Hello everyone! Long time lurker but never poster. I've mostly written D&D campaigns, but after reading so many of Elfy's stories I wanted to try my hand at one myself. English is not my first language so I hope it's not too bad. Title might be a work in progress. I have more chapters planned out but I'd like to see the reception and perhaps get some feedback if possible. Thank you! I'll also provide i link to a google docs if the formatting doesn't work.

A Dependent Model

Alicia Eriksson wasn’t your average 19-year old. She stopped measuring up to her peers several years ago…in height, anyway. Standing only about 3 feet 1 inch tall and weighing roughly 30 pounds created many vertical challenges in her life. It didn’t help that her natural, curly brown hair that gently brushed her shoulders gave her a very youthful look. She had to assert herself against many concerned mothers who tried — with good intentions — to help her out. They often thought she was a lost child while shopping in the supermarket or taking a stroll in the park.

Sitting in said park Alicia scrolled through the jobsection of the local newspaper app. Across her sat the local playground, some trees, bushes and a flickering billboard that never seemed to get fixed.

Alicia had tried several times to find a job. Her mother felt uncomfortable sending her to college since she believed Alicia didn’t always ‘think things through’. When she got a job, Alicia tried very hard to keep it, but her short stature proved a worthy adversary everytime, and she was fired. She tried waitressing; but constantly had to watch out or to be bumped into, which happened; a lot. She abhorred selling tickets at the cinema as people either ridiculed her or thought she was someone’s kid playing pretend. Data entering…well that was just boring really, but still!

“Come on,” she said to herself with slight frustration, “Somewhere there’s bound to be a job for me. Where I don’t need to struggle all the time.”

Her eyes then landed on a particular section of the app. “Huh, ‘Stars Modeling Agency now searching for new talents. Please apply by this afternoon’,” she read out loud.

She pondered for a bit. “I guess it’s something I haven’t tried yet, but would they have clothes my size?”

Scrunching up her face, she decided, “Well I can at the very least try. What’s the worst that could happen? Hmm, I should get there quickly before applications close.”

Happy with her decision Alicia signed up for an interview on their website, wrote down the details of the place, and put them on her phone’s map.

“Oh, it’s a bit across town, but closer than expected. I should be able to walk from the house and get there in 15 minutes or so. Alright, let’s get this bread!” Alicia confidently started to walk towards the Modeling Agency. Making her way across town, passing the cinema, an ice cream parlor and several houses on the way. In a small alleyway she could read out the starry sign of the agency. Inside she spotted a waiting room which was painted pastel blue, a counter with a receptionist and two other - what Alicia thought- prospective models.

“Huh, weird that they are both here with their kids,” she remarked as she saw two toddlers playing with some dolls in a corner, but she didn’t pay any other attention to them. Alicia went up to the receptionist, a middle-aged woman wearing a cream-coloured cardigan.

“Excuse me,” Alica said.

The receptionist looked around for a bit before settling her eyes down on the diminutive woman.

“I’m here for an interview with,” Alicia looked at her phone, “Sofia Juarez?”

She looked at Alicia quizzically. “Hi sweetie, are you here with your mo-”

“I’m here by myself, ma’am,” Alicia interrupted already knowing where the lady was going with her questions. “Here’s my ID card, I’d like to speak with Mrs. Juarez if I may?”

The receptionist took Alicia’s ID and looked it over. “Well, certainly, Ms. Eriksson. Please have a seat in the meanwhile.”

The woman gave Alicia back her card with an amused look on her face, but Alicia didn’t care for the woman’s expressions. Alicia grabbed a seat and started looking through her phone in the meanwhile not noticing the odd looks the other two women in the waiting room were giving her.

After waiting an hour for her turn she was called into the office where Sofia Juarez was sitting. She wore business casual attire and had long raven-like hair sitting tightly in a ponytail in the back.

“Ms. Eriksson?” she said with a professional tone when Alicia entered.

“That’s me Mrs. Juarez. Thank you for taking your time seeing me,” Alicia said.

The latina woman looked at Alicia with interest on her face. “It’s just miss for me as well. Please have seat, Ms. Eriksson, pardon if it’s not adjustable.”

“I can manage it. Thank you,” Alica assured her and climbed up on the chair.

“So, Ms. Eriksson,” Ms. Juarez began, “ have you ever modeled before?”

“Honestly, no I have not. To be perfectly frank I’m quite jobstarved at the moment and I’m looking for any kind of opportunity I can get,” Alicia said believing that honesty would be her best bet.

“I see, thank you for your candidness, Ms. Eriksson,” Ms. Juarez said and wrote some things in a document, “well we all have to start somewhere.”

Alicia smiled, maybe she had a chance? “I assure you, ma’am that I’m a quick learner and even though I’m short I’ll try working really hard.”

“Oh your height is of no issue, dear,” Ms. Juarez replied.

“So you do carry clothes in my size? That’s very forward thinking, Ms. Juarez.” Alicia couldn’t believe the good news.

“Oh yes of course. Don’t worry we have a large sortment of clothes for a woman of your stature. Now a few more questions before we conclude this interview.”

Ms. Juarez proceeded to ask Alicia general questions, whether she grew up in town, where she sees herself in a few years etc. Alica answered all of Ms. Juarez’s questions to the best of her ability and looked on nervously as she looked over her clipboard,  hoping her lack of experience wouldn’t be an issue.

“Well Ms. Eriksson,” Ms. Juarez began, “I think Stars Agency have found their new talent.”

“Really?” Alicia beamed. “Oh thank you, ma’am. I promise I won’t let you down.”

The latina handed over a contract that Alicia was more than eager to sign without looking too closely at its contents.

“I’m sure you will be an excellent addition to our little family, Ms. Eriksson.”

“You can just call me Alicia, ma’am,” Alicia said beaming with energy.

“Oh, then I insist you call me Sofia. ‘Ma’am’ makes me feel old," she said.

Alica took a brief look at Sofia who appeared to be in her late 20s. “Of course, thank you for this opportunity, Sofia.”

“You’re welcome, sweetie,” Sofia said with a genuine smile.

The ‘sweetie’ comment didn’t even register in Alicia’s mind as she was too busy writing down her details in the contract.

“So when should I start?” Alicia said eagerly.

“Can you come in tomorrow Friday already? Our photographer Michelle will be available in the afternoon around three o'clock  and I could give you some pointers and assist with clothing if necessary? There won’t be any other models in at that time so we could take some time for you to learn the ropes.”

Alicia thought it seemed a little odd that the hiring manager would help with clothing, but maybe Sofia was a ‘hands-on’ type of person. Yet that thought did nothing to damper her mood.

“Tomorrow afternoon three o'clock, I will be there!” Alica said, hopping off the chair.

“Excellent, well Alicia I will see you then. And again, welcome to the family.”

Alicia felt like she traveled on air while going back home. Even an inexperienced model could earn a lot in comparison to other professions at the current job market and she couldn’t wait to earn some money to increase her independency.

I mean it’s not like living with mom is a bad thing, but a girl gotta spread her wings, right? She thought to herself as she passed the trees in the park with the flimmering billboard acting up as usual.

Alicia paused for a bit to take in the nice summer’s breeze. “From here on out my life is going to change,” she said before continuing back to her house.

It will be interesting to see how this story plays out Haku. I'm interested in seeing how Alicia is treated.

I eagerly anticipate your next chapter, and I want to thank you for sharing your gift with us here.

Thank you! I'll have chapter 2 ready for later today. 😃

I couldn't wait. Here's chapter 2 for now. I changed Alicia to be a little shorter as well.

---

Alicia wiped her feet on the porch mat before stepping inside her mother’s house with blue and yellow exterior.

“Mom, I’m home!” she called out happily.

Her mother Emily Eriksson stood in the kitchen ready to prepare dinner. Her neat, brown, slightly grayed hair tied in a bun and the white apron gave her a bit of an old fashioned, motherly appearance.

“Welcome home, sweetie!” She said smiling at her daughter. “You’re just in time, grab a stool and come help me dice these carrots.”

Alicia rolled her eyes slightly but complied without a fuss. “Mom, guess what happened today?” Alicia said while fetching one of her stepping stools.

“Oh something good from the sound of your voice. Did something fun happen in the park perhaps?”

“Mooom,” Alicia began, already knowing what’s coming next.

“Did you see any cute boys? That Henderson boy is quite the looker I hear.”

“Mom! He’s like, barely 16. Gross.” Alicia made a disgusted face.

“I’m just teasing, honey,” her mother put down the potato she was peeling and turned to face Alicia, “alright tell me what happened.”

Alicia almost vibrated off the stepping stool when she opened her mouth. “Igotajobatamodelingagency!”

“Honey, slow down. You know I can’t understand you when you get all hyper,” her mother said.

Alicia took a few deep breaths. “I. got. a. job. at. a. modeling. agency,” she said.

Emily Eriksson looked at her daughter quizzically then cleaned out her ears with a kitchen cloth. “You got a job?”

“Yes! At a modeling agency!” Alicia replied.

“At a modeling agency?” Her mother squinted.

“Yes, look!” Alicia showed her a picture of the agency she had taken earlier before leaving. “I had an interview with this pretty lady, Sofia. I signed a contract and I’m going in there tomorrow afternoon!”

Emily Eriksson pinched the bridge of her nose, looked at her daughter and sighed. “Honey did you really think this one through?” A standard questions she had asked her daughter in her ventures many times.

Alicia balked a little at her mother’s tone. “Y-yeah of course! It’s just across town so I can just walk there, it’s called Stars Agency and they are a very forward thinking company. They’ll have proper clothes my size, mom!”

“Not remotely what I meant, dear. Did you look over the contract properly before signing it?”

“Yeah, I mean, a little?” Alicia said and looked down on a particular interesting vegetable.

Emily Eriksson had now progressed from bridge pinching to massaging her temples. This daughter of mine..

“Well okay, so you’ve signed a contract. Is it going to be a lingerie thing dear? I really don’t want you posing in lingerie on a website. It might attract creeps.”

“It didn’t say anything about lingerie, mom,” Alicia said

“But you’re not sure?” Emily said

“I’m like 80% sure,” Alicia tried.

“Haaaah! You’re breaking your poor mother’s heart,” Emily Eriksson feigned, hand on her chest.

“Mom, I was there. The agency was nice. The manager was very kind and helpful. I got a really good vibe from it.”

Her mother sighed again, defeated. “Well, you are technically grown up and you can make your own decisions. I just don’t want anything bad to happen to you, sweetie,” she said embracing her daughter.

Alicia didn’t care for the technical part but she reciprocated all the same. “I’ll be fine mom. Sofia the manager was kind enough to offer to teach me the ropes tomorrow, and well if it’s really bad I’ll just give them my two weeks notice?”

Emily Eriksson knew when she couldn’t win with her daughter. “Okay honey. since you’re going to be a working woman we better get you some good food in you today.” She said and returned to peeling the potato she had discarded in the sink.

“Ok mom,” Alicia said picking up the carrots, “looove you..”

Her mother chuckled and gave her daughter a kiss on the head, “love you more, sweetie.”

The two continued working while chatting about various things happening in town. Some time later that evening they enjoyed a nice stew together in the living room by the TV, its droning newscaster lulling Alicia little by little as time went by.

