  1. Something tells me Darlene isn't just talking about this instance, but potty training in general... ?
  2. In this situation many parents would add in a "diaper doubler" for a little extra boost. ☺
  3. In my mind the daytime incontinence was a combination of situational stressors and just overall stress and the nighttime incontinence by the medication. This issue, for me, is more plausible than just happening to hit a caregiver who just happens to have this extremely well paying research study available that she happens to know about. Of course, this is coming from someone who was riding a bicycle and was hit by a car. It just so happens that a nurse in one car and a doctor with their med student in another car both stopped to help. Then someone else just happened to have a towel so they could use it as traction to put my dislocated shoulder back in its socket before the ambulance even arrived. Stranger coincidences have happened.
  4. Sitting on Jess's lap makes perfect sense to me. Jess only has one ticket and it would make no sense to have a toddler seated across the plane from their caregiver. I also briefly thought they could try "they messed up and didn't seat my toddler next to me" but that could blow up as well since Sam's ticket is for an adult and was purchased separately by and for Sam so claiming this toddler IS Sam could be problematic. Also having someone the size of a 21 month old toddler (who, based on the median weight for that age, would wear size 4 diapers in current sizing) not be in diapers would be unusual. Especially on a flight where other people would have to deal with the consequences of any potty accidents. It would be pretty reasonable for flight staff, if they noticed, to gently recommend some "protection" since they would be tasked with cleaning up the potential consequences.
  5. Well, the first rule is: "Children in diapers who can stay dry longer than 2 hours at a time and have no messy accidents for longer than 4 hours, qualify to start our potty-training program, pending their parents’ approval of starting the program." It doesn't seem like he stayed dry for two hours. It definitely seems like Kyle is on the road to not qualifying for potty training.
  6. If I was in Melody's position Ellie's already meager freedoms would be curtailed further. Since she snuck out of bed, the bed would become a crib. Since she ran away Ellie would be in a harness and toddler reins when she was outside. Not sure if it can work that way in this world but it would be interesting to find out what Ellie would think about spending some time as an L-1...
