  2. It really is crazy how quickly tastes can change. In an attempt to cut sodas out as much as possible I've been stocking my fridge with sparkling waters for those times when I just need something other than tap water. I disliked the first one so much that I couldn't even finish it, but after the pack was gone I found myself craving more (even preferring them over soda in general after a while).
  3. I am going on vacation with my better half for the next week. I know this week is going to be tough. I am hoping for zero gain. A weight loss might be too much to hope for. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using Tapatalk
  4. It's funny how quickly our bodies can shift gears. I was a 4-5 coke's a day guy for pretty much my whole adult life, but after two weeks of trying to be good I'm down to like 1 every 2-3 days. Water is enough for me most of the time. Gatorade when when at the gym.
  5. Just hit 20lbs myself. at least 50 to go.
  6. I have been serious about weight loss since February. I weigh daily and record my meals and track my activity. The daily weigh-ins provide feedback that helps me gauge how well I am doing. It's normal for weight to jump around a bit, but if I am doing things right, there is steady weight loss over the week. On food, I do not count calories or points. I eat moderate portions of lean proteins, healthy fats, and fresh vegetables and fruits. For activities I try to get 10,000 steps in each day and i have been working at getting some form of strength training in a few times each week. So far I have lost 20 lbs. As i go further i expect to hit some plateaus where i don't lose weight for a while. I have another 50 lbs to lose to get to a good weight.
  7. 50 years ago, I got into the " 50 possibles " for the BMW touring car test team. When they explained to us the lengths they went to to lighten the cars, we were all a bit taken aback when they told us that they wanted us to do our part and loose 5 kilos. Their suggestion was B: keep off the beer - M: no snacks, regular modest meals - W: drink a large glass of warm water before a meal and another cold one after. I was a fairly trim 6'1" - 165 lb, but without noticing it, I lost the 5 kilos in a fortnight, down to 155 lb, and managed to keep it off for a couple of years.
  8. Getting more exercise and trying to loose weight. Down 15 pounds so far, and feeling better and hve more energy since I started hitting the guy.
