I change in the morning discreetly and wear all day - I think she's assuming I haven't bothered to change, but I have a feeling that she must know and it's just unspoken about. She'll make me take it off if we go out though and often checks my backside while saying "you're not still padded are you?". She doesn't enjoy playing any games involving nappies, but when she mentions anything to do with them, I get excited. She's generally pretty good though, when I get in from work, especially after a crappy commute like a couple of days ago she will often say "I'm just serving up, go up and get changed" as she knows that I like to get ready for bed when I get in and unwind. She's no issue with me emerging smelling of baby powder and crinkling like a crisp packet across the room (with shorts and t-shirt on) and chilling together. But it can go both ways, like on last Sunday, I went and showered about 4pm and got changed again (for bed - we were feeling incredibly lazy, it was a rubbish weather day and were relaxing), I came down the stairs, she rolled her eyes and chunted away about "parading that around like something you should be proud of" as I head to the bin nappy in hand. Or a few weeks ago when there was a strange car hanging around at 11pm with music (we live in a very quiet street) and I mentioned I'd go and see what they were up to only to be told "don't be silly, you're wearing a nappy" .... yeah, that got me excited! Oops. After many years of wearing nappies, I've decided that premium ones (of the ABDL variety) are the only ones worth buying. They last the longest, they fit the best, they feel the nicest and you need fewer of them. I had been wearing the plain white ABU Simple ones, but over the last year I've ventured out. This month I decided to try Tykables Unicorns. I've been seen by my wife in a pink, unicorn nappy and she hasn't batted an eyelid. In fact randomly last week she sent me a unicorn emoji as an iMessage - I don't know whether that's linked or not, but she's never bothered with emojis before. I think she knows I'm happy and chilled in them so is okay with it too. As a side note, these are definitely the best nappies I've ever worn, without a question. They don't tear, they soak up loads, they don't leak at night (I'm wet 6 nights out of 7 in a week roughly) and they don't stretch over night. But even if you need to readjust, the hook and loop tabs are incredible. Well worth the money! Anyway, just wanted to say what a top thread. I'd love to wear 24/7, but I don't want to ruin what I get away with now. Wearing at night for need is one thing, but not being moaned at for wearing at weekends and when working from home is something I appreciate.
  12. This one; https://www.redbubble.com/people/steve616/works/26413580-abri-form?carousel_pos=2&p=mens-graphic-t-shirt&ref_id=24274321&ref=artist-details-portfolio No wording, just the pattern - it actually looks great and probably like you support some sports team, but other people who also had padded underwear would also know. A great way to meet new people I guess, without going on forums. Yes, I think I would have one.
  13. Agree! Why have you killed this off, it's the best story ever, it's like a soup, I can see it going and going ... please type up some more.

  22. This is probably the most interesting thread I've read in a long time, well done Oznl, please do keep it up and keep us updated. Some of the parallels with my own home life are uncanny and I'm glad I'm not alone, not just Oznl's posts but others. I have to wear nappies at night due to never growing out of bedwetting properly and I do enjoy having some fun with printed nappies - after all, life would be dull otherwise and the "AB" nappies do work SO much better than the medical rubbish. Generally, I get home around 7pm and get changed for bed. My wife massively disapproves, but she's aware that it makes me happy and says nothing. About once ever two months she'll have a whinge about it, fair enough, she does things that annoy me that I sometimes moan about. The post above (or on the previous page) about keeping the same nappy on during the working day peaked my interest. As I do love wearing them, when I'm working from home, I generally sit around in a nappy all day until about 6pm when I'll go for a shower and "get ready for bed" again. But the only thing I do keep hidden is that I actually change in the morning to a clean nappy so I can start again. I am 100% certain that it's known, but nothing is said and we're both happy. Tonight though, the mother in law is staying with us and I'm sat around in normal attire, itching to go to bed, hah! The other thing that caught my attention was the periodic cycle of complaining about it every so often - it is about once every 2 months. It'll be a "you shouldn't need those at your age" or "why do you have that on now when you don't need it", etc. I think it genuinely coincides with us squabbling about something else like a normal married couple. Oznl - very interested to find out more about your gym bin. Are they yours or someone else's? Have you worked it out yet?
  23. I'm on my 3rd pack. I bought a sample pack, then a case of 4 packs - they are absolutely outstanding. I've not had a leak at night, but I guess we're all different in that dept., but they are soft, comfy and the hook and loop tabs are simply brilliant. And no, they won't hold 6000 ml of pee. If you've ever held 6 litres of water, you'll realise that is very heavy ... but it's just a good indicator of the 'thirst' capacity, which to me, when I go to bed not knowing how much I'll wee, is good enough.
  24. As a 70s baby, I think there may have been a choice, but I have no idea. I have 1 or 2 pictures of me and the choice my parents made was definitely cloth and plastic pants ... HUGE pants!
  25. Good grief, only pasta and losing all that water through sweating, they must be blocked up for days ?
