well, i was diagnosed adhd and depressed... but all i know is the only things keeping me from being healthy is anxiousness around people i know, and an intense hollow painful feeling in my stomach when i reflect on my younger years.

I'm autistic however I don't view it as a mental illness I view it as a mental uniqueness that brings atypical strengths and weaknesses. I also deal with some PTSD which really is like dragging a big heavy anchor around and the darn thing is such a pain.

guess if used to be can be used i still have one person i share the body with but have been told to leave that one alone

I have depression, some bipolar, a little paranoia, and possibly schizophrenia.

Uncle has schizo and MPD.

Granddad had alzheimer's.

Sister has Slight Disappointment Disease.

Older brother has Public Annoyance and Simple Bothersome Disorder.

Well based on the personality profile test I took I match up like this. I don't agree with paranoid, I'm not paranoid and I don't agree with avoidant. Schizotypal, I'm not sure what I think on that one,. The funny thing is there is no low answer so this test should be taken for what it is..just an online quiz.

...under technicalities, since Gender Identity Disorder is in the DSM, I do have a mental disorder.

I am also depressed for periods of time on occasion, behave in irregular patterns similar to a few personality disorders, and have a plethora of phobias and anxiety problems.

Then again, I'm a teenager.

hehehe i think we should petition the dsm board to include TEENAGE as an official diagnosis! that would be rad..

symptoms

acne, bad smell, greasy hair, lack of personal hygene for a while followed by intense interest in personal hygene

inability to clean room, inability to get up before 11 am, wanting money but unwilling to work for it, plagued by 'teenage angst', believes parents are the most horrible people in the world,

cannot wait to move out but still wants mother to do laundry, believes everything will be better once they are out of the house

you gotta take it a couple of times, i retook it and got low on Narcissitic since I'm not high on myself, just my mood fluctuates a lot so yeah, I know the BPD is probably right but I'm not paranoid or narcissitic. I don't think people are out to get me, I've just been burned a few too many times.

well the test is wrong.. as i have horrible OCD.. but then again, its not meant to be a diagnostic tool... oh no wait, edit.. i don't have obsessive compulsive personality..... i just have ocd... so the test is right .. my bad

It entirely depends on what the word "illness" means for the person asking. I have developmental disorders but no personality disorder, no dementia, no schizo-spectral disorder, no depression, anxiety or stress disorder - it's why I ask.

I have a learning disability that was not discovered until I was in college. I have dyslexia and ADD.

I was forced to perform in school. Failure was not an option. I got my ass whupped for not doing homework.

I learned to work around a disability.
