  1. Our wheelie bins get emptied every 2 weeks. Garden, glass and general recycling bins 1 week, black bin (general waste) the other. We get a bin cleaning company, but as I've mentioned before, this stuff is incredible; https://www.amazon.co.uk/Bin-Buddy-Fresh-Berry-Blast/dp/B015DWIOLG/ref=sr_1_6?dchild=1&keywords=bin+fresh&qid=1619905682&sr=8-6 (If you can get it over there - it is the ONLY bin product I've bought that works!) Downside to having a fortnightly collection is that come the final couple of days involves me getting a step ladder out, opening the bin and jumping into it to squash it all down. Then heaving at whatever putrid smells hit me, I'm someone who is prone to smells, hence the bin buddy stuff.
  2. Just do what you want to do and enjoy it how you want. Could be just doing it and an immediate clean up, or sitting down and feeling it go everywhere, or spending all day in it - whatever floats your boat. But as per previous comments, it will stink. If you are not living alone, open windows and don't sit on fabric furniture - the smell hangs around. Febreeze is a good companion, as is this stuff; https://www.amazon.co.uk/Bin-Buddy-Fresh-Berry-Blast/dp/B015DWIOLG/ref=asc_df_B015DWIOLG When I've felt compelled in the past, I throw some of this in the nappy disposal bag, double bag the nappy and then for good measure throw some of this in the wheelie bin as well. It really does do an amazing job of making the bin smell great anyway and will hide even the worst messy nappies! Also, a good trick I read on a forum (possibly on this one) years ago is to shower twice as the smell hangs around but also, very liberally throw baby powder in your next nappy and that'll get rid of any lingering whiffs.
  3. Genuinely it is bizarre how they've done it - they are SO thin when dry. During the day I'll throw one on in the morning, put a pair of tight boxers over the top and it is near impossible for anyone to see what you're wearing. Compared to anything from Rearz and Tykables (who make amazing nappies that I wear at night) these are very thin. The swelling ability though is something else. As soon as you've let go a couple of times, they'll swell and be noticeable by the end of the day. But I feel these are the best I can away with during the day, personally.
  4. Absolutely no question in my mind the winner should be ABU Peekabu. They are very thin and ridiculously comfortable but absorb an incredible amount. I am currently using these as my daytime nappy as they are very discreet. Even more discreet (in thinness and lack of sound) are the Tena Ultima nappies - but they are nowhere near as absorbent so you need to change more often (2 of these during the day for me vs 1x Peekabu)
  5. Just got my first pack now they're available here, in England. First impressions, I'm not convinced. They are very expensive and personally I find the fit a bit weird, but let's see how they do overnight ...
  6. Honestly? Life is too short, just tell her. If she doesn't accept it, you're young enough to move on if it really bothers you that much and if her reaction is negative and you can live with that, then fine. If her reaction is positive, then have fun! But do not sit on it by saying nothing as it'll eat away at you. People need to be more honest with each other.
  7. There is no better fitting / fixing nappy than a Tykables hook and loop nappy. I have worn everything there is to wear and Tykables come out top every time. No gapping and if they slightly move in the night, because of the hook and loop, they do up a little tighter with no issues. Best nappy after any Tykables are ABU Peakabu / Simple Ultra.
  8. Talking of walking @Little Sherri, I've had my own breakthrough this week. I posted on one of your or @oznl's threads about when I appeared downstairs "changed" and ready to go out, with the reaction I got about "not going out in THAT". Well yesterday (Monday), my wife just turned round and said "let's go for a walk, come on, get your shoes on". Knowing full well how I was dressed. I put my shoes on, went for a walk and it was really nice and relaxed - no issues, no dramas, no arguing, just what feels like an acceptance that is never spoken about. Next weekend the in-laws are visiting (garden only, we're UK tier 2, so no in-house contact), so another test to see if I don't have to "change" ... Life does feel so much more pleasant at the moment, long may it continue.
