Loveable_guy
I agree on the braided fishing line being stronger. I also agree it can be irritating. To limit the irritation I have been using a single line. That means I'm tying off on the inside of the stent two very secure knots. So far in several uses there are no problems to report and the irritation is almost gone for me.When tying my knots I'll use needle nose pliers to pull the knots tight. My line of choice is 10# rated from a company called Spiderwire, EZbraid. The package says maximum strength and smoothness. I found this product at Walmart. 1 Link to comment
cathdiap
Using a stent you instantly become totally urinary incontinent. The consequences of total urinary incontinence cannot be ignored. It is always there. You have to wear diapers at all times, except when showering, taking a bath or swimming. Some activities are no longer possible (e.g. public sauna) or become very difficult (multi-day hikes, canoe trips, unexpected sleepovers). You will feel it mentally and physically all the time. Leaks, diaper bulges and low hanging butts are always in the back of your mind. And no matter how long you have been incontinent, it will always feel unnatural and socially awkward to wet your pants. Whether you are in public, watching TV on the couch or sleeping in bed. Yes, it is very exciting, that is why I developed my stent to experience that helpless, disabled feeling. But it has also made me realize that it is that same excitement that eventually wears me down. And then I am always glad that I can undo the situation. By simply pulling the stent out. 7 Link to comment
cathdiap
This is my homemade stent. A cheap, safe and non-migrating device to experience total urinary incontinence in seconds, for as long as I want. Hardly any feeling that it is there and yet complete diaper dependency Mind fuck to the extreme. If you want to know whether permanent incontinence is something for you, stents might be a good way to find out. Believe me, it is a lot harder than you think. This is me using a stent and wearing a diaper. 3 Link to comment

n2diapers7
Cathdiap could you post a link for dental floss that doesn't break? I've had no luck with the kinds I've tried. Especially when tieing knots. Are those rings on the end for a retrieval tool and what tool do you use if so? On 8/10/2024 at 4:09 AM, ReggieRolf said: My suggestion is that fishing line is the best. No, I mainly use them to prevent the retrieval line from disappearing into the urethra. But if that does happen, I can pull them out again with a crochet hook. Link to comment

Like Cathdiap said it will not render you incontinent if it did, I would be by now. Link to comment

Needless to say I have been following Reddy`s topic and the stories from Bobby Brown with great interest, and at times it even felt appealing, but it is something wouldn’t do for multiple reasons. First of all, I wouldn’t be able to get the funds together to do so, it is quite expensive. From what I have been reading it kind of struck me it wasn’t exactly smooth sailing as strictures caused issues. If I understood it all correctly they needed a couple of surgical interventions to get the job properly done. Maybe they knew it needed more than one intervention, that I do not know. Traveling from the Netherlands is quite a trip might be a ten hour flight, doesn’t come cheap either. The stent I use has the same effect there is absolutely no way I can go without diapers and it is insanely cheap. It took quite a while to get it just about right but now that I found the exact measurements it doesn’t bother me a bit. I adjusted the measurements of my stent in very small steps sometimes as little 3 millimeters (1/8”). Nowadays if it starts to hinder it is simply an indication that it needs cleaning, and these intervals vary. In the end if I were to spend 10 euro`s ($12) per year on materials to make stents it is a lot, as I only use two stents per year. Never had a UTI over the years, I cant see it as the retrieval line and the O-ring at the end of the retrieval line are hidden under my foreskin. Last but not least if I need to take it out for another reason than cleaning, one might call it cheating, it can be done knowing thing will be back to normal in one or two days at the most. 1 2 Link to comment

No dripping or leaking I have to pee more often so I’ll stay diapered. In the beginning once I take the stent out I might have to pee like every 15 minutes, these intervals increase rapidly. In the beginning you could call it urge incontinence, I wouldn’t be able to make it to the toilet if the urge hits but like I said it doesn’t last long. 12 hours ago, Kissnofrog said: Could someone post the link to that story that you are referring to? Spargano
Wow, the difference between a modified foley and a silicone stent (cathidap’s design is night and day. They aren’t event the same animal. The level of drainage is significantly easier and the irritation is minimal if at all, plus next to no migration. i am using floss as the retrieval line. I may switch that out for a single fishing line method but so far the the tinsel strength of the floss is adequate for pulling the stent. It also feels less irritating than the fishing line if I am honest. one thing I think is important is that it wasn’t draining for the first hour or so. I think it takes a decent backup to flush and start the irrigation process to start. At first I thought I didn’t make it long enough but it is working fine. 1 Link to comment

The top of the stent may be too high in the bladder or the inlet may be resting against the bladder wall, blocking the passage of urine until the bladder expands enough to detach from the inlet. 1 Link to comment

My other post got deleted, but you are 100% correct. I was looking at the diagram of anatomy with measurements that you posted a while back and realized my stent is very much too long and not resting where it should. My other post got deleted, but you are 100% correct. I was looking at the diagram of anatomy with measurements that you posted a while back and realized my stent is very much too long and not resting where it should. I have drastically shortened it. And it is draining perfectly being able to feel the bottom of the stent behind the scrotum to know that it is in place helps tremendously. I am using stainless steel for the bends inside the silicone tubing. It slides so easily now that I don’t need a pusher and can just guide the stent along the urethra until it pops into place. I will take a picture of my stent the next time I work out as it probably still not safe to run with it in. 1 Link to comment
foreverdl
I recently got a few what I think are nice looking silicone coated latex Foley catheters, 16fr. I have never done it myself . I have been cashed a few times in a hospital . I have questions , I have the whole kits for all 3 I have. If I do it myself and do it safe, can I leave it drain into my diaper for a time? and how long can I wear one? I really want to have time of unconditional pee. I do have times I cannot pee, and I do wear 24/7 I have for over 10 years. But it will not flow even when I am very very full. But I hate to do all of those pressure test etc. Any advice is ok. Spargano
One of the reasons for the stent route is Making a closed environment so that bacteria won’t migrate into the tube and into the bladder. there is no safe “time limit” but even the most daring don’t do it for more than 3 days and do a host of cleanings to minimize risk. before doing anything else, since you have never done it before would be to acclimate to the catheter. That might be difficult depending on your activity level. Do you have a bag to try letting it drain into the bag? as I am sure you have read from mine and others big mistakes, take it slow and learn your way around the catheter, urethra and bladder. Be prepared for it to burn like crazy the first time you remove it. That will go away the more you do it. But the general consensus I have seen is it not a good idea to let it just drain into the diaper. Link to comment

So I am reading you correct , that if I leave the open end in my diaper? I may get bacteria up in my bladder . I don't want that. The kits came with a few bags. So I may have to try it the safe way. Spargano
This is my stent and my potential replacement. The shorter one works but it has a tendency to migrate out. I am trying to see if a little longer and one piece will work. The problem was I was not able to inset the solid one into the prostate. It could be the fact that it is two pieces is what allows it to go up and in. during the day my first draft worked great and I only had to reseat it a few times. It was at night that I had the issue with the migration out. Link to comment
Fakename4me
And I will bring this up again for the European members out there. Has anyone contacted MedPro medical and tried one of these? Just wondering. No, they will not ship to the USA. And these come 10 to a box. Link to comment