Emily watched her daughter gathering drool on a brown, satin pillow. With a small sigh she carried her daughter up to her room, undressed her, tucked her into bed and kissed her goodnight. Part of her wondered why Alicia was in such a rush to become independent, but she knew that her daughter had to work thrice as hard to prove she was a capable individual, well even if she rarely thought things through at times. She watched her tiny angel snore her way into dreamland wishing that they could remain like this a while longer.

The next day Alicia felt energized and ready to take on the day. She didn’t remember going to bed but she slept like a log nonetheless. She flipped off the blue covers of her bed and stepped towards her wardrobe. Unfortunately many of her clothes were childish in nature due to having to shop in the dreaded kids’ section. Still she picked out some nice denim jeans and a light pink T-shirt that didn’t look too ridiculous on her. Dressed and ready she joined her mother downstairs in the white kitchen.

“Morning, mom!” Alicia said with renewed vigor. She pulled out one of her special, high chairs - not a highchair mind you - and climbed up to be greeted with God’s gift to mankind, pancakes and maple syrup.

“Morning, sweet pea,” her mom greeted her while she poured up some orange juice for the both of them, “ready for your big day?” she asked, yesterday’s worries still lingering slightly in the air.

“Mom, it’s not until three o'clock this afternoon. I’ll probably just laze around till then,” Alicia said.

Her mother was not amused by this. “Alicia Sigrid Eriksson. You are not lazying around until this afternoon. It’s a beautiful sunny day and I don’t want you staying inside rotting,” she chided.

Alicia was about to give her mom one of her patented pouts but thought better of it. Mom’s going to be at work all day. I suppose it’s only fair I help around since I’m not a breadwinner. Yet! She relented and started eating her pancakes. “Fine.” She said while chewing with her mouth open, giddy at their taste.

“Mmm, mom, I’ll never tire of your pancakes.” She said grabbing another forkful and depositing it into her mouth. They really were impossibly fluffy and with just the right amount of sweetness not to clash with the syrup.

“And I’ll never get tired of you eating them, sweetie,” she chuckled taking a bite of her own pancake.

She then turned to Alicia. “We need more milk and eggs by the way since I used the last for this batch. Can I trust my little girl to be a big girl and get some more before she becomes a famous model today?” Her mother asked.

She preferred tasking her daughter with simpler shopping, not because she didn’t think Alicia couldn’t handle a large list, but because it simply wasn’t feasible for her to drag heavy groceries back home.

“Mooom,” Alica groaned, “I can handle it, I’m an adult, okay?”

“You’ll always be my little girl, sweetie,” Emily said with a glint in her eye, “in more ways than one.”

Alicia rolled her eyes at her mother, then shoved more pancakes down her throat and drained her juice glass. “Alright, I’m done. May I be excused?”

“Not until you rinse that plate, young lady,” her mother scolded lightly.

Alicia took her plate, jumped down her black, high chair and proceeded to rinse the plate as asked. Then she put it and the rest of the utensil neatly in the grey dishwasher.

“Grab the cloth bag by the door before you leave, sweetie,” her mother reminded her.

Alicia grabbed the beige cloth bag as she has always done when going shopping. She really didn’t need the reminder, but it was futile to tell her mother differently.

“Okay mom, I’m leaving now, buh-bye, love you!” She said putting on her shoes, sunhat and grabbing her small black purse, ready to embrace the sun outside.

“Bye sweetie. Love you more! I’ll be back in time for when you get home so be ready to tell me all about your job when you get back. Oh and another thing don’t forget to put on sunscreen if y-”

But Alicia didn’t stay long enough for her mother to complete the sentence. It’s a tale as old as time after all, and Alicia had heard it on countless occasions.

Alicia had some time to kill before her model debut and decided to head to the local library where she deftly avoided the old librarian who was both hard of hearing and partially blind, but she loved her job and refused to retire. The old librarian probably held the world record in cheek-pinching, making Alicia shudder at the memories. Yet, Alicia braved the isles still. She loved a good book and often dreamed her way into fantasy worlds where no one cared how small she was. She picked out the first book from the Belgariad, took a seat in a bean chair and started reading about prophecies, gods and sorcery. Maybe she was a tad old for the series but she loved reading Eddings’ works. She stopped reading around the part where Garion meets Silk and looked at the time.

She figured she probably should get some sun before going shopping and put the book back in its place. Then she went to her usual spot in the park where she decided to actually read some of the contents of her contract on her phone. Yet it wasn’t long until the technical jargong bored her out her mind so she took a walk instead. At the playground she noticed a few mothers out with their toddlers, pushing them on swings and holding their hands while they went down the slides. Cute, Alicia thought to herself until one of the mothers noticed her and started waving at her, oh no, abort, abort!

“Nothing to see here people,” she called out as she ran away not wanting having to explain for the umpteenth time where her ‘mommy’ was. She ran until her little legs almost gave out, pausing for breath near a tree. She looked up and saw the broken billboard again. Its flimmering static always gave her a bite of a headache. “Someone ought to have fixed that already. Come on elected government officials. It’s an eyesore!” She muttered to herself.

Her stomach reminded her that it was almost time for lunch and so she took off to the local foodcourt where she once again had to explain that she wasn’t lost and no she didn’t want a kids hamburger meal. After finishing her regular, adult burger she went trough the shopping list for her mother. If you could call milk and eggs a list, that is. She hauled her charge back home and placed it in the fridge. Still some time left before I have to go. Ah screw it. I’ll set an alarm and browse the internet for a bit.

Alicia went up on the couch and started scrolling away the hours. Well, until her alarm alerted her it was time to go. She gave herself a once over and headed out. Twenty or so minutes later - she made a restroom stop on the way - she arrived once again at Stars Modeling Agency. She couldn’t help but dream that perhaps one day she’ll be an inspiration the world over for little people like herself. But for now she’d settle for some extra spending money. Confidently as she could she went inside where she was greeted by her manager Sofia and a thin, south korean woman with black hair in a pixie cut.

“Hi Alicia glad you could make it. Alicia this is Michelle our photographer. She has been dying to meet you.” Sofia said cheerily.

“Hi Michelle, nice to meet you!” Alicia said. “I hope I can live up to the expectations.”

Michelle gave Alicia a soft smile, shaking her hand. “Oh don’t worry I am sure you will learn quickly with Sofia guiding you. And between you and me, I think you were made for this job.”

Feeling flattered Alicia couldn’t suppress a blush. She had never been greeted with such kindness in a working environment before. “Well I am ready to put my money where my mouth is and start working.”

“Glad to hear it, I’m going to check the equipment one last time before the shoot. And no worries it’ll be a simple background since it’s your first time,” Michelle said.

“And I’ll guide you to the changing room, Alicia. I’ve already picked out several cute outfits for you that’s just to die for.” Sofia said with a surprising amount of pep in her steps.

“Oh, thank you Sofia, Um hehe I was actually kinda nervous. My mom didn’t really want me to do lingerie stuff and I’m not sure I was open for that, b-but of course if that is necessary…,” Alicia trailed off.

“Lingerie?” Sofia turned around and tilted her head then chuckled. “Oh, no, no sweetie, nothing of that sort,” she waved her hand dismissively, “only full ensemble here and accessories, well some might be a bit more revealing than others, but absolutely no shoots in underwear only. We don’t do that here.”

Alicia let out a sigh. “That’s a relief, now mom don’t have to nag me when I tell her about my first day.”

“Your mother can be a tad overprotective I take it?” Sofia mused as she lead them over to a changing room.

“Yeah, but I can’t be her little girl forever, you know? I need to do what feels right for me and working this job? Well it’s a good start.” Alicia said.

Sofia just stared at Alicia for a while with an amused expression. “Fantastic, you’re so strong, Alicia. I’m sure you will make your mother proud. And don’t worry something tells me you can still be her little girl, even if you’re a part of our family.”

Alicia couldn’t really shake the feeling of something being a little off with how Sofia said that, but she shook it off, dismissing it as a mere odd phrasing. “So is this my changing room?” She said pointing at the door with several stars on it carrying names.

“Oh it’s actually a collective changing room, sorry. We’re not big enough to accommodate multiple changing rooms for our little stars. I hope that’s not a problem? There’s only you for the afternoon.” Sofia asked with concern.

“Oh not at all! I wasn’t expecting a private room or anything. You gotta work your way up in the industry after all. This is totally cool.” Alicia said.

“Excellent, well I’ll be right outside if you have any questions about the attire. I’ve laid out a few for you inside on the table. You can choose whichever one you like the best and we’ll start with that.”

Alicia nodded and stepped into the changing room. It was dimly lit and she could smell some kind of incense in the air invading her nostrils. The whole room seemed to be in soft pastel colors, much like the waiting room outside.

Huh, it kinda smells familiar somehow, I just can’t place it. The room had a big mirror and sink. Probably for makeup, Alicia thought, oh and handy stepping stool, thank you Sofia!

The bin under the sink was very large. Alicia turned her eyes to the big table at the side, under she could faintly make up some dark boxes of whatever but above as Sofia promised laid three ensembles ready for her to pick. There was also something that looked like a white rectangle near the clothes but Alicia couldn’t make it out from her standpoint. She did what she normally did at home and fetched one of the stepping stools near the sink to get a better look.

Outside the changing room Sofia waited. About a minute passed and then the silence of the agency was broken when from within the changing room a loud: “What the hell?!” was heard.

  • Haku changed the title to A Dependant Model (chapter 2 out)

This is nicely written.

A nice story too I read a story like this but it was a young man of 21.

I liked that one too. 🙂

Haku,

Every chapter allows us a chance to see deeper into Alicia and how she could possibly react to the world around her.

I'm still deeply interested in seeing what she will do, and how others will treat her.

I like where this is going, I especially line the mother and their relationship, it's different from the normal "overprotective mother" routine.

Keep it up!

Thank you guys for the kind words and likes. Here's the next chapter. I hope you'll like it.

---

This isn’t happening..Alicia held onto one of the ensembles like it was a deadly viper waiting to strike. She blinked in hope that it had been a trick of the light and she was just imagining things. Yet, the evidence was clear. She was holding a toddler’s outfit complete with a frilly shirt and blue shortall with stars on it. Looking over the two other outfits, she saw a pink onesie - practically the same color as her T-shirt - and a short, purple dress. A closer inspection would reveal them all having a generous amount of space in the rear and buttons snaps. Near the shortalls were a pair of black Mary Janes, presumably in Alicia’s size. But the worst offender was the white rectangle nestled among the rest of the filth. The ultimate icon of babyhood, a thick, white diaper complete with cartoon-like stars in the front.

Suddenly the room started spinning and Alicia experienced a wave of nausea. That smell, she remembered it! It was freaking baby powder and it now reeked heavily inside of this chamber of deceit.

Alicia’s mind went racing and the only thing leaving her mouth was: “What the hell?!” She didn’t have time to gather much more thought as Sofia hurriedly entered the room.

“Alicia, what’s wrong?” She asked voice full of concern. “Did something happen, are you hurt?” Sofia looked genuinely worried as she stepped forward towards Alicia.

“S-sofia? W-what..,” Alicia tried to stammer out. She took a deep breath and counted to ten like her mother had taught her, “what are all these?!”

“These?” Sofia said and pointed at the chosen ensambles for the photo shoot. “They’re today’s outfits, Alicia. Is something wrong?”

“I-is something wrong? Yeah it is! These are baby clothes!” Alicia cried out a little bit of snot forming in her nose.

