  1. Brian, why do you need authorization to get incontinence supplies?
  2. I became incontinent as the result of an unexpected side effect of surgery when I was 14 years old in 1956. So I've now been living with bladder-control issues for 68 years. Becoming incontinent as a young teenager was devastating, in fact so devastating that I contemplated suicide. So I definitely understand how some people feel that incontinence has their lives. However, fortunately, I didn't kill myself. And I came to appreciate the sensuality that diapers can provide and realized that I did not have to suffer from incontinence and could to a degree even enjoy it. Unfortunately, many people living with incontinence never get beyond the suffering stage.
  3. Just go to a medical supply store and buy what. you want. You don't ned to tell your urologist anything.
  4. My incontinence started as the result of a surgical mishap when I was 14 years old. After the surgery, I bled excessively and developed what started out as a urinary tract infection which spread throughout my body and nearly killed me. None of my doctors have been able to describe exactly how these events affected my urinary system. But I developed urge incontinence that has persisted for many years. I'm not reliably dry at night and have sudden "urges" to pee that result in daytime leakage unless I can get to a bathroom within a very few minutes.
  5. If you have only recently started to wet again after a prolonged period of being dry at night, you should consult a doctor. Starting to wet at age 19 is unusual despite a history of childhood enuresis. If something is wrong (such as a urinary tract infection), you might also start having daytime problems. Get it checked out to be on the safe side.
  6. Would this desired dependence on a diaper for sexual pleasure rule out having sexual intercourse with a partner?
  7. 'The high likelihood of wetting my pants is the reason I always wear a diaper if I'm going anywhere where I might not be able to get to a toilet quickly when the need to pee arises.
  8. If I wet without waking up, being in a diaper means that diaper gets wet but the bed stays dry. And if I wake up needing to pee, using the diaper means that I don't have to get up to go to the bathroom.
  9. In the front of many brands of diapers, the top edge of the diaper is an inch or so above the top or the absorbent pad inside the diaper. I fold the top edge of the diaper down inside toward, and if it reaches, over the top of the absorbent pad. Insuring that I am pointing down inside the diaper is also very important.
  10. Over the. years, I have had many variations of what is basically the same dream. I'm somewhere in front of a sizeable audience giving a speech or answering questions when I realize that I'm not wearing any trousers over my diaper. No one seems to have noticed the diaper until after I notice it, at which point they begin laughing and calling me "diaper boy."
  11. It's been over 70 years since I wore rubber pants that came in a cardboard tube. So my memory is a bit hazy. However, I think that the tubes looked approximately like your picture.
  12. If I'm staying at home or just going out for an hour or so for like grocery shopping, I only wear at night. However, if I'm going somewhere where it would be hard or impossible to get to a bathroom when an "urge" strikes, I wear a diaper during the day.
  13. I'm very much an old geezer. I grew up in the 40's and 50's. So I wore cloth diapers as a baby and toddler. I also wore real rubber pants that came in a card board tube at first before plastic pants arrived on the scene.
  14. I didn't learn to tie my shoes until I was in grade 2 (7 years old).
  15. I can remember watching New Year's Eve TV shows in 1950.
  16. One of the highest capacity major brands is the NorthShore MegaMax. With moderate fluid consumption, a single MegaMax could last you for the whole trip.
  17. For the past few years, I've been ordering from Healthwick.
  18. I also rarely get a diaper rash. But when I do, I’ve found that athletes’ foot cream heals it faster than anything else.
  19. My story is the same as that of Redneck Diaper Boy.
  20. I find that I can usually remove MegaMax tapes without ripping the underlying landing zone provided that I do it slowly and am careful.
  21. Suburb of Toronto, Ontario, Canada
  22. I also had a hard time learning to tie my shoes. I actually learned to pin on my own cloth diapers before I learned to tie my shoes.
  23. I am incontinent. Diapers permit me to need a very nearly normal life. Without diapers, I would be housebound and unable to sleep in a normal bed.
  24. Sherri, I think that the chance of your not "getting caught" during your week-long trip to the UK is slim. And in my opinion, getting caught hiding diapers is likely to lead to a worse outcome than telling your buddies that you are wearing diapers because you "need to". I've needed to share a room with a colleague during trips on three or four occasions. And telling my roommate about my need for diapers has always worked out OK. However, there's one important difference between you and me: I actually do need to wear diapers for a medical reason. However, I have avoided going into a detailed discussion of my medical condition. Another thing that I've done on more than one occasion when it was not essential to make the trip is deciding not to go. And that's the surest way not to prevent friends from not finding out about your diapers.
