Yep, I don't get it either. Soaker pads are a lot cheaper, and work properly. I did experiment on long walking trips with wearing two pullups at once, with plastic pants over the top. The idea was that I could rip off the inside one when it got too wet, then use the other without having to take half my clothes off in a field. I wondered whether the cloth-type backing of the inner one would wick through if I left it to soak enough, but I never found out whether it did - I switched to using soakers instead.

Little boy jamas. I've got one new one-piece footless one with a drop seat and teddies on it. I'm in that one now. I've got 3 two-piece ones with short sleeves and legs. Mummy thinks I should wear jamas in bed.

Strange days indeed - a 24 x 7 experiment

Well we're OK for chocolate here in the UK, although continental Europe does better IMHO. They've got regulation in many continental countries banning non-milk fat, which we haven't got here. My staple is Cadbury's Dairy Milk Whole Nut, which despite its name contains palm and shea fat. And hazelnuts of course. I like it best straight from the fridge. When we splash out we go for continental brands such as Lindt. US chocolate such as Hershey doesn't really taste like chocolate at all to me. Mummy likes dark chocolate - but that's grown-ups for you. As for crisps, my favourite is salt and black pepper, and the worst I've ever eaten (decades ago) was piccalilli. You used to be able to buy hedgehog flavour crisps here. I suppose they contained about as much hedgehog as smoky bacon crisps contain pig - I hope so anyway. They tasted OK though. -
Oh yes. All the time.

Finished weeding the vegetable patch, mowed the grass, then when the rain started watched the garden flood. It's gone down again now. And I finished building a big Meccano crane - 3 ft high, 4 ft long. It's on the front room table now. Booked a hotel for my back to back littles meets next weekend. Started designing wardrobes for our bedroom. It's been a busy week.

The elastic on those pants looks suspiciously similar to that on the Gary PU pants. If it is the same, that elastic doesn't wick at all, and is very comfy against the skin. That bikini cut is no use to me - my cloth nappies won't fit. They look good though.
-
I'd suggest trying BodyGlide. It's job is to protect skin from chafing, and it doesn't mark clothing etc. In my running days it was invaluable, and once I started wearing nappies for extended periods it helped me a lot, until my skin had hardened up. After a few months of wearing pretty much full-time, I didn't need to user it on a regular basis. I still use it before long walks though.

I can do without that sort of feedback.

They're 'littles' events, and there are always little girls there, including sissies. The first was in Leeds, and the second the Littles Lockin in Edinburgh. You can find them all on Fetlife.

I have two buckets with lids in the outhouse, by the washing machine. Then I've got a dry bag that lives in the bathroom. When there's just me and Mummy here it's on the bathroom floor, and when there's anyone else here it lives in the hidden cupboard under the bath. So my wet nappies go in the dry bag, then every morning I take them down and put them in a bucket. And every two days I wash my nappies. It's all got to be done, and I pretty much do it all, although Mummy will take the washed nappies out of the machine and put them in the dryer sometimes. And sometimes she folds them up when they're dry. No, I don't get any pleasure out of it - it's just got to be done. It's a grown-up thing.

I've got some Lego, but I'm more into Meccano really - my generation. All metal, all second-hand, and a lot of it. I'm building a big crane just now.

Well our younger daughter has gone back to college to do a Masters course, so it's just me and Mummy here now - and Binky of course. So we're back to having to hide my AB side a lot less. I thought I'd give a run-down of last night, as it was a pretty typical night for us, to try to give a flavour of how it all works out here. Night time is baby time for me - during the day there's a lot of grown-up stuff to do as well. At night I'm just a little. I'll start with us sitting watching the television. I was cuddling Teddy. Some evenings I've got my dummy in my mouth as well, but not last night. Ten o'clock came round at the end of the programme, and Mummy said 'Bo-bos time, come on, off to bed'. I was sleepy so I wasn't going to make a fuss. I kissed Mummy and took Teddy upstairs to our bedroom, and put Teddy in bed. I dug a terry nappy and a washable soaker out of the bag under the bed and laid my overnight nappy out on the bed. I always use a Chinese fold, so I've got this down pretty well. I laid out a Snappi and two big safety pins next to my nappy. I got my jamas out from under the pillow and laid them out on the pillow ready to put on. This week it's my baby blue jamas with the big teddy on the front. Top off, shortalls off, onesie off, and then it was off to the bathroom in just my soggy nappy and plastic pants. I'd been in my nappy all day, so it was pretty heavy. In the bathroom, and first thing is to brush my teeth. As usual I started wetting my nappy while I was brushing. After this, nappy off and into the wet nappy bag - I use a 'dry bag' for this, as used by canoeists. My plastic pants were good for overnight, so I put them to one side to take into the bedroom. Shower next. Really I should have shaved, but I was too tired, so I'll do that tonight. That'll be everything from neck down to knees, so it takes a while. I'll shave my face at the sink tonight. I shave once or twice a week, and I hate having to do it. Anyway, shower over, dry off and it's back to the bedroom. Time to put my nappy on. I love this bit, although I'd love it even better if Mummy would change me. I lay back on the bed and pinned my clean overnight nappy snugly round me. Very secure, no risk of leaks, and no chance of an erection until morning - it really is a snug fit, and I'd be pointing down until the nappy comes off (btw it's still on now as I type). Plastic pants on, jamas on, dummy in mouth, and I hopped into bed. I lay down on my back, Teddy in my right arm, Pickle Bunny in my left arm, and Peter Rabbit in between. I read a few pages of a Moomin book until I went to sleep. Much later, Mummy came up to bed. I half woke up as she got into bed, put Pickle Bunny on the floor, and took my dummy out of my mouth. (Pickle Bunny is a great big stuffed rabbit and there isn't room for all of us in bed at once.) Then Mummy fed me a bottle of warm milk, put my dummy back in my mouth, and I went off to sleep again. At some point I must have half woken up to wet - I don't think I've ever wet in my sleep. Anyway I woke up in the early hours and cuddled Mummy until she rolled onto her back and raised her right arm so I could snuggle into her booby. I suckled for probably 20 minutes as Mummy went back to sleep. Then she rolled onto her right side, and I suckled on the other booby. Then I snuggled my face between her boobies for another 10 minutes. Baby heaven. Eventually I spoke for the first time since I'd gone up to bed. 'Is it waking time Mummy?'. Mummy checked the clock and told me it probably was. 'Can I get up Mummy?' Mummy said yes so I kissed her and got out of bed. I brought Teddy and my bottle downstairs, got some breakfast and decided to post this. So I'm sitting here in a very wet overnight nappy, plastic pants, teddy jamas, a Harry Potter dressing gown and my red slippers. ...and that's pretty much how it goes every night. I'm a lucky baby.