  9. I think I've said this about how I got 'acceptance' of the bodysuits. I left one "carelessly" slightly uncovered and then saw it folded up under the duvet. So I was like "okay I can wear these". Never anything said and then I just started openly wearing them. Last night my neck muscle was hurting, she offered to rub some voltarol in and said it was easier if I took my vest off. So I unpopped and took it off, let the cream soak in, then popped it back up, while she was sat there. So I really hope progress has been made. I mean it would be a damn sight easier to just talk about it, but I think you (and others) get this in that it just isn't that easy and will result potentially in an argument about it. So quiet acceptance is great, whilst trying not to rub it in people's faces. So, tomorrow morning, we have to go on a little family trip to pick something up. We don't normally need to go to many places at the moment thanks to the UK's tiered Coronavirus system, but we really do need to pick this thing up. So I will be throwing shorts and t-shirt on over my new normal underwear to drive. Before that has resulted in a moan and a discussion, but I'm wondering if we've evolved since then. I hope so, fingers crossed, let's see. I do genuinely feel so much happier wearing what I want with ease. haha, that is amazing! I love that description, will have to see if I can squeeze that in somehow to a conversation. It does make me chuckle that I sit on Zoom / Hangouts calls with my Chairman and CEO talking one to one with them. If only they knew what I wore. But then, who is to say that they're not sat there in alternate clothing. The thought of either of them in frilly pants or leather crotchless shorts makes me feel a bit ill though ...
  10. Absolutely, they are all good, potato, deep fried is brilliant. The other night I boiled up some potatoes (whole), let them cool, peeled them, sliced them finely, then sautéd them off in a mixture of olive oil, rapeseed oil and butter. They were magnificent. I realise I'm on a diaper forum, not a cooking forum. So I'm sat here in a white ABU Simple Ultra, Suprima plastic pants and a white Tykables bodysuit. My other half has headed to bed, so my shorts and t-shirt are now off and I can sit how I like. Actually on that note, my drawer which I allocated to bodysuits seems to have been accepted. I now have 5 of them, they get washed and folded in the normal laundry, which I do as I'm here WFH. My wife's job that she likes (?) doing is putting the washing away. A month or so ago while I was upstairs as well she asked "where do you want 'these'?". I just said "I've cleared a drawer there". Anyway, each time the washing is now put away, my bodysuits are in the drawer waiting for me. I consider that some progress. Hope that adds some relevance?
  11. FGS! Chips are bit fat oblong lumps of potato friend off in beef flavoured oil (Chips: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Triple-cooked_chips). Crisps are thin deep fried slices of 'potato' that have been flavoured heavily and stuffed in a sealed packet (Crisps: https://walkers.co.uk/crisps-range). What is wrong with you all ... ?
  12. I've got a pack of splash V2 (in medium) - they are decent, but my only complaint I guess during the day would be the noise - but I'm wearing them under lounge shorts with no compression, so they probably are more noisy. I've got some Inspire "original" on the way tomorrow too. Thought I'd give them a go, but I haven't seen the Elites or Essentials yet, will keep an eye out.
  13. Agree. Certain ABDL nappies are FAR better than the 'proper' medical ones for night time use. As I wear for need (at night), I've been exclusively wearing Tykables as they are BY FAR the best. ABU Simple Ultra are a decent back up and I've also tried the odd Rearz. But as you say, none of them are particularly discreet during the day - so I've been wearing them at weekends and whilst working from home this year, but if I know someone may come round I'll make sure I have a dry, non-bloated nappy on, or, dig out a Tena Slip. I would love to get away with wearing a Tykables, Rearz or ABU all the time in front of people, but unless you want to show off, you'll need something slimmer. I would actually love one of those companies to make a discreet daytime nappy that is thin when dry and without a HUGE capacity (maybe 2000ml) so there isn't too much swelling. Yes you'll need to change more often, but for those days when discretion is required, they'll sell like hot cakes.
  14. I actually think I would be blunt. I would pick them up and say "noticed you'd tied up, thank you, but I wondered what these were for?" The answer might well be "saw them on offer and thought I'd help out", which would be fine? Ah interesting thanks - that's one make I haven't tried, but I am a bit hesitant if they don't do up at the front as I can't be dealing with the bending over faff and reaching underneath. Still maybe worth a go though.
  15. Brilliant - I wonder how many people have done this?
  16. "Near useless" is a good description. I also tried 'Tena for men' probably this time last year as I wanted to feel "something" down there. One night after a couple of drinks after work, I was on the train home, decided to let out a bit to ease my bladder as I thought they would be better than they were. Big mistake, my jeans were soaked at the top before I knew it. Cue shuffle into a cab with my laptop bag over my crotch and scrumpled up jeans when I got home. Luckily I was working from home the next day and did all the washing
  17. You know it'll be absolutely shit! But I remain intrigued and expect a film review. No, I'm not staying up to watch it ...
