  1. A wonderful dream, being 100% self-reliant! To an extent I admire, and am a little envious of those that achieve it, and the Amish. I've done a bit of looking into and research on how to live off the land (living in suburbia, it's a bit more challenging), and a modern comfortable lifestyle while being more or less self-reliant is possible. A lot goes into it, and many people that have blogs and/or vlogs/YouTube channels are self admittedly not 100% off grid or self-sufficient, and don't want to be. However some are 100%. But it sounds your wife wants a partial off grid lifestyle, and in these uncertain and crazy times, I can totally understand why. But perhaps for your wife it's simply a fantasy seen through rose-colored glasses. I suggest doing copious amounts of research on the topic. Research until you're sick of it and then do more research! There are methods and techniques to lengthen the growing season, store the harvest with little wasted, which and how many animals to have, meat preservation, canning, natural medicine remedies, etc etc. Blended with modern tech (solar panels, small hydroelectric generators, batteries, methane collection, etc etc) I feel it's much easier now to get off the grid than ever, relatively speaking, of course. But (and a rather big one), there is a LOT of work to do! And nearly constant work. All depends how independent you wish to go. Good luck! 🙂
  2. Got them with FSA for the last few years, so probably some stuff from them that I could either use or sell later. Now I don't have FSA anymore, and coming directly from my pocket, I'd probably be saving up for new PC, or other projects, or most likely credit card debt (yay responsibilities!)
  3. Probably too much lol but I really don't know. I squeeze an amount approximately the same size or a little smaller than a cheeto cheese curl/puff/thing. I rub it between my hands to warm and thin it out (calmoseptine is pretty thick stuff, and just that little bit of friction heat softens it). I coat the front, between the cheeks, the cheeks themselves and lastly my hips with whatever is left on my hands. A nice coat of powder to remove the stickiness, and it's diaper time! Haven't had a rash yet!! 😁
  4. My friend's bathroom! Lol working on a toilet, of all things! It was after college, and I moved back home. On a rare day home alone, I decided it would be a great day to diaper up. So I do! I put on a Tena (or something similar, all I could get at the time) and lay back to relax for the next several hours. An hour or so in, I get a text from my friend saying he needs some help with removing a toilet. One of the bolts on the floor was rusted and he didn't know what to do or something. After trying to get him to find some tool to do it himself (unsuccessfully) I surrendered and said I'd swing by and help. But instead of changing out, I just put on my clothes, grab my tools and head over! I get there, assess the situation, get in position laying on the bathroom floor, cut the troublesome bolt, help him heft the thing out, and head back home to enjoy what was left of my alone time! I don't believe he saw/noticed anything, but I'm not going to try and find out lol!
  5. With wetting, it's usually relief followed by feelings of happiness, warmth (not from that lol), and a sort of realization or reconfirmation of how much I enjoy diapers and being diapered. With messing, it's relief again, but soon followed by a realization of "damnit, I'm going to have to clean this up soon!"
  6. @DailyDi: I'M DAVID PUMPKINS!! ANY QUESTIONS!?
  7. For me, it's only a chore when it's late, I'm exhausted and just want to go to bed. Or when I'm cleaning up a mess. Other than that, I enjoy diapering up and changing. It's part of the therapy that are diapers. Getting everything ready to go- the fluffing and prep of the diaper, the application of cream then powder, then getting everything taped up, secure and comfy and getting on with my day. It's a rather zen and relaxing experience for me, that ritual of diapering, a brief moment of mild chaos (powder gets EVERYWHERE!!! My changing room is covered in a layer of cornstarch lol) preceding a lengthy period of calm, happiness and ultimate comfort.
  8. This is a thought that comes and goes. Some days my mind is all about wanting incontinence, and other days, it's the furthest thing from it. I know that incontinence is a massive understaking, with several hurdles, challenge, and stigmas to overcome, a large change in lifestyle, as well as the financial burden of diapers and all else needed... until insurance kicks in somewhere along the line. But I still can't seem to shake the occasional desire to become diaper dependant. However, at the end of it all, I keep coming back to I do not want diaper dependence, I just want to enjoy diapers whenever I want to.
  9. I definitely have to agree with this thought! I often find myself in a bit of a thought loop when wanting to wear. Basically, something along the lines of: I have diapers to wear now, but if I wear now, will I have diapers to wear later? When I had a larger stash I found myself thinking of this less and less. But with a smaller inventory, that thought creeps through time and time again.
  10. I've just been buying from FSA approved sites for the last few years. Llmedico, Northshore, and Vitality Medical have been my favorites for a while now. Other places I've bought from, will buy from again and want to buy from are cooshietooshes/rearz, tykables, Totaldry, Etsy, Dotty Diaper Co, Little for Big, and a few others that escape me right now
  11. I honestly think that 10,000ml is pretty much as high as diaper capacity should get. Any much more, and it's waste of materials and money. 1000ml is a liter, which is basically a quart (I know it's different), so a 10,000ml diaper holds approximately 10 quarts, or 2.5 gallons of liquid!! Of course that number is actually lower than that, but that is still alot of wee!! An average person produces up to 2qts/L of urine a day. I think that average person, consuming slightly more liquid than they need for proper hydration, needs to wear this diaper for many days to fill it up! Honestly, I think the so-called arms race is over at the 10,000ml mark. Now, as they play a bit of catch-up for capacity, it's time for manufacturers to concentrate on other diaper aspects. Including tapes (number of, ways of sticking, adjustability, etc) , pH control for skin health, leg gathers, outer shell material/colors/prints/strength/texture, inner liner material and softness, improved moisture wicking, odor control (peeing for 20+ hours is going to smell awful), and over all comfort and fit. Will there be a demand for an even bigger higher capacity diaper? Probably, and some manufacturer will make it, and many people will buy them! But I feel now "smaller" capacity diapers will begin to improve in other ways that will make them more attractive and better performing, other than just being able to hold over 2 gallons of pee! I think the future for our diapers is bright!