I helped to get Mummy's breast milk flowing when she had our kids, with encouragement from the visiting nurse. She was a bit hesitant about suggesting it, not wanting to gross us out, but of course that was never going to happen. And no, the nurse wasn't present when we did this! Unfortunately Mummy never had spare milk for me. I didn't want to get my AB side mixed up with bringing up real babies, so these was no more breast milk for me, unfortunately. I sort of went into the closet again until the kids had grown up. Now I'm on the breast nightly, but no milk of course. Mummy feeds me a bottle every night though.

We're still holding out here. I'm still in shortalls or shorts during the day, and the heating's not on yet. Our bedroom window's still open. I'm still picking courgettes (zucchini) in the garden as well. But colder weather's coming, so I'll be in dungarees soon.

I've never had a Rearz onesie, so perhaps I ought to get one to road test. I'm very impressed with ABU onesies though. Once I found which ones were the right size (medium long for me) I haven't looked back. Great heavy duty material, good cut to cover my cloth nappies completely. One's had a couple of popper failures, probably due to a bad batch of poppers, but other than that, they're perfect for me.

Strange days indeed - a 24 x 7 experiment

It's probably just as well. We'd be getting pretty whiffy by the end of the 24 hours. -
Has my Covid shot on Wednesday. My arm was slightly sore on Thursday, then I was red hot all night Thursday night. I was fine after that, & slept OK last night. My flu jab is on Wednesday. My other half's immunity system is dodgy, so I try not to take chances. Off to a big AB get-together today, so I thought I'd better get the Covid jab in before that.

They exist so I can go on ridiculously long walks without chafing. No other reason as far as I can see, so I'm surprised they're economically viable. I don't go on those walks that often, after all.

3+ years 24/7 and counting, an update on my journey
Stroller replied to Babyhawkeye's topic in Incontinent-Desires
Me too. I just let things happen. It doesn't worry me whether I wet in my sleep or not. Wetting the rest of the time just happens anyway these days, without me having to think about it. As an AB, not feeling responsible for my wetting and not worrying about it is part of what I am these days. The key to it all was way back when I cracked how to nappy myself securely for both day and night, and when I started wearing onesies full-time so there was no risk of anyone inadvertently seeing my nappy or plastic pants. Since then I've just steamed ahead as a confident toddler. -

...but not for everybody. I'm over 3 years into full-time wearing and still haven't wet in my sleep, as far as I'm aware. There's no reason I can see, as I wet pretty much automatically the rest of the time without even thinking about it. -
I've got all the Asterix books in French and every now & then I read them all again. I just love them. They're really a lot funnier in French, as there's a lot of visual puns that don't translate. They work for both my little and adult sides at the same time. The better your French, the more you can get out of them. Back in the day when I started collecting them, if you bought a French language Asterix book in the UK there was usually a crib sheet in English explaining what was going on when it wasn't obvious. They were really useful.

No. Is it just a solution in search of a problem? My cynical adult side suspects so. Same with powder. Anyway, I use neither (& we didn't while we were raising our real kids either). Sudocrem to avoid & treat rashes and friction sores and that's about it. I still use Bodyglide sometimes, but only when preparing for a long walk. My baby side doesn't worry about any of that, as long as I don't get sore.

Have you ever gotten tired of diapers? 🤔
Stroller replied to diapered charles's topic in Diaper Lovers
No. Never. I don't look back, instead I march merrily into the future, securely nappied for ever. I really can't see that ever changing. I've worn full-time for years now, and never regretted it for a moment. -

Well that buries for good my vague intention to try epilation at some point. I've put it off for a long time, but now that's for ever. I'll stick to my trusty disposable razor. No idea what the crack about the weather here's about though: it's already 8am & it hasn't rained all morning. So far. As for needing some wine, I'm drinking on a 2 months off, 1 month on basis this year. For my health mostly, but it's saving a shedload of money on the side. I've just done July and August dry, and today's the 1st of September. Tonight I'm camping out, ready for 5am start tomorrow, walking 45 miles across Wales. The wine's already packed, as are the necessary nappy changes. If I feel 'not too bad' tomorrow night I'll be doing pretty well. I can feel my upper lip stiffening as I type, in anticipation.