“Well I’d call them toddler outfits, but potato potato…and?”

“Wha-? I mean,” Alicia tried to calm herself, failing utterly. How could Sofia be so nonchalant about it? “So where’s the women’s clothing?” she huffed indignantly. “If this is your way of hazing me on my first day, it’s not appreciated.”

Sofia appeared perplexed at Alicia’s outburst. “Hazing? What? No I’d never do that to an employee. These really are the outfits for today’s photo shoot,” she said.

“Huh?” Alicia said not yet understanding what Sofia meant by those words. It just couldn’t be right.

Sofia brightened the lights in the room, revealing it for what it actually was. A changing room, yes, but for babies and toddlers complete with a changing table, clothing, wipes, a tub, garbage bin, skin cream and stacks and more stacks of diapers underneath the table.

Alicia took in the brighter room and she could feel another wave of nausea hit her, causing her to stumble from the stool.

Sofia quickly caught her however and settled her down on the pink floor. “Whoa easy there.” She held onto Alicia in case she fainted.

“There are no women’s clothing, only toddler clothing?” she asked weakly. Hoping it was just an elaborate prank on Sofia’s part.

“Yes, that is what I’ve been trying to tell you, Alicia. Did you not read anything on our website before coming here?”

Alicia felt a tight knot in her stomach. She had not in fact checked their website in the hurry she had been to get to the interview, and after she had been so excited that it totally slipped her mind. “I-I forgot?” She replied, tears and snot threatening to spill out.

“Oh for goodness sake,” she procured a napkin holding it close to Alicia’s nose, “ blow into this for me, okay?” Sofia said.

Alicia still in a bit of a daze, complied and blew into the napkin. Sofia took care to wipe her face gently. “That’s it get it all out.” she said gently at Alicia.

Alicia took a few more deep breaths. Sofia’s gentle scent blocked off the more invasive baby powder. It felt calming, like a gentle rustle of leaves in the trees.

“It would seem there has been a major miscommunication ,hasn’t there, Alicia?” Sofia said.

Alicia hiccuped a little in between her breaths but was steady enough to talk. “I-i really thought you catered to well, little people. I was excited because I don’t get to wear a lot of grown-up clothes unless they’re tailor-made. Why didn’t you say anything in the interview. You could have warned me!”

Sofia raised an eyebrow at Alicia’s tone. “I thought it was what you wanted, Alicia? You seemed so eager and confident and I thought ‘Wow, here’s a daring young woman who’s not afraid of taking risks and really challenge herself.’”

Sofia she held onto Alicia. “You also said you were jobstarved so I thought you had resolved yourself and made peace with your decision. That’s partly why I chose you, sweetie,” Sofia sighed. “Did you really not think anything was off yesterday when you saw two other applicants with their mothers?”

Yes of course, how dumb. The toddlers were the prospective talents. How did I not see it? I’m so stupid.. Alicia thought.

“I must say, Alicia you didn’t think this through,” Sofia scolded her gently.

Alicia laughed at the irony how much Sofia reminded her of her mother at that point. She’s have a field day with this one. I’d keep hearing about it until my hair turned grey.

“Yeah,” Alicia chuckled, “I really didn’t this time. Glad it’s over now though.” Feeling some solace that it was just a misunderstanding.

“Over?” Sofia asked, “what do you mean, over?”

“I mean I can’t really be a toddler model, Sofia. That would be absurd!” Alicia said.  Thinking that would be the end of it.

“Alicia,” Sofia began sounding ominous, “You’ve signed a contract with the agency for a year. It’s already scanned and emailed to the main office.”

“B-but surely that can’t be accepted? I am 19 years old! It’s gotta be illegal or something, I’m not in the proper age range!”

“Actually Stars Agency have no age range, although most models move on to other agencies when they reach their 20s. However this branch store only handles clothing options ages 6 months to 5 years.”

“S-so send me to the main store, I can model there instead?” Alicea pleaded. Surely that would be preferable?

“To Montreal?” Sofia asked looking her in her eyes, already knowing how that would play out.

Alicia gulped. That would be hours away...by plane.

“Also, we technically have no contractual obligation to send you to the main store let alone tell them that you should work there,” Sofia continued.

“B-but a year?” Alicia cried out. She couldn’t sacrifice all that time to play pretend. What if someone found out? She’d be ridiculed and probably have to move away.

Sofia was getting a tiny bit tired at soothing the diminutive adult. She really didn’t look any older than three years old with snot coming out her nose. She wiped Alicia’s nose with a new wipe.

“Yes, but I am obligated to tell you that you may renegotiate your contract after fulfilling six months of work under our agency. You’re free to end your employment with us at that time.”

“Six months?” Alicia began to almost hyper-ventilate. That’d be just as bad really. “W-well then I just won’t show, you can’t make me.”

Sofia closed her eyes at how childish Alicia sounded at that moment. She sighed again. “No, Alicia. I cannot personally make you work here, but again the contract and all your details have already been sent to the main office. When they- not if mind you- catch you being in breach of contract they will come after you with lawyers in tow. Do you think you could afford that, Alicia, hm?”

The knot in her stomach turned into a dark pit of dread in Alicia’s stomach. Its threatening pressure grew and traveled downwards where it warmed up for a split second. Sofia’s soothing scent failed at calming her as the direness of the situation became all too real. “N-no, I cannot,” Also my mom would kill me, she thought.

Sofia wiped away a few more tears on Alicia face. “Then I suggest we start working as intended. Michelle is probably wondering what is taking so long ,but I’ll just have to pay her some overtime I suppose,” she said.

Sofia gave Alicia a gentle hug, ”Don’t worry you will have my full support and I will guide you through your time here. These six months, or year, depending on what you decide ,will fly us by. You’ll see.”

Alicia chuckled weakly. There was nothing else she could do at this moment.  She had been utterly defeated and she was her own worst enemy. There was no hope, her goose was cooked, her number was up and all that.

“Now I ask you, Alicia. Do you need some help in getting dressed?” Sofia asked with genuine concern in her voice.

Alicia looked at the infernal clothes, her knees weak and unsteady. It was questionable if she would be able to get back on the stepping stool. She looked down in defeat and nodded slightly.

“Okay, then up on the table you go,” Sofia said and easily put her onto the changing table. She started to gently undress Alicia who didn’t make a fuss when her denim jeans came undone and the pink T-shirt went bye-bye. She wore a simple, white training bra, and some white cotton panties.

“Hmm, the bra will have to come off, sweetie I am afraid. Might look odd in the pictures,” sofia said. Alicia didn’t protest and just nodded, letting Sofia unhook it for her.

“Okay, lie down for me, Alicia.” Sofia said with a gentle voice.

Alicia, now on autopilot layed down on the white, cold changing table. It didn’t register to her what was about to happen until she heard a crinkling sound. She looked up in horror as Sofia was unfolding the thick, white diaper.

“A-ah no,” she started mewling, “not that!” The dark pit in her abdomen made itself known, accompanied by the split spasm of warmth.

“‘Clause G, Section Nine: Any models in the branch agency are required to wear Star Agency's patented youth briefs to protect company assets. Failure to comply will resort in fines to cover any damage the assets sustain should proper caution not have been taken. Compliance and assistance with securing and changing said youth briefs will be upheld by model’s kin and/or an employee of Star Agency.’”

“This includes you since you work here,” Sofia said as a matter of fact, almost daring Alicia to challenge the point.

She continued. “Alicia you’re not forced to use the diapers, just wear them. The rules are in effect because babies and toddlers can’t be expected to hold it. It’s just an extra precaution that’s all.”

“And besides, should the unexpected happen I am more than willing to help you clean up if that would be the case. See it as an extra perk of the job since it’s weighing so heavily on you,” Sofia said trying to lighten the mood.

Alicia wouldn’t really consider it a perk, as it sounded as if she wasn’t allowed to put on or - god forbid - change the diaper on her own according to the contract. She slumped down in defeat as she felt Sofia pull down her underwear.

Sofia noted a few dark spots on Alicia’s panties as she held them in her hand, but opted not to say anything to preserve the little dignity she had left.

“I think we’ll forgo any powder or cream this time around, wouldn’t you say?” She again tried to make light of the situation as she started hoisting up Alicia’s legs, slipping the thick diaper underneath her bottom.

When her butt hit the fabric, Alicia gasped in shock. It was like sitting on a fluffy pillow. A nasty prison of a pillow threatening to envelope her. Most of Alicia’s life had been avoiding any kind of situation that would label her a baby, but now she was walking right into the lion’s den. In her shock however, Alicia suddenly remembered something Sofia had said earlier. “H-hey, Sofia?”

“Hmm, what’s up? She replied.

“Earlier you said you hired me because you said I was confident and a risktaker, but that was only part of it.”

“Mhm, yes, I remember saying that,” Sofia said adjusting the diaper.

“W-what was the other part?” Alicia stammered through.

“Oh,” She said with a grin, pulled the thick baby diaper over Alicia’s crotch and taped it snugly around her waist, sealing her doom. “You’re cute as a button. Well when you’re not covered in tears and snot that is.”

Chapter 4, hope you enjoy!

-----

“So, which outfit first, Alicia? Sofia asked holding them up for her to choose.

Alicia still distracted by her Sofia’s comment earlier. “What? Oh, the shortalls, I guess?”

She lingered on the ‘cute’ comment. Normally, Alicia would have rebuked such a statement but the circumstances left her feeling more vulnerable than normal. Alicia probably wouldn’t admit it but Sofia was probably close to the ideal woman Alicia aspirated to be. Successful, independent..tall..A far off goal it now seemed.

The thick diaper around her waist made its presence aware with its accursed softness which parted her legs. Its snugness imprisoning her.

Sofia started dressing Alicia in the shirt and shortall. Alicia at least had presence of mind to pull down the shirt herself and pull up the straps of the shortall, trying to maintain any kind of independence. Sofia changed her socks to a pair of white ones and put on the black Mary Jane shoes. She completed the dress up by snapping the buttons  in the crotch, concealing the white diaper.

“I’ll lift you down now, okay?” Sofia told Alicia, waiting to see if Alicia decided to go down on her own.

Alicia had however caught a sight of herself in the mirror and stared. In this outfit there was very little telling that she wasn’t anything other than a little girl, and she hated it. Her previous shock now made way for a sour disposition.

Sofia didn’t wait for a reply seeing as they were already behind schedule and took it on herself to get the girl down. “We should probably clean your face a little before we head out. We probably can’t do much about the red eyes, but Michelle can just fix that later in editing.”

“I can do it,” Alicia muttered to herself. She took the stool and stepped up on the sink and proceeded to wash her face.

Sofia almost had to stop herself from praising Alicia. Seeing her in that outfit just messed with her perception. “Alright, let’s go to the shoot.”

Alicia grumbled as she went down. The fabric of the shortall clung to the diaper making her walk with a slight waddle.

They made it to one of the studios in the agency where Michelle was scrolling on her phone waiting with equipment at the ready. There was an assortment of lights put up and a simple grey background.

Michelle looked up from her phone. “Hey took you long enough is everything alr—?” She looked at Alicia seeing her sour expression. She turned to Sofia, “I take it there was some problems along the way?”

“Yes, but it has been sorted and we should be good to go. Right, Alicia?” She looked down at the sourpuss.

Alicia grumbled again but nodded. “I’ll try.”

