  1. Of manufactured goods, you can bet your butt that Disney royalties were paid before they got to market. They're very possessive about their ownership rights and who they license them to. Bettypooh
  2. I'm a bit short on time this morning, but yes having odd 'pains', twitches, and the like usually happens. You're changing a 'normal' pattern and you're initially going to be more aware of these things because of your focus on your new goal. They differ for everyone, so as long as they subside it's nothing to worry about. Bettypooh
  3. Like Freta, I too use the toilet as a means of saving capacity and costs, just not always. In the mornings with my coffee flushing through me and the vacant bathroom a few steps away it's the better choice for me; I could overflow a premium diaper easily in well under an hour then. And TBH I like wearing my wet nighttime diaper most mornings so to avoid drips and puddles, it's an 'either/or' decision. Since I shower soon after it's no problem.I also use the toilet a few times at work most days, though the results are variable. It's not really "cheating", I can and have been diapers-only for long times too. You should make a portable "crash bag" that you can toss in whatever car you're using if one isn't there permanently. Something innocent-looking like a cloth grocery bag tossed onto the seat or floor where you'll see it easily when you get back home. You really have to consider which "evil" is best here- an unfixable public leak and wet car seats or the hassles involved. I too got some weird feelings from my bladder when everything began settling into my new 'normal'.I think that it was my sphincters trying to figure out what to do; I know what a detrussor spasm is having had those all my life and this was different. In time those faded away, and everything down there somehow felt 'calmer' and better. As long as nothing gets worse andcthere's no other indications of problems I wouldn't worry about it too much. Same as with anything we each have our own wishes and paths, and all will vary. As long as you do what's best for you everything works out in the end Bettypooh
  4. So sorry to hear this Rusty. It's been a year since I lost my Mom and it does take time to get through something this deeply meaningful to you. Just know that the love was there and in time that will once again take place of the pain, with the happier memories overcoming the sadder ones. Peace be with you, Bettypooh
  5. Lots of folks find it gets better to pull up roots and make a clean start elsewhere. It's a tough thing to do but it can help. It's not going to change your tendencies, only give you a fresh chance to address them without outside influence keeping you down. Much of what you note here are common characteristics of Clinical Depression which is a physical disease as much as a mental one, and there can be help with that. I think that you'd do well to speak with a Therapist to help you sort out what you should be doing to make life better. They can help you find direction and help you keep from feeling so overwhelmed. Life can be good but that always takes work to make it that way, so you really need to start addressing your issues in a better way which is exactly what Therapy does for you. Bettypooh
  6. Nothing strange of unusual here. While I'm not looking for a "Mom" or anyone like my Mom,, I do need someone who would motivate me to get things done and who would give me sympathy and understanding when my feelings are hurt' traits typically ascribed to "Moms". In my wild and varied life I've seen all kinds, and TBH more guys seek this kind of support privately than you'd imagine. Bettypooh
  7. I doubt that there's any difference between us and any other group regarding the percentage who have depression or it's severity. It's about the same wherever you look. If there is anything as a link it's probably the self-repression most of us have with this making existing depression worse. Self-acceptance goes a long way to helping with that. Bettypooh
  8. All I know on where you stand is that if you're standing in a puddle of pee, it's time to change your diaper Bettypooh
  9. What I've found is easy to find- generally news reports and articles which had the backing of well known institutions. I didn't go looking for any of it nor am I going to. It doesn't much matter to me personally anyway. Nobody can offer conclusive proof with the matter so why argue it? And it seems by your references that you're reading something political into this which is a BS approach- the people you cite are politicians who are no more qualified than you or me to state something as fact, so it's all just opinion at this point and those will always differ. Politics has nothing to do with this until someone can come up with solid verifiable and incontestable proof which at best is still years away if it can ever be done. The truth is that right now nobody knows for sure what is going to happen and to what level we have and can influence it. Even the most respected scientists are all over the map with this and neither you or I can do any better than them. Bettypooh
