Story with linguistic gymnastics?
Cute_Kitten replied to Torgen's topic in Critiques and Writer's Discussion
I like the idea of Hanako's death being a prologue/ preamble. It gives the readers the context they need to understand Hanako. If that doesn't work you could also have a scene of two teachers talking and they discuss Hanako and her story. Or have a student ask an older teacher so the teacher can provide both student and readers with the info. If none of that works you can always do an author's note and just tell readers what they need to know before starting the story. There's many methods and ways to weave the I fo into your story- choose whichever one works the best for you! Good luck! It sounds like a fun story. I think there was an anime about Hanako too -
Getting back to the rules. I think they are fine as they are. AI stories and AI assisted all belong in the AI section. Not everyone wants to read AI stories so keeping AI in its own section makes it easier for those readers. Anyone can browse both member stories and the AI section for any particular themes etc they want to read. Since the stories are free to read I'm not sure if the board needs to worry about copyright etc violations regarding AI and it's lack of integrity. (There's a number of lawsuits from authors and publishers because some AI models were trained with illegal pirated books. Which is really shitty IMO and I hope the authors and publishers win their lawsuits but this is getting off topic). It is another reason AI should be in its own section. As for enforcing the rules, the only way I can logically see is just relying on the honor system?

Thank you for mentioning me on the "Best Stories on DD" thread. Very kind of you and I'm glad you enjoy my stories enough to recommend them!

Congratulations! Enjoy the fruits of your hard work and savor the truimph!

Thank you for the work and care you put into the story section as a mod.

I agree completely. AI generated or AI augmented, both belong in the AI category since both bring up the same concerns. They are not stories written and authored by members. So they do not belong in the members story section. Separating non-AI and AI also makes it easier for readers to find stories. Some readers may not mind AI stories but some readers only want human-written stories with no AI involved. Their feelings on that may be why should they waste their valuable time reading something a bot churned out instead of a story another human spent time and effort and skills to craft for their enjoyment? Other readers may not mind AI at all; they just want stories that cater to a specific theme or personal preference. Those readers can easily browse both sections for stories easily. Having the AI generated and AI augmented in one AI section saves readers who only prefer non-AI stories the hassle of finding them. The non AI stories are conveniently located in one section for them.

There's a HUGE difference in humans learning how to write through their lived experiences and efforts and feeding samples into an AI bot. The only works that AI bots should be fed are works in the public domain. There are huge ethical concerns with AI training. The New York Times has filed a lawsuit against OpenAI for copyright violation. Some big name publishing houses have updated their copyright notices to prohibit their works from being used for AI training.

I hope he pulls through. The family is in my thoughts and prayers.

I'm glad you're enjoying the ride! 😁 There's still a few big important events coming up and I hope readers are pleasantly surprised though some parts might be predictable or readers might have picked up so.e foreshadowing cues so they already know what direction the story is heading in. Thank you for commenting it brightened up my day. I always enjoy hearing what people think about the story. 😊

Very nice to see an update to this story and I'm glad it's going to continue. Well done as always. Things have definitely taken a darker turn with the murders and calls into question how safe Adam and the others truly are. It also makes me wonder if Adam ever truly did reach a breaking point and wanted out no matter the cost or consequences of breaking the contract etc, would Steve actually let him go? The more the story progresses, the more I believe Steve is a selfish person. He sees Adam as a posession, a thing, a toy or a pet. Sure he cares about Adam on some level- the same way someone might care for a prized posession or a favorite pet, not as a romantic partner he loves with autonomy of their own. As for the sex, I don't see it as coerced. Adam was certainly reluctant at first but Steve convinced him. As WB already said, Adam willingly participated and enjoyed it. IMO Adam was only reluctant because to him it felt like an inappropriate time with the murders and all and he was still rattled and scared from that.

I think there is a difference between using AI as a support tool to help an author with a story- things already mentioned like spell and grammar check, keeping track of character names, settings and places, and even keeping track of plot lines etc in longer works. That's different than using AI to do the actual writing part- like "Hey AI, write me a story set in Ancient Egypt about Pharaoh Tutankhamun the boy king wetting his bed and his nanny puts him back in cloth diapers at night." And letting AI do all the work and heavy lifting. Then there are the "hybrid" attempts I've seen where a person will take an AI written story from a prompt they fed the AI, tweak or "edit" the story and claim they 100% wrote the story. I've seen people who will feed AI prompts scene by scene, cobble those AI written scenes together and call that a story they wrote and call themselves an author. 🤷♀️. Sure anyone can do that and is free to do that. Heck what I've heard through the digital grapevine is places like Fiver are having problems with "authors" and "artists" selling "story commissions" and "art commissions" that turn out to actually be AI generated and leaving the customers unhappy. 🤷♀️ If someone wants to generate themselves an AI written story they can. I think the problem comes in when they want to publicly post that story or put it up for sale on a site like Amazon and pass themselves off as an author without letting people such s readers know it is AI. It's the same as someone using AI to generate art and calling themselves an artist.

Some readers do not like AI written stories, so either a rule requiring them to be labeled or a separate section for them would be very helpful IMO. Maybe this is a separate topic, but if someone uses AI to write a story for them, can they really say they're the author of that story? Just touching on what Baby pants mentioned in a post about who gets credit of authorship for AI stories. (But maybe that's a subject for a different post or discussion?)

I appreciate many ice cream flavors but my favorite is chocolate with oreo crumbles and caramell syrup and some whipped cream on top. Maybe a couple of marachino cherries.

Every day should be a diaper day! JK JK The non-diaper gamers out there are missing out. Nothing beats an intense gaming session or a grind with no bathroom breaks!

I don't know what file it is, but I've come across some hypnosis files on internet archives. I've seen some of the same files on warped my mind, so maybe that site will have the one you're looking for. They've got tons of ABDL/ diaper/ incontinence files so they might have it there. Good luck in your search.

I don't think the poll showed? At least it doesn't show up for me.

Everywhere! Though the level of padding varies. Either a diaper or a pullup depending upon how long I'm going to be out and what I'm doing and the weather if I'm going to be outside a lot. My daily and nightly go-to is a nice thick absorbent plastic backed diaper (hellooo Megamax!) but sometimes I go for a more discrete, less crinkly cloth backed diaper (helloo Rearz Active Air or Northshore GoSupreme Pullups). I've worn diapers to the zoo, to the dentist, to the mall, to the post office, to the grocery store, to school, etc. Anywhere life takes me lol! Sometimes I want more discretion so I wear a thinner cloth backed diaper even if it means more frequent diaper checks and diaper changes in public restrooms (in the privacy of a closed stall of course lol). Sometimes I don't want to worry about needing a diaper change so I'll wear a thick plastic backed diaper.

When life gives you free diapers, enjoy them! 😂 That's an awesome surprise!

When insomnia hits usually end up wither watching weird stupid videos on youtube like predictions of a psychic boxer of when the world will end. (Hint: he was wrong. very wrong. The world was supposed to end last year at the solar eclipse 😂) Or I'll end up reading since I have a bookshelf right by my bed. Sometimes I'll write. Sadly the times I've done that it's all ended up useless gibberish. 🤣
