Another person traveling towards Incontinence
Loveable_guy replied to Spargano's topic in Incontinent-Desires
WOW, you are lucky the stent floated out on its own. You may want to ask the doc to keep the deposit as a retainer, You know just in case it happens again,, just kidding. -
Another person traveling towards Incontinence

Spargano, Welcome to the club, the club of those that have had surgery to remove a lost stent. You will be lucky if they are able to fish it out without cutting you. I was knocked out for the procedure. When I came to the first thing I did was to uncontrollably soak the mattress pad under me. My guess is they had flushed my bladder a few times and left the last fill in me. There was a lot of bleeding but no stitches. I can't image the conversation with your wife about all this. To this day my wife only knows I was in the hospital most of one day. Believing she would not handle the truth this is a subject we don't discuss. Best of luck to you. -
I have experimented with a mallecote catheter. To insert I used a piece of stiff nylon line from the weed whacker. Sliding the line down inside the cath pushes the head forward collapsing the balloon head. For me it was more risk that I was will take.

Order delivered to wrong house (I think)
Loveable_guy replied to wellpaddedagain's topic in Scoop The Poop
I had an order from Dell for a desktop PC. The zip code was wrong. Correct street and house number but wrong town. When I discovered it, I drove to there and grabbed it off their porch. I guess in a way that make me a porch pirate for the day. Fortunately no one was home but they had a Ring camera. Who knows if anyone noticed it our not. I had with the Dell invoice with the shipment tracking in in case the police showed up. It happens. -
Not the easiest to insert or remove, requires a flexible rod be pushed up inside the tip to collapse the head. Once in place the rod is withdrawn while cath stays in place. To remove the rod is re-inserted. Not real common in the USA.

Cathdiap,,While you maybe one of the original designers and author on the subject, there are several other sites discussing ways to force urinary incontinence. I feel the subject should stay. It is a valuable resource for all that follow. And remember, everything we see or read on the web is not always true or the best thing for you. Its up to the user to make intelligent decisions.

YEP, they asked many questions and I wore my hat down low covering my face until they knocked me out for the removal process. You should hear about the great escape after I came to. They would not allow me to drive or leave the hospital without an escort. Me on the other hand waned to get home before the wife did in hopes of not sharing the whole story. I bolted out the door and the hospital called the local police. I ducked in to the woods for a bit to avoid capture. Then I realized they have all your information, duh stupid me.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune but it can happen and yes it happened to me once. I hope they are able to safely fish your stent out without surgery. I was lucky in that they were able to retrieve my stent easily and I was sent home the same day. I used the event as a learning tool and still use a stent today. Funny thing was the hospital staff kept my stent for the wall shame or was it the look what stupid did encyclopedia they keep in the break room.

Got lucky this morning. No not the sexual type of lucky but the finding of quality diaper products at the Thrift store lucky. Scored three packs of Tranquility ATN overnight pull ups for $12.42. That's 54 diapers for about .23 cents each. They have a 4 x 4 bin box for diapers, mostly store brand junk but every now and then I find some good stuff. They are generally priced at $4.00 a package regardless of the product or the quantity in the package.

There are a few sites that will ship to the US, but the pricing is twice what a US product would be. Many years ago there was online retailer shipping from Florida that has long since closed. Then B4SN was shipping to the US, I think from Canada. But recently I have not found a reliable source within the US for Suprima products. Luckily, I have a good supply of Suprima pants on hand, and with hand washing they last forever.

Love the Suprima products, only wish you could still purchase in the US.

I went once to the docs for a UTI. They had a lot of questions. As a young male its rare to have a UTI. Who knew? I use a single 10lb test braided fishing line. I guess I got use to it as don't notice much at all.

Cathdiap, Your lucky the retrieval line worked. I once use a much smaller O ring at the end of my retrieval line and it got away from me on night. Oh sure I tried hooking the cord with a crochet hook, no luck The resulting trip to the ER was very embarrassing not to mention expensive too. I now use an O ring that fits comfortable just behind the head.

Now that looks like one very soaked diaper. Good thing you got around to a change before you soaked the bed. Oh and I have soaked the bed twice while sleeping with a stent. Wife is aware of my DL side but not of the Catheter play. I woke to a very wet bed. Got up and changed my diaper. Then using bath towels I lined my side of the bed and went back to sleep. In the morning the sheets and mattress pad got washed and I had some explaining to do. The second time was much worse and required the mattress to be replaced. With the new mattress and a WP cover was added. Now a days when sleeping with a stent in place I cut way back on my fluid intake a few hours before bed. Great job Spargano, we're all happy for you and your success.

I had my catheter stent in place today. I was looking to see if when laying down would it drain or not. When first laying down the flow would stop. But in 15-20 minutes the bladder pressure would build and the flow would restart. When I stood up I got the rush flow for whatever was remaining in my bladder. Now granted I was drinking lots of water as I love the loss of control the stent provides.

Fakename4me. Your answers follows my line of thinking but I do appreciate you taking the time to reply. I look forward to hearing from others on this mystery.

Nighttime erections are the worst when using a stent. When this happens to me I will generally get up and look out the window for a minute or two. During the time I will normally flood out and need to change. I have a general question regarding sleeping with a stent in place. Yes many of us have an issue with our stent backing up when laying down and or sleeping. How is it that if you were catheterized and connected to a collection bag you do not have this backup issue? Is the blockage happening after our stents?

For you punched holes, I use a Dermal took with a very fine buffing tips to smooth the edges that the punch makes. Taking your time you can actually polish the edges smooth. The trick is to go slow so the materials don't overheat and melt. In my tool cabinet you will find wet sanding paper up to 8000 grit. Search for 100 Pcs Assorted Shape Polishing Bits Buffing Wheel for Dremel Rotary Drill (Corundum Sand/Sesame/Cowhide/Rubber/Wool)

My thoughts are we need multiple openings in our stents, top and sides. From what I understand the bladder is a soft organ that when empty will collapse or reduce in size. When collapsed, the soft tissue may block an opening in our stent. I'm no expert, just my 2 cents.

I haven't commented in a while but I wanted to let you know that I am following your work and enjoy seeing your success and hearing about your failures. Great work and thanks for posting all the great information. Stay wet and be safe.

Thanks, when you are broke you learn to make do with what you have. I enjoy fixing things and look for ways to make improvements. Right now I'm working on the solar system in our RV, making it more efficient We generally will camp for 4 or 5 nights and try not to run the generator for refrigeration, cooking, lighting or entertainment.

A bag clip, now that scares me.

Easy enough to make your own. I used a soft shell of a pen, some silicon tubing and an Oring. The thread is used to keep the O-Ring with the clamp so I'm not loosing it. The pen shell can be any materials, maybe a dip tube from a spray bottle. Heat it a bit and shape it some. Crude but very inexpensive and functional.

Live and learn, most lessons are best learned the hard way. I've often said when interviewing for a work position 'I'm a graduate of the 'School of Hard Knocks' and I have the scars to prove it too. Just turned seventy this month, got a lot of scars.