Sofia sighed. “I suppose that is what we can ask. For today at least. Now, Alicia, you don’t have to go out of your way to smile cheerily for the camera, but we can’t have you pouting either. So please try to breathe and relax a bit.”

Sofia leaned down to look Alicia in the eyes. “Please?”

Alicia closed her eyes and focused. I am not a toddler, I am an adult with a modeling job I will get through this. She repeated in her mind like a mantra.

She took a few deep breaths, relaxed her face and looked up at Sofia. “Okay, Sofia. I don’t like it, but I will try.”

“And I’ll help you, Alicia. We’ll take it easy for today, alright?” she said.

“Okay,” Alicia replied with a neutral expression.

Michelle just shrugged behind the camera. “Hey as long as I get overtime pay, I don’t mind.”

“Alright, Alicia. We’ll start with some standing poses. Go over to the screen please,” Sofia said.

Alicia went over to the grey screen and started posing as Sofia directed. She had no problem with most of the standing poses even though she felt ridiculous in her attire. Michelle started snapping away at the camera, fueling Alicia feelings of self consciousness.

“You’re doing okay, Alicia, could we get a few with a smile as well. Just a few small ones,” Sofia said not wanting to push her too far.

Alicia relented and put on a few forced smiles for the camera.

“Alright good, now some we’ll try and few sitting poses,” Sofia said to Alicia’s dismay. Now she had to sit down on her padded behind which did not elate her.

She acquiesced and sat down and felt the diaper hug her like a pillow again. She blew a frustrated breath as Michelle snapped more pictures.

Sofia directed Alicia through a number of sitting and laying down poses and this went on for another fifteen minutes. Alicia persevered and tried to keep herself from frowning.

“Alright I think that’s enough for now,” Sofia said.

Alicia breathed a sigh of relief. Thank god it’s over.

“We’ll take a ten minute break for costume change and be back in action,” Sofia said.

Arrrgh! Alicia groaned inwardly realizing she still had two other outfits to go through. She wasn’t sure she had it in her to keep this up.

She awkwardly waddled back to the changing room trying to keep a low profile. In the hallway she spotted the receptionist that had stopped her work to look at her, adding onto Alicia embarrassment. Alicia hurried back into the changing room and closed the door. Sofia waited outside to try and give Alicia some privacy.

“Ten minutes, Alicia,” she reminded her.

Alicia started undressing and removed the shoes, this time without Sofia’s help. She looked towards the remaining outfits, the onesie and the short dress. It really doesn’t matter, but I might as well things over with. She picked the onesie and started treading it over her body, but hit a snag when she tried to close it over the diaper. Shit..

She tried several more times but couldn’t quite the the grip she wanted.

“Everything alright in there, Alicia?” Sofia said outside the door.

Alicia tried one last time but it was as if the babyish attire taunted her attempts. She gave up. “I-I need some help, Sofia.” Alicia said with a low voice.

“Alright, I’m coming in,” Sofia went inside and saw Alicia’s struggle. She had to hide a smile at how cute Alicia looked struggling. She stepped next to her and adjusted the onesie and easily closed the snaps around Alicia’s thick diaper.

Alicia didn’t appreciate how it poked out from the sides but kept silent.

“Ready to head back out there?” Sofia said

“I’m not sure I can keep this up, Sofia. I hate how the outfits look and how the diaper feels around me, I just want to disappear,” Alicia sniveled.

“Hey, hey no more tears now, okay? You’re doing just fine. You’ve hit a snag in your life but you will make it through,” Sofia reassured. She thought for a bit until she took out her phone.

“I’m not sure how much you’ve seen in terms of salary regarding your contract but if you needed an incentive, this is your pay for the day,” Sofia showed Alicia the screen.

Alicia looked at the phone and balked a bit at the number. 80 dollars for two hours of work?!

“What, that can’t be right, stop teasing me, Sofia,” Alicia frowned.

“Honey,” Sofia said, “do you have any idea how hard it is for actual children to do what you want them to do? They ignore you, they throw tantrums and are in general just tough to work with. You - despite your initial outburst - have done a great job so far and things have proceeded smoothly.

Alicia’s mind was swimming of opportunities when she realized how profitable this job actually was. I could put money in my savings account, buy a new laptop, make some changes to the house…and maybe mom doesn’t have to work so much overtime.

“Also, that’s not even the roof. If your performance increases over time we can renegotiate your hourly rate. Are you feeling it now?” Sofia grinned.

Alicia looked at Sofia with determination. “Hell yeah! Let’s do this thing!”

“Great, but language!” Sofia chided. “We have a policy against swearing at this workplace since we work with little ones.”

Alicia had forgotten that in the heat of the moment, but she was so pumped now. She felt like she could handle anything her way.

“Let me give you a piece of advice that extends to many models in general. Just have fun with it,” Sofia said.

“I’m not sure how much ‘fun’ I can have, but I am all fired up now, Sofia,” Alicia grinned.

“Good to hear, now let’s get your cute butt over to the photo shoot,” Sofia grinned.

“Haah, please don’t refer to my butt as cute,” Alicia sighed.

“Heat of the moment, Alicia. Your spirit is infectious,” She apologized.

They walked back to the photo shoot again. This time Alicia brimmed with determination and took her place the screen with confidence.

Michelle chuckled a little behind the camera seeing the fire in her eyes but started snapping pictures all the same as Sofia directed.

The photo shoot proceeded even more smoothly after that. Alicia ignored any discomfort her bulky diaper and clothes caused and just focused on that sweet, sweet moolah. Alicia went through all the poses while grinning a money-fueled smile

The rest of the photo shoot went well. The purple dress was a little shorter than Alicia would have wanted as it didn’t completely hide the bulging diaper.

When the time was finally up Alicia felt exhausted by the ordeal but she had kept at it and both Sofia and Michelle were impressed.

“Told you were made for this job, Alicia,” Michelle praised her.

“I didn’t know you meant it quite that way at the time, Michelle,” Alicia smiled.

“Yeah, It wasn’t what you were expecting I take it?” Michelle grinned.

“Understatement of the year, but in the end I suppose it was my fault for not researching anything,” she said sheepishly.

“Hey You’re doing great. Keep at it and you’ll be just fine. It was such a delight working with you today,” Michelle said earnestly.

“Thanks, Michelle. It was great working with you too!” Alicia said.

They said their goodbye and Sofia and Alicia went back to the changing room one last time. “Alright, Alicia let’s get you out of your outfit and into your regular clothes,” Sofia said.

“Um, I think I can manage that on my own, Sofia, thank you,” Alicia said.

“Yes I know you can, sweetie, but you had a pretty rough first day and you look tired,” Sofia tried.

“I still would like to do it on my own,” Alicia said but pondered the snaps of the dress. Sofia’s gentle summer breeze scent was still lingering around her and it made her calm.  “I guess a little help would be fine.”

“Of course, Alicia,” Sofia said as Alicia took the stool and went up on the changing table.

Alicia proceeded to undress with some help of Sofia. The tabs of the diaper proved to be tricky as they were very strong and her fingers a clammy from sweat. After it was removed Alicia became self-conscious and Sofia excused herself to give Alicia her privacy. Alicia happily threw the diaper into the trash where it belonged, and cleaned herself up before exiting the Chamber of Deceit she had aptly named it.

“Alright Alicia, again, great work today. I’ll be sure to wire you your salary for the day right away. You deserve it,” Sofia said.

Alicia grinned again at the prospect of hard-earned cash. Maybe she could treat herself to something nice this weekend.

“Thanks, and Sofia?”

“Yes?” her managed answered.

“I’m sorry for my earlier outburst and attitude. It was unprofessional of me,” Alicia apologized.

“Oh honey, it’s water under the bridge. I’m sure it’ll be smooth sailing from here on out.”

“Hehe, yeah..” Alicia said not entirely convinced by Sofia’s words. “So when’s the next photo shoot?”

“Not until monday so you’ll have the weekend to relax. I’m still waiting for confirmation on a few things so I’ll message you the details on sunday, alright?”

Alicia nodded. “Okay that sounds good. Anyway, I better be off. Thanks again for your encouragement, Sofia.”

“Any time, Alicia,” Sofia said. “Take care on your way back and make sure you get some good rest before monday.”

With that Alicia left the agency not even looking back at the receptionist giving her an amused look. She walked back her head filled with different ideas to treat herself with the money she earned. She gave little care for the usual sceneries she passed.

When she came to the front porch of her house however she stopped dead in her tracks. The dark pit taking root in her stomach once more. Shit..How should I tell mom?!

I've been busy the last week so I missed this when you started it. Enjoyable work! I've seen several people start works like this, but never seen anything concluded. I hope you'll be able to keep this going! I can see so many cute photo shoots in her future! (Though it does seem like it's time for some to make sure that mommy is with her! Somehow I think she'd love the outfits! 🤣 )

Emily Eriksson had finished her work at the clinic and relaxed by the TV as she heard the telltale footsteps of her daughter. “Hi sweetie, back home from work?” she greeted her daughter in the foyer.

Alicia had taken a few deep breaths before opening the door to settle her churning stomach. She forced a nervous smile. “Yeah, mom. All done for the day.”

Emily could see through her daughter’s expression. It reminded her from the time Alicia had broken her grandmother’s old vase and tried to blame it on Bandit, her cat-plushie. Her mother wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt however.

“That’s great honey. Did you try a lot of cute clothes?” Emily said.

If you only knew. Alicia thought. “Yep! So many cute outfits.”

“Well I’m glad you had fun, sweetie. I must say I was skeptical to the idea, but you seem happy about it and that is all that matter,” Emily assured. “There wasn’t any lingerie, right?”

“N-no, no lingerie mom, they don’t do that there. Just everyday normal clothes!” she said trying her best not to sound odd.

She wasn’t sure if her mother picked up on her nervous tone. If she did she didn’t say anything about it. “Well, that’s good at least. So you think you’ll be sticking with it?”

I have no choice…Alicia thought. “Yeah, the pay is really good mom. They gave me eighty bucks for two hours of work. I think I can manage it.”

Emily looked surprised. “Really? That sounds like a lot for someone just starting out. Not that I would know of course.”

“They told me I was made for the job,” Alica chuckled.

“That’s great honey, I can’t wait to see when the pictures are out online. I might even have to order a magazine for keeps.

Huuurgh! Alicia groaned again. Feeling the dread in her stomach pierce her like stakes. “I-I’m sure it’ll be a while until that mom, no rush, right?”

Emily Eriksson knew her daughter wasn’t completely honest with her, but she didn’t push the subject. “Of course, dear. Now, what do you say we order pizza for tonight?”

“Sure, mom. Pizza sounds nice,” Alicia said and put away her hat, shoes and purse. She couldn’t shake the feeling that her mother would eventually found out what she’s actually doing at work.

Emily asked a few more things about the agency and the type of people that worked there. Alicia told her about Sofia again and the photographer, Michelle. She mentioned the receptionist and her mother scolded her slightly for not remembering her name.

“It’s important to get to know the people you are working with, sweetie,” she began, “even if you’re not interacting with all of them the same. It’s just the polite thing to do.”

“Yes, mom,” Alicia groaned. She’d have to introduce herself properly to the receptionist and her other ‘co-workers’. Otherwise she’d never hear the end of it. Her mom was just proper like that.

Pizza arrived a little bit later and Alicia perked up as she saw one of her old classmates, Lily Henderson delivering it. Lily was tall with medium length brown hair and she had pulled up the sleeves of her working uniform, revealing her toned arms.