  18. @Little Sherri Out of interest, what make of body suit vests (onesies as you say) do you buy? I've tried a couple of makes and the only one I really like are the Tykables ones as they fasten up nearer the front than underneath, which makes them easier to do up. I'm 6" exactly and buy the XL. But I've tried L and XL in a few other makes and they're way too small. I think I have a long torso and short legs, so it's a struggle. I tried the ABU one last week, XL in 'tall', but it basically did up nearer my knees than my nappy, so I'm utterly at a loss. There must be some consistent sizing out there. Not sure if I said this already, but my wife was moaning she was cold and I said "I've got one of these that's too small if you want it" whilst tugging at my vest. She said back "no, I'm not a baby" and walked off. I did offer!! I've also worn pink nappies. The outrageously pink ones that Littleforbig do and Tykables Unicorns (profile pic) and not an eyelid batted. As far as my wife is concerned a nappy is a nappy, doesn't matter what colour it is. Although she did have a moan about my cuddlz plastic pants that have the pink cloth covering on the outside with penguins. I did mutter about it being all I could find (during the first lockdown when everything was sold out everywhere) and it was left alone. I am getting more "daring" though. In our last online shopping order I did add in Bepanthen Nappy Care ointment. It was unpacked and placed upstairs, no moaning or questions asked.
  19. It's an odd one. I'd love to chuck all my boxers out ... I now have a drawer full of bodysuit vests and my wife when putting away the washing, never has to open my boxer drawer, but will open my bodysuit vest drawer and put them away. Nothing is said. Maybe that's the best way!?
  20. My wife has told me both; 1) that I smell and to go shower and change and 2) that I smell really nice and fresh when I came down freshly powdered. I think the former time, I'd been sat in the same nappy for too long and I must admit even I could start to smell something wasn't right. Although surprisingly, when we've had 'intimate' times and I've stripped off, even I can smell it but nothing is said - we have our fun - then I put everything back on and carry on as normal. Although my sense of smell is considerably better!?
  21. Absolutely! Since being at home full time and on calls literally 9am to 6pm EVERY day, forcing myself to have a short break to get lunch, I can't imagine not wearing a nappy. Sometimes mid afternoon it's getting a bit full and (I think I've said this), but I've found myself moving out a meeting by 5-10 mins just to allow a quick change. My wife even brings me cups of tea during the day if she's at home - I do feel properly lazy and definitely not looking forward to going back to the office. On the subject of cost, we never discuss that and when I did an outgoings spreadsheet the other weekend as we wanted to explore finances, my column marked "healthcare" was hidden ... it was better that way.
  22. Absolutely - I think it always has been way beyond that for me and I do equate it to wanting to dress up women's clothing. Back in 1999 we had a guy at work who announced he'd be coming in on Monday no longer as Jim (name changed) but as Jill (er, name changed). And on Monday, he appeared dressed as Jill and everyone then used Jill as the name. I always had some kind of envy with that. But I've never been able to get my head around how to deal with what I want to wear and normal life, especially as most people don't understand the need to wear at night vs the desire to wear all the time .... and I can't explain it, sigh. i think you're right though, I'm overthinking, I don't think anyone will be crotch gazing as it'll be avoiding high fives, checking out everyone's "hilarious" looking masks, sanitising, coughing into elbows and meeting all the new hires we've made over the last year. I think I'll be fine if I find a thinner nappy I feel happy with as I sit around all day in Tykables at the moment which are FAR from discreet.
  23. Good thread. I'm just not sure when we go "back to normal" that a) I want to wear boxer shorts again and b) whether I could get away with wearing nappies. Since the first lockdown, in fact no, since before the first lockdown as I started working from home full time very early in March, I've worn nappies near 24/7 and I absolutely love it. However my normal office attire is a shirt and smart, but tight Levis. I just don't see how I can rock up back at an office, even for 2 days a week in anything other than what I wore before. Maybe I should change jobs .... but it's causing me stress well ahead of time and I honestly don't know how to handle it and what to do with it. Sometimes I wish I preferred something simple like wearing women's underwear ... hey ho!