  10. Dang, I thought I'd replied here but I see I didn't. It seems you're doing well, but as this varies so wildly among us I have to wonder why you seek to know how well you're doing? If you're giving something your best shot that is all you can do, and that rates as A+ 100%. Nobody can do anything more than relate their own experiences, and we ain't you so that is relevant only in a general way. I was "helped along" with some of my incontinence being from physical problems (what they now call "mixed incontinence") which made it easier for me than it is for most. And the totality is questionable with me- I can exert some control successfully some of the time though it is never assured or long-lasting. And I rarely wet in my sleep. Just do your best to get to wherever you want to go in life- with enough time and effort you'll probably get there And even if you never get there totally, you're always going to be closer than you were when you started with hope for more progress to come Bettypooh
  11. When my SI/UI/OAB "mixed incontinence" went belong my ability to control it and exceeded thr capacity of pads, I switched over to diapers both from want as well as it being the easiest way to deal with it. I do not and never have liked taking Meds except as the last resort, and having done some research I concluded that a 'sheath' wasn't going to be an option for my short 'endowment'. Even without my DL tendencies I'm sure I would have wound up here anyway as it's the only workable solution for me. Bettypooh
  12. I'd recommend that you both look at and move your questions HERE to the "Incontinent Desires" forum as there has been much discussion on this topic there as well as many people with their own experiences to share. I doubt there's anyplace in the world with more information on cath use with diapers than you'll find here Bettypooh
  13. I once worked with a man who madly loved his wife and she madly loved him too. I later discovered that my Mom had worked with his wife, and she also told the same story so I can only presume it was true. Every time they talked, if it took more than a few words to respond an argument would break out which both of them hated having happen. So they simply avoided conversing to where a simple 'yes' or 'no' answer would be sufficient. Anything which needed further discussion was done by leaving notes for each other to read and respond to. That eliminated the arguments so that's how they lived together happily for over 40 years. When two people truly and deeply love each other they will find a way to make the relationship work. But both have to agree to the method and both have to do things only that way or it's not going to work. Perhaps the upcoming "time off" will ease your need to wear constantly and that might be enough to keep your spouse on board. It doesn't seem to me like she's going to increase her own tolerance for you being constantly in diapers but it's still possible. The only certainty here is that if an agreement cannot be reached where each is happy enough to keep the relationship going, then it will end, at least in it's current form. There may be ways like my example above that can keep things going even if the rest of the world might think the method is crazy but what the rest of the world thinks doesn't matter here, and if there is to be any hope some satisfactory solution must be found that both can live with. I never give up hope and I never give up trying, but I know my own limits and as hard as it is to see love lost I will leave when my limits are reached. I lost a lot when I left my last relationship but had I not left I wouldn't be here now. I'm still not certain that it was worth it but I am alive, and that means there is some hope left that someday I won't be alone any more. So give it your best shot and try anything that might work no matter how crazy it seems, but don't be pushed out of life or hope over it. Whatever else happens you must go on toward your bliss whether she's there with you or not. I hope you can find your bliss together somehow. Bettypooh L
  14. Whatever the cause may be, there's no denying that the polar ice is shrinking and that it will raise sea levels. Even if we could pinpoint the human-caused parts of the problem and change them 100%, that will not immediately end the effect. Nor will it reverse it immedately either. Pretty much all the scientists and climatologists agree that it takes a global-wide change of a few degrees to cause major changes in the global climate and most of them agree we're at that point now. It's also clear that nature causes temperature variations cyclically so if that's the main cause of what we're seeing we aren't going to be able to do much about it. You can stand at a cliff without problems. You can lean forward there without problems. But if you lean too far nothing short of a full-scale miracle will stop your fall and there's only luck left to determine the chances of your survival. We humans are at that cliff's edge and we are leaning. I'm not sure how far we've leaned but I am sure that we'd be smarter if we would try leaning back some Bettypooh