“Hi Alicia!”Two orders of Capricciosa brings your total to 32 dollars, please. Also, how are you?” she cheered.

Alicia was admittedly jealous of her strong figure, but gladly chatted with Lily. She was saving up for college and she was always a delight to talk to. She never talked down to Alicia or treated her differently because of her height. They’d been close friends during school, but lost contact a bit since Lily busied herself with work. Alicia did not talk about her new job, and she’d mostly likely keep it that way.

“Also, Nick says hello!” Nick being Lily’s boyfriend and another one of her classmates which she hung out with on occasion.

“Aight tell him I said hi too,” Alicia said.

“You know it’s been a while since we hung out, would you be up for something next week?” Lily said.

Alicia was taken a bit aback by this. She had been feeling a little lonely truth be told, trying to find a job since high school. “Um, yeah that sounds nice, Lily.”

“Great I’ll message you some ideas this weekend, just let me know if you can make it okay? No pressure!” she said while leaving.

“Alright, talk to you later, Lily,” Alicia said waving goodbye to her friend.

Her mother stood near the kitchen pouring up sodas for them and caught most of their conversation. She was happy Alicia decided to reconnect with Lily.

Alicia handed her the pizzas and brought her black, high chair to help divide them into slices. As they were chowing down the pizza goodness in the living room, it took a load off Alicia’s mind and the dark pit in her stomach had settled.

---

It wouldn’t be too long until Alicia was conked out on the couch again, her little belly full of delicious pizza and soda. Her mother chuckled at the sight of her little girl. At least she’s not out partying or doing drugs or God knows what. She thought. It was a peaceful moment.

Like yesterday, she carried her daughter up the stairs to her bedroom and removed her clothes, but stopped when she smelled the telltale sign of urine. She inspected her daughter’s cotton panties with concern. Stress, perhaps? She thought.

As a mother and a doctor however, she couldn’t leave her daughter in soiled underwear. She went to the bathroom and put hot water on a smooth towel. She removed the underwear and gently cleaned and dried her daughter. Then she found an identical pair of panties and put them on Alicia. A mother’s job is never done. I’m just glad she’s a heavy sleeper.

She tucked her daughter in and kissed her goodnight and headed downstairs to tidy up. She stopped by the dresser near the staircase and looked to the pictures there. A man with brown hair and a scruffy beard in his 20s was sitting with a smaller Alicia in his lap smiling towards the camera. Oh dear, if you could only see our little angel now…she thought to herself while holding the picture, reminiscing about happier days.

I really hope she’s not overdoing it at her new job. Maybe I should pop by someday and surprise her, but not yet perhaps. I don’t want her to think I don’t trust her. Emily felt conflicted over her daughter’s decision, but ultimately she knew it was out of her hands. It wouldn’t hurt reading up on the agency though…

---

The next morning Alicia rose with the dawn. Man, I must’ve been exhausted yesterday. She dressed in a pair of small sweatpants and a grey T-shirt, and headed downstairs.

“Mom?” she called out but the kitchen echoed with silence. She found a hastily scribbled note on the fridge.  ‘Morning, sweetie! I had to pop by the clinic for a small emergency. There’s leftover pancakes, and please make sure you have some of your Nutridrink. - Love Mom’

“Ugh, mom,” Alicia groaned. She had been drinking those nutritional substitutes for years now because of her disorder. Her mother insisted she needed the extra nourishment because she could still be growing.  Yeah, fat chance of that ever happening. Alicia didn’t want to argue with her mother though. She knew she meant well in the end, even then Alicia had negotiated the drinks down to once a week.

Alicia ate some pancakes and drank her strawberry Nutridrink while checking over her contract again trying to find away to at least get out of wearing diapers at the set. I wish I had better grasp of legalese. This is so boring! She found the section about wearing protection at least, but tried as she might she couldn’t find any other subclauses that would help her.

She sighed and went over to the couch for some morning TV. Seemed like there was an old rerun of Teen Titans going. Alicia watched Raven in the episode where she has to care for two younger children with powers. Sometimes I wish I could just magic my problems away…

Alicia pondered. Alright, so, six months of wearing babyish clothes and wearing diapers on set. On one hand a hellhole, on the other hand, my bank account’d has never been this happy. Could she really make peace with playing the roll of toddler.?

I probably have no say in the type of location we’ll be shooting at either Surely it won’t be anything public though? That would be weird. Alicia shuddered at the thought.

She turned her eyes toward the TV again as the episode wrapped up. What would you do, Raven? She asked the fictional character. Probably move to another dimension that’s what she’d do.

Feeling a twitch in her bladder, Alicia headed to the bathroom to relieve herself before taking a shower and getting dressed for the day out. A black skirt and simple, grey shirt was her choice of attire. I think I’ll head to the park to clear my head for a bit. Then I’ll go to Lickety Split for a treat. She thought before heading out.

Alicia sat at her usual bench in the park going through what she already knew in her head. She couldn’t come up with any good ideas to turn things around. Maybe she could save enough money to fly herself to Vancouver? Sofia said that it wouldn’t be a guarantee they’d let her work there, let alone have suitable clothes for her.  Also where would I live? The plan just wasn’t feasible.

“Guess I’ll just have to resign myself for now until I can come up with a better idea,” Alicia sighed.

“That’s a pretty big word, sweetie,” a nasal voice said nearby.

Alicia turned around in frustration ready to rebuke whoever was patronizing her. “Ma’am I’m—ugh!” she said, disgusted by the sight.

Drag queens wore less make-up than the monstrosity of a woman that was looking back at her. Super thick eye-liner and eye-shadow, horrid, overused pink lipstick, platina blond hair and surely a facelift, or two. She was dragging a toddler in a stroller with thick blond curls and a pink dress that said ‘Mommy’s Little Princess’ on it.

Alicia tried not to gag at the sight.

“You here by yourself, sweetheart? Where’s your mommy?” The woman did not seem taken aback by Alicia’s disgusted face.

Alicia took a deep breath. “Ma’am I’m here by my-!”

“Wow, you’re such a good talker, sweetheart. How old are you? Four, five?” her nasally voice grating on Alicia’s ears.

Alicia balked. The nerve of this abominable clown-lady! Alicia huffed and walked away. It was useless trying to communicate with half-wits like these. She wouldn’t get a word in edgewise either way.

“Wait, where are you going, sweetie?” The woman’s voice petered out as Alicia ran further and further away. She thought she could still hear a ‘how rude’ in the distance.

Ice-cream, gonna get some ice-cream and forget about that whole little interaction. Alicia thought to herself as she headed to Lickety Split, one of the best ice-cream parlors in town.

The door dinged as she went inside the parlor and got up to the counter to order. Luckily, it was a worker that recognized Alicia so she didn’t have to worry about the usual spiel. She paid with her phone and went to sit down with her sundae and a small coffee. Sweet ambrosia, Alicia mused.

Her mother wasn’t an avid coffee drinker so she rarely got to enjoy it at home. Hmm, that might just have to change,” Alicia thought as she took another sip and devoured her sundae.

The parlor was pretty packed even though it was only late morning and conversations were buzzing. Alicia thought she heard a few snickers, but she couldn’t be sure they were directed at her.

As she was sitting down scrolling through her phone she was hit with an urgent need to relieve herself. Damn you, ambrosia! Why do you have to be so good, yet so devilish!

She hurried to the restrooms only to be met with the longest que of her life. Did everyone in town decide to go at the same time!? She groaned inwardly but took her place in the que.

A few minutes passed and she was tapping away with her foot, trying to distract herself. Her body did a little involuntary jiggle as she tried to maintain focus.

The que moved so slowly and another five minutes must’ve passed as her aching bladder was crying as she felt it spasm.

Then a black-haired woman with a baby in her arms exited the family restroom and spotted Alicia.

“Oh, sweetheart come over here, this one is available now,” she said, waving her over.

A teenager in front of her called out. “Hey, what gives? I gotta go too, you know!”

“You hush, the little one is close to bursting. You’re much older than her, so zip it!” the woman scolded, “it’s okay, come over here, precious,” the woman cooed.

Normally this would be a mortifying experience for Alicia but she could already feel the spasms turn into little droplets and rushed into the restroom and shut the door behind her. She managed to quickly pull her panties down and relieved herself in the toilet. Her embarrassment caught up to her as she realized she had to be rescued by one of her mortal enemies, the concerned mother. Maybe I’ll just skip coffee while I am out and about. God, it’s so good though.

She finished up her business and tippy-toed to try and wash her hand in the sink, doing a less than stellar job.

Outside lied an ambush for her as the same woman with the baby in her arms had stayed behind to make sure she was okay. “Hey, did you make it to the potty in time sweetie?”

The words stung like a thousand knives right into her pride, but she had no nasty retort seeing as the woman had just saved her from having an accident. Alicia just nodded bashfully.

“That’s great, my name’s Jenny. What’s yours, precious?” she said.

“A-alicia,” she whispered. She looked towards the exit.

“Are you here with someone, Alicia?” Jenny smiled.

Alicia wanted to shout no, and that she was an independent woman and didn’t appreciate being talked to like a toddler. Yet none of that happened. Alicia was too embarrassed to assert herself as an adult after almost wetting herself.

“Uh, yeah. They are waiting for me outside. So I gotta go now, bye!” Alica took off before Jenny could ask any more embarrassing questions.

“Oh, okay. Take care, Alicia!” she called out.

What a little cutie pie,” Jenny thought to herself as she saw Alicia taking off around the corner.

Alicia went back to her house. This morning really hadn’t gone her way and she was more than ready to crawl under a rock and die. She settled for some more TV instead by the couch and continued mindlessly scrolling away the hours on her phone until her mother came home.

Chapter 6. Hope you guys like it!

When her mother came home later in the early afternoon they made a simple egg salad and sandwiches together for lunch.

“So how’s your day been, sweetie?” Emily asked.

“Oh, you know, took a stroll in the park, ate some ice-cream and such,” Alicia downplayed. The less information Alicia gave her mother about her close encounter the better.

“Well, it’s good you went outside at least,” her mother said. “Any ideas for tomorrow?”

“No, not really, why?” Alica asked.

“Our nextdoor neighbors have to make a trip to the hospital, and they wondered if you’d be up for some petsitting again,” Emily wondered.

Their neighbors, the Bennetts were en elderly couple that had live there as long as Alicia could remember. They were very nice people, with no children of their own and they typically liked to dote on Alicia when she was younger. Well, they still did truth be told.

Still, they were getting on in their years so hospital visits happened from time to time.

They owned a Ragdoll named Percy that was a bit older than Alicia. He was very sweet, but could get very lonesome in his advanced age.

“Yeah, of course I’ll help out! They’re not gone for long, right?” Alicia smiled.

“Oh no, a couple of hours at most. It’s just a routine checkup,” Emily said.

Alicia nodded. she loved playing with Percy, always had. His white, fluffy belly was just the thing she needed to forget about her troubles.

“Great, I’ll call Susan and tell them you’re up for it,” Emily smiled.

They finished their simple lunch and had a peaceful rest of their day.  Alicia threw her clothes in the hamper, and got dressed for bed.

