    Mia was very smart to get the teacher's (Pauline?) attention the way she did, and Pauline's line of thinking about how to get Lila to interact is just about spot on. Her thoughts about calling Lila'a parents sounds plausible and reasonable, however the call would still have to be made, although she could temper the information with a suggestion of how to help Lila with determining how many stuffies (or other toys) came with her that day?

    May your Dad make a Full speedy recovery with no lasting side effects from whatever caused his ICU visit. I can understand how stressful having a family remember in the hospital is. As for us here we can wait for you to post chapters when you have time.

    I'm thinking possibly more hypoglycemia than a diabetic issue. Lack of food with dehydration would cause the blood sugar to tank, however DKA is also a possibility.

    The human body is odd with what it can recover from, and what causes permanent damage elsewhere... Hopefully Maddy will have the recovery she wants to have even if it takes time to fully recover.

    I have a feelings that Mia already knows, and chose to ignore it. Lila may still have the fear of being found out and hopefully Mia will reassure her that she doesn't care. When I was younger the kids were able to play carefree like Lila and Mia do in the story, however nowadays there is more fear of something happening and parents are more watchful of the surroundings.

    Maybe the "senior designer" should have to wear the products they are designing for an extended time so that they know how it feels?