  15. Wearing and using are two different things. If you're actually use them as intended, then fit becomes the most critical factor as even a better diaper can leak if it doesn't fit well. Everyone's body is shaped differently and we have different habits of movement too, so all you can do is try different diapers till you find one which works for you- and hopefully you'll like it Most online diaper retailers offer samples which is the best place to start. Those usually cost a lot per diaper but are less expensive than a bag of something you can't use Sizing isn't standard with adult diapers, so if you're at the edge of one size a change in brand or style may mean you need a different size; another good reason to do samples first. And whenever you're trying a new diaper, first do some test-wearing at home where leaks aren't as big an issue as they would be out in the real world. Also don't let your supply run too low as manufacturing and shipping problems do sometimes happen and will take time to mitigate. Once you settle on one diaper (or a few different ones) pay some attention to how it absorbs and what warning signs it gives when you near it's capacity limits. Many but not all will be soaked in front before you feel wetness in behind. Some can go a lot longer from there and some can't. Last but important is skin care. Wash the diaper area well when showering, stretching the skin some to open the pores for deeper cleaning. If you pay enough attention to this you can probably do without a barrier creme. If you do ever have skin issues, address them at the first sign of problems to keep them from getting out of hand. Itchiness is usually the first sign of trouble brewing. This may also produce an effect in wearing time, as those with more sensitive skin usually need more frequent changes to avoid problems. Finding your happiness in diapers may take awhile but don't become frustrated- there is something out there somewhere that will do what you want of it. Once you find it you'll also find it was well worth the effort it took to get there Bettypooh
  16. I don't know the setup, but perhaps you can change at a restaurant during a meal. Or intentionally forget a needed item in your hotel room. Or similarly discover a need for a trip to the pharmacy (do you call them "Chemists" like the UK does?) for cough medicine or something plausible like that, then change during that process. If there's positively no way to do a change then use a stuffer at the start which can be removed and dumped without the need to bring anything into the bathroom. And do consider which might be worse- the risk of problems doing a change or the certainty of a problem should your diaper leak? Not too long ago I was stuck living with a co-worker on a distant job, and with me providing our transportation there was no way I could see to manage private changes. We were working on vacant apartments in an otherwise populated community with people all around constantly. I had to make my diaper changes happen on-scene as chances presented themselves wherever we were, once even changing behind the community dumpster (tip) as I took the trash out very early one morning. Those changes were never stretched and sometimes had to be an hour or more earlier than usual just because I knew it might be my only chance for the next several hours. I found discreet disposal was my biggest problem and sometimes my suitcase held a couple double-bagged and ziplocked used diapers until I could dump them discretely. When you wear and use diapers 24/7 you will learn to be ready to take advantage of the situation quickly whenever a chance to change occurs, and you'll learn ways of arranging privacy for changing and disposal without drawing undue attention to yourself simply because you now have to. 17. i put on considerable weight in the last year and it's not going away. For the forseeable future I've given up on dieting to lose it, only trying to not make things worse With my metabolism already adjusted to a minimal caloric intake I'd have to be starving to lose what I've gained and I'm not ready to handle that kind of stress. Maybe someday I can try again. Bettypooh
  18. When land-based ice enters water it begins melting. And ice is full of freeze-locked air so it is buoyant with some of it above the water level. The cause isn't relevant in this- the effect is the same regardless of the cause. On top of this is the fact that many coastal areas are actually sinking in relation to the main land mass they are a part of. After the Tohoku earthquake in Japan many areas on Honshu sank up to one meter with some then rising to exceed their original elevation and others not. I've not researched it deeply but in what I've found based on the current trends and probable future, the seas will be rising for many decades to come and that will be from 1/3m to over 1m according to whose data you have at hand. Coupled with sinking land there are several coastal cities that will lose much of their area to the seas. While a small rise in sea level may seem insignificant, it can greatly affect flooding patterns when storms strike those affected areas magnifying the effects we feel. Seacoasts have always been ever-changing throughout all of history so those who live there have always been at risk of loss. It's just part of living with nature. Bettypooh