---

As Emily went to get herself ready, her sensitive nose acted up again, and she turned to look at the hamper. She found her daughter’s discarded underwear, which was once again a bit stained and smelled of urine. Oh dear, I hope she’s not coming down with an UTI. Maybe I should schedule an appointment for her…no Emily, she chided herself, your daughter is a grown woman, regardless of the circumstances. If she needs help she’ll come to you.

She sighed and put the underwear back in the hamper for tomorrow’s laundry. She felt a bit conflicted, since she knew Alicia might take things the wrong way if she overstepped. Still it was hard not too feel this way. Caring for Alicia by herself ever since her husband, Roger had died was a mountainous task. Emily had still been in her residency as a doctor at the time, and her emotional support network was very limited. Emily had grown up in foster care and her late husband’s family lived several states over, and their relationship was strenuous at best.

The Bennetts had been a blessing in that regard, babysitting Alicia in the afternoons while Emily tried to keep a roof over their heads.

When Emily found out about her daughter’s medical condition and that she was essentially done growing by four years old, she almost cracked under the pressure.

She became overprotective, but due to her busy working schedule she never felt she put in enough time in their relationship. This accumulated until Alicia hit her preteens and started to act out, which caused Emily to change her tune. She became more hands-off and learned to trust her daughter more.

They had their rough patches through the years, and while their money situation became better, Emily felt like she missed a lot of her daughter’s formative years.

I just want what’s best for you, baby girl. I really hope this new job of yours won’t be too stressful for you, and if it is, that you’ll talk to me about it. Emily Eriksson went to bed concerned about her daughter’s wellbeing, but eventually fell into a semi-restless sleep.

---

The next morning after breakfast, Alicia headed over to the Bennetts’ house to watch Percy. They’d had already departed for the hospital and had left the door unlocked for her.

Inside the living room it smelled of old people and kitty litter. She took a seat in their beige, old sofa and called for Percy. The older gentleman lazied over to her side and took a place in her lap.

“Good boy, Percy,” Alicia said and scratched his fluffy belly. Percy was more than content in letting her showering him with affection. Alicia produced a toy mouse on a stick and held it over him, watching as Percy batted it with his paws.

Alicia loved cats, but they never got around getting one since her mother was always busy with work. Still, she came over to the Bennetts to play with Percy a few times a week when she was still in school so she didn’t mind. She thought about her cat-plushie Bandit, and that the old toy probably collected dust somewhere in a box.

There really wasn’t much for Alicia to do, other than to keep Percy company. The Bennetts had already filled the little furballs food and water bowl, and cleaned his litter box before leaving. Alicia didn’t mind though as she buried her face in Percy’s fluffy stomach taking a whiff.

Why do cats smell so good? They just clean themselves with their tongues! Alicia mused.

She spent the next two hours burrowing into his fluffy tummy until she heard the door open and an elderly voice call out.

“Alicia, we’re back sweetheart.” Susan Bennett had short bob cut that was completely grayed from age. She wore a simple, dark-grey jacket and held onto her husband, Charles Bennett.

“Ally is here?” The news brought a smile to his wrinkled face.

Charles Bennett had a black and pepper crew cut and a bristly grey beard.

“Hi Mr. and Mrs. Bennett,” Alicia waved from the sofa.

‘Ally’ had been Charles’ nickname for her since she was a child.

“Yes, dear. She has been a sweetheart and watched Percy for us while the you took those tests at the hospital,” Susan reminded him.

“Such a good girl,” Charles mused and went inside to sit down next to her. “Thank you, for being such a dear.”

Alicia smiled at the elderly man. She knew he didn’t mean anything demeaning by his words. Charles suffered from early onset dementia and got confused at times.

“How’s school, Ally? You’re in…” he thought for a second, “third grade now? Made any good friends? Are the teachers kind to you?”

Alicia grimaced but played along. “Yes, Lily and Nick are very nice to me.”

“Ah yes, yes,” Charles nodded. “The Henderson girl and the Richards boy. They are good kids. So big now too..time sure flies.” The elderly man slapped his knees and laughed.

Alicia chuckled, not daring to clarify should it upset the old man. Still, she wished he knew she had grown up too.

“Haha, I remember it like it was yesterday when we helped babysit you and change your diapers. And now’re you’re already learning your ABCs,” Charles continued. He was downgrading her age by the minute.

Alicia turned crimson and became very interested in her feet. Only Charles could get away with infantilizing her with words like this.

“Hmm, what’t the matter dear, do you need to go the potty?” The older man asked concerned, “Suzy, I think Ally needs the toilet…”

Alicia buried her face in her hands as she cringed inwardly.

“Dear,” Susan said putting and hand on her husband’s shoulder, “I think we have held up Alicia long enough now.”

“Hmm? Oh, Yes of course, her mother might be worried,” he smiled at Alicia. “Come visit us anytime, Ally.”

Alicia took a deep breath. “Of course, Mr. Bennett, you know I love visiting you two, and Percy.”

“Here you go, sweetie” Susan gave Alicia a ten-spot, and a bag of chocolate chip cookies she fished out from the pantry. “For your troubles.” She mouthed a silent ‘sorry’ to Alicia.

“No trouble at all Mrs. Bennett. I’m happy to help,” Alicia said and graciously took her payment, her embarrassment now abating. She really enjoyed Mrs. Bennett's cookies after all.

Alicia munched on a cookie as she entered their kitchen. Her mother was busy with the laundry. “Already spoiling your appetite before lunch, hmm?” she grinned. Alicia looked like a little chipmunk with her cheeks stuffed with chocolate chip.

“Ish jus one iddle coogie, mom,” Alicia said between chewing.

Emily just shook her head at her daughter’s antics. “Make sure it’s just the one then, sweetie.” She began thinking about lunch ideas. “Hmm, maybe a nice chicken alfredo.” She started defreezing the chicken.

Alicia spent most of her time inside the house the rest of the day, checking her phone every so often for any information regarding the shoot. It wasn’t until sunday evening when she was getting ready for bed that she heard a message pop up on her phone. Alicia scrambled to read its contents.

‘Hey Alicia! Sorry for messaging you so late, had to hear back from another employee. We’ll be meeting up at the disclosed location tomorrow at 9.00 am. We’re doing some commercial shoots as well, so you might be looking at a bonus! See you there! Regards, Sofia’

The news of a bonus sounded very enticing to Alicia as she opened up the file with the location. Immediately the dark pit returned and it became hard to breathe. They were meeting at the local park just a few minutes away from her house.

Alicia laid restless in her bed, her mind racing. What will people say when they see me? What if anyone I know sees me there? They’d label me a pervert! Should I just call in sick, play hooky?

Alicia knew that her mother would found out though. She had a distinct ‘mother-intuition’ when Alicia was faking it. It also would look suspicious if she called in sick the moment there was a public photo shoot, due to her outburst in the changing room last friday.

Sofia will probably wonder what’s up. What if she calls my mom!? she thought as the irrational fears settled in. She had put down her mother’s phone number in case of emergency in the documents she had signed, so the chances weren’t zero. Alicia couldn’t risk her mother probing Sofia about her work there.

Alicia laid awake until exhaustion hit her and she went into a restless sleep, her uneasy stomach churning throughout the night.

That morning, Alicia awoke with a jolt as her phone kept buzzing. She turned it over and saw it read ‘8.00 am’. I guess I didn’t oversleep, if that’s a good thing, she thought, rubbing the tiredness out of her eyes.

Her mother greeted her as she went into the kitchen. “Morning, sleepyhead. I was almost about to go wake you up. Come get some food.”

Alicia grumbled as she climbed her chair to get some breakfast. Today was oatmeal which was okay, but not really a favorite of hers.

“I take it you didn’t sleep well last night?” Her mother said noting the bags under her eyes. “Better get as much energy as you can, sweetie, if you have full day of modeling ahead of you.”

Alicia didn’t respond and just put some sugar and cinnamon on her steaming bowl of oatmeal. She gently blew on it and started eating.

Emily looked towards Alicia’s drooping eyelids and made a decision. She fetched a bottle of Nutridrink and placed it next to her daughter.

Alicia looked up with a groan. “Mom, I had one yesterday!”

“I know, honey, but you’re looking dreadful and it’s important that you have the energy today,” she tried.

“Can’t I just have a coffee instead?”

“You know we don’t usually have that at home, Alicia. Besides, you can’t—” she stopped herself.

“I can’t what?” Alicia squinted her eyes.

She held her tongue. Patience, Emily.., she reminded herself. “Nothing dear, but please, I’d hate for you to feel bad on the second day of your job. Just have a a few sips, for me?”

Alicia kept squinting for a few seconds until she felt guilty. Mom’s just looking out for me and I’m being a jerk about it.

“Is it chocolate flavored?” she sighed.

“Yup, your favorite!” her mother cheered.

Small blessings…Alicia thought and unscrewed the cork of the bottle. As usual it wasn’t overly sweet, but the chocolate taste help wash it down. They ate their oatmeal in silence, and then Emily had to depart to work herself, driving away in her old Honda.

Alicia preferred walking, even though it took longer for her to get places. If she had to ride with her mother in the car, she had to sit in a booster seat, which just further embarrassed her.

She went upstairs to get dressed, opting for another pair of button up jeans and a blue T-shirt. She washed her face, brushed out a few knots in her curly hair and took a tentative whiff under her armpit. Eh, smells fine, she decided and put her hair in a ponytail.

Time was fast approaching, but even with the stressful reminder of the locale of the photoshoot she steeled herself. No one’s going to recognize you, Alicia. It’ll be fine, she said, and took a deep breath before heading out.

Despite her breakfast, Alicia was still a bit tired. I need a pick-me up, she thought and headed to a nearby coffee stand. She flashed her ID at the cashier before they could ask any questions and purchased a small espresso.

Sipping it down she felt her tiredness go away. Alica discarded the empty mug in a trash can at the front of the park before heading in.

This one's an extra long chapter. Probabably my favorite so far. Hope you enjoy! :)

---

The park was nearly empty of people, except for an elderly man feeding the birds at one of the benches. The temperature was nice and cool and the wind caressed her face as she went on the walkway passing daisies and foxgloves.

She kept an eye out for any camera equipments that she could find and eventually her eyes fell onto the park’s playground. Great, Alicia thought sarcastically.

She spotted Michelle and Sofia waving at her from the set. There was an opaque tent set up near the playground, most likely a temporary changing area. Sofia was sporting fairly business casual clothes in the nice summer weather.

“Good morning, Alicia,” They said practically at the same time.

“Did you have a good weekend?” Sofia continued.

“As good as any I suppose,” Alicia said. While the coffee had helped energize her, she was still feeling a bit fatigued. Her mind was still struggling whether people would know she wasn’t a real child.

If Sofia picked up on Alicia’s grumpy disposition she kept quiet about it. She clapped her hands together. “Great, we have a busy day ahead of us so it’s better we get you changed right away!”

Alicia cringed at the manager’s double entendre. At least no one else is here.

She sighed. Let’s get his over with—

“Hi!” a voice called out behind them, “sorry if we’re a late, my littlest one had a blowout just about as we were leaving.”

“Oh no trouble at all, you’re just in time,” Sofia smiled at the figure behind Alicia.

Alicia stood completely still as if waiting for a predator to pass. Slowly she turned around to look at the woman. She was a young, black-haired woman pulling a baby stroller and in her other hand was a girl no more than three years old with braids and a pink bow in her head.

No, no, no, she thought as she recognized the woman from her earlier mishap at the ice-cream parlor. It was Jenny.