  12. My recycle bin? Nope! My trash bin? Maybe! Generally I put all the cardboard in a big, flattened stack either tied, taped or stuffed into another box. The only box I have ever gotten that was remotely diaper telling are the abena boxes. They have large bold markings on the sides that to the trained eye are kinda obvious. When I got them in, I was a little concerned, but then again, I wasn't expecting company anytime soon, so it wasn't too bad. Also they were inside the porch, so they were hard to see clearly from the sidewalk and road. When I get to toss those boxes, I'll probably turn them inside-out and stuff them in the middle of the stack, just to be certain! My trash bin, might give me away sometimes. After a good, long, diapered weekend, my trash is kinda.... bulge-y? lol I bag each used diaper, then stuff them into a larger bag, tie it off, and them stuff that into a larger bag that gets tied up and then goes to the curb. What results is a funny, heavy, lumpy trash bag lol I'm sure the trashmen (they are men, I've seen them!! lol) have seen just about everything being thrown out, and even if they haven't I don't think they take notice and think "Got another lumpy diaper trash bag!" lol But it's still something to think about. I do worry sometimes if the skunks/racoons were to tear into the bags for some reason, the diapers would be exposed! But I don't think those critters would snoop around for stinky week+ old diapers.... but you never know....
  13. a few years ago i had to get my wisdom teeth out. it sucked, but it wasn't as bad it i though it would be. still would not recommend... unless you have to get them removed, like i did. they were causing me pain and discomfort, so they had to go!
  14. i'm pretty simple with it #1 - wet, peed, piddled #2- poop, mess
  15. love in brief is a really good one. they dive deep into the topics and seem to have fun with their guests and such. resonantyes and roadnottaken did split up, which is sad, but they want to remain amicable for at least the show's sake. she's been absent for a show or two, but i'm not up to the most recent. dream a little is a fun one, too. the hostess, lo, is nice to listen to, and has good topics. but she's went to a patreon account for her podcast.
  16. honestly, i've come close to hugging my diapers several times. now i know others do too, maybe i will hug them next time as babyjune said, they hug me enough
  17. that's the curse/scourge called humidity! out west humidity isn't a big thing, but in the south and east coast at least (i havent been to the west coast, so i don't really know) humidity reigns with a cruel fist! it can be 75* outside and if it's humid you seriously reconsider going anywhere, including work! ...God, i hate humidity...
  18. hear-hear!! i live in an old house, so i have to use window units. we have 3 going right now - a big 12K+ to cool the first floor, a 8k for the bedroom that we keep around 68* at night (70-72 or warmer when we're not at home), and an old 5K for the guest room we keep at a steady 73*. we have a fourth one for the last room, but we haven't put it in yet. the three in tandem help keep the upstairs cool. eventually we need/want to replace the last two old ones that came with the house, and get one or two more, depending on what we want to do with the rest of the house.
  19. my g/f nearly caught me when we were first dating. drawn out story short- she was unaware of my diapers but i was planning to tell her. i was diapered in bed one saturday morning (still living at my mom's house) and she came by that day after work (3rd shift). usually she chatted with mom a bit and then comes up for some snuggles, and that day was no exception! she came up, climbed into bed and we snuggle. luckily, she didn't notice my wet diaper, as i had shorts on and was wrapped up in blankets. we snuggle, i'm trying to figure how to get her out of my room without her knowing about my diaper, i know i want to tell her about my diapers, but laying there in a wet one is not the proper way! lol i manage to get her to get some laundry from downstairs. as soon as i hear her starting down the stairs, i hop out of bed, rip off and stash away my wet diaper and zip off to the shower in record time!! a week or two later, i told her about my diapers (which she happily accepted! yay!) and after a bit she said something akin to: "wait! were you diapered last time?! i thought something was off!!" ?
  20. bottom right, bottom left, A, B, START, top right, top left, B, A, SELECT, START in the menu screen gets you unlimited ammo, i forget what the code for god mode is lol!!
  21. multiple ways, honestly. i check the bulge, front and back, feel how squishy the diaper is (usually the squishier it is, the closer changing time is), the sag and heft as i get up and walk around, of course leaking (which hasn't happened in a long time **knock on wood** and i hate it when it happens), and how far apart my legs are pushed lol
  22. not really itchy, that wasn't really it. just uncomfortable, i guess. just an odd feeling, the bristly stubble, catching here and there, i wish i could do better describing it. but it wasn't my bag (no pun intended )
  23. i concur with my fellow DLs, i do not shave my body hair, either. but i do like to keep it trimmed. shaving down there does feel and look nice, but i find it too much to keep up with. plus when it grows back it kinda sucks lol