  19. If you just have to wear something then it needs to be a cloth "swim diaper" which only retains feces but will not split or come apart in use. If that happens, not only will you be leaving a trail of pulp behind you, it will be sticking to your legs when you leave the water for all to see And once you're discovered you'll probably be banned from returning because diaper pulp clogs the pool filters and piping pervasively- probably the toughest mess to clean with them there is. If it's a 'membership' usage there's probably a specific prohibition on wearing diapers in the rules or agreement which you signed. That can leave you legally liable for the costs invoked by your diaper use With the risk of the filtration not working properly or the pump being damaged they may close the pool until it's fixed which you may be held liable for anyway, even in a public or hotel pool It's simply not worth the risk. If you're urinary Incontinent, try to void just before changing into your swimsuit then go straight to the pool. They never let your suit dry out- instead jump back in so it stays wet. If you're fecal incontinent follow fillemup's advice above. The 'public accommodations' part of the ADA won't help you here because body wastes are treated as a health hazard which takes precedence. If like me you can't handle being undiapered for emotional reasons, then wear a cloth swim diaper or training pants. If you want to do it in your own pool, go ahead but you'll end the practice once you discover how tough it is to clean up after even one small diaper failure. Bettypooh
  20. I used to install the bathroom partitions here, which are made by just a few companies, as part of my construction work. What we get is the result of the dimensions given in the installation instructions being too 'loose' which I think is done intentionaly since that makes them wear out faster so they can sell more product Sometimes you're stuck with doing it their way due to the layout, but where I could I reduced the gaps to give the customer a better job.I've even been complimented on those installs which is kind of awkward but it's in my blood to never do substandard work so... The stalls we use here are poor designs which could be improved without a lot of expense, but the way building construction is done keeps us with using lesser and cheaper instead of better with just a modest increase in cost I haven't been elsewhere so I can't comment on that but I know for sure we could do better because I've done it Bettypooh
  21. While you're there, look in the paint section where you'll find white snap-on lids for 5 gallon paint buckets, along with that kind of bucket in various colors. Mine is a pretty turquoise color With the lid snapped tightly they're airtight, but they are a b!tch to get off that way so I just press the lid down gently in the center which will do well enough in containing odors. Hals a box of baking soda at the bottom helps too. To empty it I gently remove the lid, put a trash bag over it, then flip the bucket over. There might be a big blast of odor in that process so beware, but otherwise it's an effective and cheap way to deal with used diapers Bettypooh
  22. Nobody is being forced into anything there. It's up to the owners to decide what they want to do with their store, and anyone who doesn't like it can go elsewhere. It's only where non-involved people have little or no choice about being somewhere that I feel discretion could be a good mandate. Knowing how sensitive a lot of us are about publicity I would have recommended to the owners that they might be wiser putting the ABDL section in a less exposed area but that's all. Bettypooh
  23. It does need to be mentioned before a relationship gets serious enough for someone to get hurt by the news should it be a deal-changer for them. Where that time happens is up to you to determine, but it does come along and it needs to by happening by then. Bettypooh
  24. If there's no way to see the terms you would be agreeing to that would render the contract legally invalid, You'd need a lawyer to look into that but if true, then you can sue for damages as well as all the costs involved. By law all contracts must have everything each party is agreeing to clearly spelled out in them, and only what is described is enforceable. If they didn't have this then it's clear-cut fraud and there's a big chunk of money to be had. Bettypooh
  25. For crud-coated cookware, put water in it then put it on or in the stove and cook the crud back off. Works like a charm. Diswasher not doing the job? Try using less detergent, not more. The compounds which replaced phosphates stop being effective if there's too much of them. Especially good with glassware spotting and haze. Stop wasting money on plastic clips to close plastic bags. Use "Acme" clips after folding the bag a few times. 10 for a dollar and they won't loosen or fall off. You can reseal those bags like factory with a cheap hair-straightening iron: start in the middle, slide sideways, then do the other side. Coffee pot hazy? Clean with a brush and ice cold water- heat makes the residue adhere and smear instead of coming off. Use fabric-covered hair scrunchies instead of rubber bands for cable storage. No more gummy residue and won't break. Semi-solid canned foods like cranberry sauce and dog food wants to stick in the can. Poke a hole in the bottom after opening and blow through it to push the contents out. Need "C" size batteries but only have "AA" size? Wrap the smaller ones in paper or cardboard, they're the same length. Tons of house-hold hacks online but many are more trouble than they are worth or rely on specific products which are different where you live. Bettypooh