“I was just going to get Alicia ready,” Sofia said matter of factly.

Jenny cocked her head and turned towards the small figure.

“Oh, it’s you sweetie. I didn’t know you were a model too,” Jenny cheered.

Alicia blushed seeing the woman again. How was she going to talk her way out of this one?

“Actually,” Sofia interrupted, “This is the ‘older’ model that I talked to you about. Seems like you are already acquainted though.”

Alicia gave her manager a look of shock. Sofia had talked to other employees about her? Her dread became palpable as the dark pit in her stomach grew. Alicia started sputtering, words failing her.

“What? This cutie right here? I thought you had meant someone differently abled, perhaps,” Jenny said quizzically.

“Well, Alicia is actually quite a bit older than she looks, but she’s been a pleasure to work with,” Sofia said with a small glint in here eyes.

Alicia was unsure how much Sofia was just talking her up or if she was just straight being diabolical at this point.

“I-I really shouldn’t be here,” she stammered. “It’s not right.” She looked towards the little toddler girl that was hiding behind her mother’s legs, peeking to look at Alicia. The young woman started to feel like an impostor.

“Mommy, who dat giwl?” she lisped behind a purple pacifier.

“Well Isabella, seems like little Alicia here is going to be your playdate for today. Remember what I told you this morning?” she said.

Whaaaat?! Alicia looked back at Sofia like she had grown three heads and spitting fire. The fact Jenny was still talking like Alicia was just another toddler was also quite upsetting.

“Oh ok,” Isabella said and waved shyly at Alicia.

Alicia turned around and gritted her teeth. “Sofia?! Explain this!”

“Hmm? Oh today’s photoshoot is a co-shoot between you and Isabella. We’re collaborating with Green Toys, and you two are going to test out a few of their new brand toys,” she said.

Alicia put both her arms and gestured towards Jenny and Isabella. “B-but this can’t be right? Surely this is illegal?” She kept a hushed tone hoping no one else was around to hear the conversation.

“Everything is in order and Jenny has agreed to this cooperation. Everything is perfectly legal, unless someone decides to do a crime. Are you going to commit a crime, Alicia?” Sofia said looking down at her.

“N-no of course not, it’s just…” Alicia stammered.

Sofia leaned down. “You’re uncomfortable with the situation.”

“Yes!” she called out.

“Understandable, and I’m sorry. I should have clarified this in my message, but it really was last minute,” Sofia apologized. “This brand deal is quite important and I had to pull some strings to rent out the playground for the day.”

“But my comfort isn’t as important I guess?” Alicia sneered, her attitude darkening due to lack of sleep.

Sofia raised an eyebrow. “Alicia a lot of models end up doing shoots that they aren’t comfortable with at times. You learn to take things in stride and just remember that it’s a job like any other. Besides Jenny and Isabella won’t stay for the whole day so just endure it, ok?”

“Hmmph, whatever,” she huffed and went inside the tent.

The tent had been set up with a foldable changing table carrying Star Agency’s patterned diapers, cream and powder. There were a few outfits on hangers next to it. The tent had been split with a partition screen and behind was an identical set up.

Haah, so now my privacy matters, she thought to herself. still I suppose it’s something. She went behind the folding screen and waited for Sofia.

She eyed todays outfits which were only two it seemed. A dark shortall and white grey t-shirt combination with snaps in the rear and a yellow sunday dress with no snaps. Alicia was unsure if that was for the better or worse. What does it matter? It’ll be obvious that I’m diapered anyway.

“Settling in?” Sofia emerged from behind the screen.

“Oh Yes, I’m a tent person now. I’ll build my kingdom here,” Alicia said sarcastically.

“Oh dear, a monarchy? Well, don’t forget about us paupers when you’re queen” Sofia said trying to lighten the mood. “But really, Alicia, you’re grumpier than I had expected this morning.”

“Yeah, sorry I didn’t get much sleep. I kept thinking someone I would run into someone I knew…and lo and behold,” she grumbled.

“You know Jenny?” Sofia asked.

“Well, no not really, just a chance encounter from earlier,” Alicia said.

Jenny and Isabella had entered the tent now while meanwhile Michelle looked after the baby in the stroller.

“Aww piddy,” Isabella said referring to the clothes on the hanger.

“Yes, Bella, the outfits are very pretty. You ready to get changed, baby girl?” she cooed.

“Yeth, mommy!” she said excitedly.

“Guess we better get you changed as well, Alicia,”Sofia said.

“Just get it over with,” Alicia said quietly and reluctantly undressed, putting her clothes on a chair. When she was naked except for her underwear she climbed up on the foldable changing table and laid down with her arms crossed.

Sofia had to hold back a smile when she saw the little adult pout. She unfolded the thick, baby diaper and asked Alicia to lift up. Alicia huffed, but made the move to take off her underwear and raised her butt. The softness of the diaper dug into her bottom much to her chagrin and she wished she was a thousand miles way. Sofia started taking out the baby powder, but Alicia gave her a stare that said ‘I will end you’.

Sofia sheepishly put the powder away. “Sorry, force of habit.” She pulled up the diaper and secured it snuggly around Alicia’s waist.

“So Alicia, what outfit should we start with?” Sofia asked.

“Doesn’t matter,” she said and turned away. Which she shouldn’t have done as she caught sight of Isabella’s head as she laid on her changing table. The little girl had been eyeing her curiously as she had been changed and gave another little wave to Alicia.

Alicia turned beet red and looked the other way.

Sofia shrugged and took the yellow sundress of the hanger and handed it too Alicia who slipped it on. She was handed a pair of white sandals as well. They waited until Jenny and Isabella were ready and stepped out. Isabella wore a blue sunday dress with similar white sandals as Alicia with the exception of the purple pacifier in her mouth.

Michelle had set up the remainder of the equipment in the meanwhile and waited for the stars to arrive. In the playground’s sandpit were several toys placed in a deliberate manner and on a white, plastic table with chairs laid an assortment of a toy tea set complete with cups, plates and a teapot.

Isabella eagerly took a spot at the table at the wishes of her mother.

Alicia turned towards Jenny. “You’re really okay with this happening?”

Jenny chuckled. “It’s certainly a bit different from what I was led to believe, but I should have asked Sofia for clarification on the matter. Still, I need to apologize to you.”

“Apologize to me?” Alicia asked.

“Yes I was wrong to treat you like that the other day. I saw you…‘struggle’ in the que and I acted without thinking, and then I waited for you outside like a creep. I said some very demeaning words and for that I apologize,” Jenny said.

Alicia couldn’t believe her ears at the heartfelt apology. Jenny really did sound like she meant every word. Perhaps she wasn’t a mortal enemy after all.

“N-no, you’re not a creep. You were just concerned that’s all, and you did help me in a way,” Alicia said sheepishly.

“Still I should have been more mindful, and for that I am sorry,” Jenny said.

“If anything I feel like the creep right now…” Alcia said and trailed off.

“How old are you really if you don’t mind me asking, Alicia,” Jenny whispered. In the playground Isabella was looking eagerly at Alicia and patted the chair next to her.

“I-i turned nineteen this spring,” Alicia stammered quietly.

“I see,” she said and seemed to ponder for a few seconds. “Well, Alicia do you think you can do me a favor?”

“W-what kind of favor?” she said nervously.

“Will you please play pretend with my daughter? She’s very shy around her peers and she’s had a hard time finding friends in preschool,” Jenny asked.

“She doesn’t look very shy to me,” Alicia said as Isabella was waving her over.

“Oh she’s not camera shy at all and she loves to play dress up,” Jenny said. “It’s just when there’s a lot of kids around she locks up and mostly just plays by herself.”

Alicia looked over to Sofia and Michelle who were waiting for things to start and resigned herself.

“Well, this is my job after all, so sure I’ll play along for Isabella’s sake,” Alicia sighed.

“Thank you, Alicia. You’re very kind,” Jenny smiled.

Ok here goes nothing, she thought and headed over to the table where Isabella sat. Isabella grinned behind her pacifier when she saw Alicia heading over.

“Um, hi, Isabella,” Alicia said and took a seat, her diaper acting as a cushion against the plastic chair.

“Hewwo, Awicia,” she said. She was already engrossed in the new toys before her.

“Whatcha making there?” Alicia asked.

“Tea n’ googies,” she said and grabbed a pile of sand with a toy spade and started making mudpies.

Alicia heard the cameras going off and figured she might as well busy herself. She pretended to pour some tea into their cups as Isabella kept making sandy treats.

“That looks yummy,” Alicia said trying her best to sound cheerful.

“Mhm, Ahm maging chocowate chib googies,” she said and made tiny mud-balls representing the chips.

“I love chocolate chip cookies,” Alicia said earnestly. “Are they your favorite too?”

She nodded. “Mhm, mommy maken them fow me,” she said.

“I have a neighbor that makes really good chocolate chip cookies, her name is Susan…” Alicia said trying to make conversation as she told Isabella about her elderly neighbors.

The girls started talking about everything and nothing. Whenever Alicia couldn’t understand what Isabella meant she just nodded and poured some more pretend tea for them.

“Awicia? Whew yu mommy?” Isabella looked up.

The young woman knew this was going to come up, but she took it in stride. “My mom’s at work. She’s a doctor.”

“My mommy wowks wif babies,” Isabella declared.

“Like a preschool teacher?” Alicia asked.

“Mhm, but now she home awot wid mah bwother, Jack,”

Alicia figured Jenny was on maternity leave for the time being. Probably why Isabella could attend photo shoots this time of day.

They continued chatting while Sofia and Jenny was talking between themself on a nearby bench. Seemed like Sofia didn’t have much to do in this instance since there were no necessary posing for the shoot.

Must be nice, Alicia thought and took another pretend sip of her tea.

Michelle repositioned the camera a few times during the shoot while the girls were busy pretend-eating mudpies. “Mm, so good,” Alica said and took another pretend bite “You are such a good baker, Isabella.”

“Fank yu,” she said with a smile, “yu fun, Awicia.”

Alicia blushed a little. God I wonder what mom would say if she saw me now, she’d freak for sure.

After an hour the girls were called in for a costume change and soon came out wearing shirts and shortalls. The shortalls once again hugged Alicia’s thick diaper and made its soft interior known. Isabella of course did not mind it at all and sat down in the sandpit to play with some toy cars.

Might as well make the most badass road and town I can, she thought.

Alicia took a spade and a bucket an proceeded to make a nice road with some ‘houses’ for Isabella to drive through much to the little girl’s delight.

There was a small refreshment break and Jenny went up and handed her daughter a sippy cup with juice. Alicia looked on while Isabella was slurping down the juice with a hum. She was starting to get a little parched herself.

“Hey Alicia,” Jenny said, “do you want some—”

“N-no,” Alicia belted out, implying she didn’t need a sippy cup.

“—refreshments too?” She held out an ordinary bottle of water.

“Oh,” Alicia looked sheepish, “Thanks.” She took the water bottle and drank a few sips of water.

“No problem, Alicia,” Jenny said with a smile.

Alicia blushed and chugged the water bottle to discourage further conversation.

The photoshoot resumed. Unfortunately for Alicia it had attracted a few onlookers at this point, mostly elderly people Alicia didn’t know.

It’s okay, they don’t know me, she repeated inside her head. They just think I’m another toddler…great. Alicia grimaced.

Another thirty minutes of playtime ensued and Alicia was starting to feel a slight urge to use the facilities as she felt her bladder acting up, but she wasn’t about to announce she needed a ‘potty break’ in front of a crowd and held it. Another fifteen minutes passed as Michelle was snapping away with the camera.

Just a bit more, they are done soon, she thought to herself as her bladder ached for relief.

That is until Isabella stood up and bent her knees slightly. Alicia didn’t process what she was doing until she heard the toddler started grunting. The action triggered something in Alicia and she felt herself get distracted. Suddenly her needs to relieve herself became very urgent, causing her to fidget.

“Ahm poopy, mommy!” Isabella announced causing some laughter in the background.

“Uh oh, best we take a little break then. Oh…um, Alicia?” she said as she came to fetch her daughter. “Ehm, do you need a break too?” she whispered.

Alicia just nodded and went stiffly inside the changing room. Sofia was at her side pretty quickly to her credit. Alicia went past the partition screen and frantically tried to undress as her needs became more and more urgent. Sofia stepped in to untape the diaper and Alicia fumbled buttoning her pants as her body was tap dancing. In her haste she didn’t care to put on her underwear or training bra and just haphazardly put on her T-shirt.

“Oh what a messy girl you are, yes you are,” Jenny cooed at her daughter while she was cleaning her up. Overhearing these words, Alicia started to feel her control slipping.

Close to bursting, she leapt out of the tent and over to a nearby restroom in the park. Running made things worst and she could already feel a few droplets making their way down her legs. She found the family restroom unoccupied and went in with a hurry, quickly locking the door.

Come on, stupid buttons! she screamed internally. Her spasming bladder ached beyond belief, and it made it hard for her to control her motor functions. Until it didn’t.

Alicia gasped as she felt her jeans filling with warmth that pooled down onto the cold, dark floor. What must’ve been seconds felt like forever as Alicia was helpless in stopping the stream. She moaned slightly as her bladder finished emptying itself.

She looked downward and blinked hoping it was just all a nightmare, and that she’d wake up in her bed. When no such news came, she buckled and had to steady herself against the wall. A feeling of helplessness washed over her and Alicia started to whimper.

---

A few minutes passed until Sofia started to become concerned about her little star model.

She made her way to the restroom. Honestly why didn’t she just say something sooner? I hope she’s doing alright.

Her concerns were valid as she heard a low sobbing coming from within the restroom.

“Alicia, are you okay?” she said.

“Go away!” Alicia’s voice muffled by the door.

“You know I can’t do that, sweetie. I’m responsible for your wellbeing while you’re on set,” she said.

“I don’t need you,” Alicia said teary eyed.

Give me strength. Sofia pinched her nose bridge. She went closer to the door. “Alicia I can tell that you’re in a predicament right now. I’m going to back and fetch some supplies, but we are on a schedule here. Please let me in when I get back.”

Alicia knew that she couldn’t stay inside of here forever, but she didn’t care at the moment. She just wanted to curl up and die. How could I have done something so childish…

She sniffed and felt sorry for herself until she heard a knock on the door.

“Alicia, it’s Sofia, please let me in door,” her manager said.

Alicia in that moment wanted nothing more than tell Sofia to go to hell, but she didn’t have any options really. She couldn’t go home in soaked pants. “O-okay.” she sniffled and unlocked the door.

Sofia stepped in and adopted a sympathetic look towards the little girl. She was carrying the short sunday dress, a diaper, a packet of wipes and a dark plastic bag. “Okay, Alicia. I understand that you are upset about the situation, but know I am only here to help.”

Alicia didn’t respond and averted her gaze.

Sofia noted a changing table in the restroom. “I’m going to help you get clean. Please don’t fight me on this.”

“What does it matter. I have already signed my life away, what’s a little dignity a long the way…” Alicia dared not look Sofia in the eyes.

“You haven’t signed your life away, Alicia. You’ve made a choice that you regret and you have trouble coming to terms with it,” Sofia wanted to say that Alicia’s plight was self-inflicted, but she held her tongue.

“Now, I’m here to help you, okay? I’m going to take off your pants and put you on the changing table,” Sofia’s voice denoted no arguments.

“F-fine, please just hurry,” Alicia sobbed quietly.

Sofia unbuttoned Alicia’s pants and lifted her up on the cold changing table, causing her to shudder. She warmed up some baby wipes with hot water and proceeded to wipe her clean. She took some paper towels from the restroom and patted Alicia down.

Here I am. A grown woman getting my ass cleaned and diapered by a lady not even 10 years my senior. How did my life take such a turn? she thought as Sofia lifted her legs and slid a fresh, thick diaper under her bum.

Alicia noticed a familiar sweet scent and looked as Sofia produced a bottle of baby powder from her pocket. “N-no, please,” Alicia said, feeling that such an act would diminish her further.

“Alicia,” Sofia said sternly, “like it or not, the powder will help against any chafing that might crop up. You still have a few hours of modeling to complete for the day. Now you can be uncomfortable if you want, but I better not be hearing about it.”

“Fine, just powder my butt already!” Alicia huffed. Unbelievable!

Sofia complied and sprinkled a generous amount of powder unto Alicia’s nethers.  Then she made sure the diaper was snug around her small waist.

“Next time just tell us you need a break, Alicia…or keep quiet if you want and just go in the diaper. It’s all the same to me really,” Sofia shrugged.

Alicia balked at the thought of deliberately going in the diaper like a toddler.

“I didn’t want to say anything because there were people around!” she gritted her teeth.

Sofia threaded the dress onto Alicia. “Alicia look in the mirror. What do you see there?”

She turned towards the mirror above the sink, her puffy red eyes hidden between her brown locks.

“A freak wearing a toddler dress and a butt prison,” she said

“That’s not what I see, dear. I see a brave woman doing her best with what the world has given her. You’ve been dealt a bad hand and things haven’t worked out quite like you expected, but you’re here and you’re working as hard as you can. Even if that means you’re wearing youth outfits and briefs,” Sofia said trying to mitigate the attire for what it really was.

She continued. “Besides, you’ve really made Isabella’s day today. She’s never done so well before than with you here, and her mother is very happy you played with her. It’s not always easy winning the hearts of the little ones.”

Alicia huffed. “She just thinks I’m like her, obviously.”

“Well she is an actual toddler, but the point remains. You’ve moved her heart and that’s gotta count for something, right?” Sofia tried.

Alicia thought about it and she had to admit that it had felt good to make Isabella happy. She understood what she was going through herself as she also struggled making friends when she was little. “Yeah, of course, Sofia. Isabella is a good kid, and I hope she makes a lot friends in the future.”

“Mhm, I think she’d very much like to find out that you’re okay too. So what do you say, ready to head back out?” Sofia smiled.

“Okay,” Alicia said and hopped down from the changing table.

Sofia put Alicia’s drenched jeans into the plastic bag and they went out to face the music. Luckily most of the crowd had scattered at that point, so Alicia didn’t have to hide herself too bad.

“Awicia!” Isabella called out when she saw her turning the playground. She waddled over and put her little arms around Alicia.

“Yu ok?” she said with concern.

Alicia patted Isabella’s back and chuckled at the attention. “Yes, Isabella I’m okay. I just had to go really bad.”

“Das ok, Awicia. Ahm poddy twaining too,” she said.

Alicia blushed but didn’t correct the girl. What was the use really? Isabella couldn’t understand that Alicia was much older than her.

Alicia noticed Sofia smiling at their interaction but gave her a stern look.

“Mommy said we can pway a liddle longa. Wanna pway?”

“Of course, Isabella. What do you want to play?” Alicia asked.

The girls continued to play pretend for another thirty minutes until Jenny, Isabella and little Jack had to break off.

Before they left, Jenny produced a pair of small grey sweatpants and handed them discreetly to Alicia. “I figured you might need a change of trousers. Don’t worry, they are totally clean. Just wash them up before returning them.”

Alicia blushed but accepted the pants anyway since it was greater than the alternative. At least they’re not bright pink.

They exchanged contact information and Alicia promised to return the pants at the earliest convenience.

“And thank you again for playing with my daughter.  She’s taken a real shine to you, and I bet you’ll be the only thing she’ll talk about for a while,” Jenny said.

“I had fun, all things considered,” Alicia said catching herself being earnest.

“Glad to hear it, sweetie. I hope we can collaborate more in the future,” Jenny smiled.

Isabella waddled up to Alicia and gave her another hug which she reciprocated. “Bye Awicia, fank yu fo bein mah fwiend.” It almost made Alicia tear up.

“Take care Isabella, and you too, Jenny,” she said.

For Alicia there was another two hours of modeling ahead of her, but she didn’t have to play with any more toys and just posed as Sofia directed.

When they were in the temporary changing room again. Alicia didn’t fight nor flee when Sofia untaped her diaper and even let her undress her, which amused Sofia a bit, but she didn’t say anything.

Alicia dressed in her regular clothes, minus her jeans and pulled up the sweatpants. It was slightly mortifying how well they fit her.

“All in all, I want to say that you did a great job today, Alicia,” Sofia praised.

“Thanks, despite the extenuating circumstances it was fun making Isabella happy,” she replied

“I will take that into account for when we schedule future photo shoots and you’ll be happy to hear that I’ve included a bonus in today’s paycheck.”

Alicia fistpumped at the prospect of sweet cash. It almost made today’s ordeal worth it, almost. “Nice! Well I’m heading off. When’s the next photo shoot.”

“Most likely not until wednesday but I’ll message you details.”

“Please be as thorough as you can this time,” Alicia pleaded.

“Duly noted,” Sofia said.

Alicia said goodbye to Sofia and Michelle and walked home, carrying the opaque plastic bag in her hands. She wanted to hurry home to do some emergency laundry before her mother came home for the day.

She put the soaked jeans into the washing machine. Then she stopped to think. It’s a little suspicious to only wash one pair of pants.

She scrambled up to her room and found some used but not overly dirty clothes and threw them — along with the sweatpants she was wearing — into the machine as well. She turned it on and went back upstairs to find another pair of pants.

She made some sandwiches and tea and then collapsed exhausted on the couch watching some TV.

Damn, 57 channels and nothing on, Alicia thought. She settled on a animal documentary and it wasn’t long until she had fallen asleep to the sounds of whales.

---

Her mother got home from the clinic a little earlier than usual since it had been a slow day. She went inside to see the familiar sight of her daughter passed out on the living room couch, drooling into a pillow. Emily went inside and swept some of Alicia’s brown locks out of her face and smiled at her little angel. She looks so peaceful sleeping like that, some things never change I suppose.

Emily then heard a ‘ding’ coming from the bathroom. Has she been washing clothes? She thought and went to check things out.

She took out the clothes so that they wouldn’t start smelling and started hanging them. Emily paused when she saw a pair of grey sweatpants that she’d never seen before. Curiosity taking over, she looked inside.

Emily knew then that she needed to have a talk with her daughter.

  • Haku changed the title to A Dependant Model (chapter 1-7)

It's a fun story, Haku, but you should know that the title is misspelled. It should be "dependent." 🙂

Thanks. Dependant is the UK spelling, but I can see where it get confusing since I might mix things up a bit.

Loved this chapter! Looking forward to more!!

(And in the British spelling they spell it dependant, while in the US they spell it dependent. So you can technically get away with the spelling you have. Just say you're British. :)

Thank you! English is not my first language, so there might be mistakes on the way.
