  1. I don't know if there were any of these camps around when I was young. I was sent to summer sports camp for two weeks every summer for three years. There was a "special needs" cabin that all the other campers called the "bedwetters cabin" and I was in that cabin for the first two years. My recollection is that there were always a couple campers in the regular cabins who had accidents each year including me the last year I was at camp.
  2. I was lucky because I had an older brother who was a worse bedwetter than me. Having an "accident" every few weeks to keep the rubber sheet on the bed was nothing compared to my brother who wet much more frequently and always by accident. We had to do our own laundry once we were in high school so I think that made it better too because we mainly got in trouble if we didnt clean up. We were asked every morning though whether we were wet or dry and would get in trouble if we lied or tried to hide it.
  3. The switch is pretty bad. I got it when I had to stay at a great uncles farm after I got into trouble one summer in high school. It was worse than the hairbrush or the belt that I sometimes got at home.
  4. Different things turn different people on. I'm bi but now mainly view myself as asexual. My fetishes always aroused me more than standard sex which I did mainly to keep relationship going when I was younger. I'm older now and dont need other people to get me aroused.
  5. I starting wetting the bed again in my 40s after being dry for several years and it was mainly because of alcohol. I learned my lesson when I was younger when a gf relegated me to sleeping on a cot for my bedwetting. Her attitude was that if I was going to do it I couldnt sleep in bed with her. Now I'm old and have been slept alone for more than 10 years so its not a big deal one way or the other.
  6. Yup. My mother used to keep a bedwetting chart for my brother and me. I did have "accidents on purpose" after puberty but mainly to keep the rubber sheet on my bed. My mother thought that setting an incentive for removing it after so many "dry" weeks would stop the bedwetting. It didn't work out that way for me because I wanted to keep it.
  7. Not sure which will be recommended. At this point I suspect it will be intermittent. Im a bit afraid of having to use a catheter. Do they show you how to use one and can you do it yourself? Or does it need to be done by a medical person? Also, if the catheter is indwelling is the external part difficult to wear, clean and manage?
  8. Because of a neurogenic bladder I might have to start using a catheter. Is it difficult to use one and are there some options that are better than others? Is it embarrassing and does it cause other problems like leakage?
  9. Thats about the same for me. I keep a couple spare bed changes so I don't have to do laundry right away after accidentally peeing the bed. I have to use a coin laundry machine in the basement of my building so I have to save money when I can.
  10. When I was growing up my mother always used a heavy ivory colored rubber sheet for my bedwetting. I dont know if they are available anymore. Over the years since I lived on my own I just got used to buying vinyl fitted mattress covers. They're easy to get and relatively inexpensive but they do eventually dry, crack and leak and have to be replaced. Also, I actually prefer the feel of a rubber sheet but maybe thats just nostalgic on my part.
  11. We didn't have disposable products when I was young. I had a couple accidents at elementary school and had to wear training pants that back then were thick underpants under plastic pants. I got teased for wetting for sure.
  12. I think as you get older its easier to talk to doctors about this because its not an unusual problem. One of my younger doctors asked me about it before I raised it with him. But I remember going to an older doctor in my 20s after my then gf got tired of the my bedwetting and told me to get help. I had never seen the doctor before and when I gingerly told him I had this issue he was surprisingly understanding. I told him I was embarassed by the whole subject and he said that it took 30 seconds for my bladder to empty at night and that there was nothing to be ashamed about. I was drinking a lot back then and he told me that if I wanted to stop wetting it would be a good start to stop drinking which I did and it did help with the bedwetting. But then shortly afterwards I found out my gf was cheating on me so we broke up and I was right back to my old habits.
  13. I wonder if anybody on here ever had this experience? I had a dye injected during a medical scan procedure a couple years ago and ended up with wet underwear. The technician told me that Id feel like I had to pee really bad after he put the IV needle in my arm. "But don't go he said." Easy for him to say but boy did I ever have to go and when I was getting up to dress afterwards I realized I had gone a bit. I hadnt worn a pullup that day because I worried I'd get embarassed but in the future if I have to get such a procedure done again I dont think I'll worry about that.
  14. I agree with you. I think that it was more common to punish or shame (which is mainly what my parent did) for masterbation a couple generations ago. Maybe thats why a wet bed wasnt always a bad thing. Who knew what else it was hiding?
  15. I grew up in the era before disposable products so all the time back then. My mom just put a rubber sheet and absorbing pad on the bed. Later when I was living on my own and after ruining a mattress I learned the expensive way to be more careful and started using various methods to deal with it. I was mainly dry at night from my mid-20s to mid-40s after I stopped drinking but bad habits (drinking and bedwetting) returned after that. I guess that because Ive been single since then its not such a big deal.
  16. Probably only after they had the experience that there really was or is no place to go. And its much worse for women I suspect as they don't have the same options guys have.
  17. Your just a bit younger than me so did they have disposable "products" when you were young? I cant remember them at all. I used to get threatened with being sent to school in diapers as well which would have meant big bulky cloth diapers under plastic or rubber pants. I used to protest the idea of it. If we had the products that are available now I probably would have enjoyed wearing them especially because I was a pants wetter.
  18. Thats an an interesting term. I wonder whether those who wet the bed into puberty or beyond were or are more likely to develop this as a fetish?
  19. I never wake up during the night if I pee the bed in my sleep. I never have.
  20. When I was in my teens, 20s and 30s I don't think I could ever go a week without ejaculating. I find male chastity devices interesting though. Do you use the cage style device? Ive seen them online and they fascinate me. If I used one when I was younger I might have had a relationship that lasted. I go both ways and had a few partners over the years who probably would have recommended a chastity device if they knew that was an option.
  21. The products are pretty good these days. The only thing is that for guys you cant easily use urinals when your out. I try to find a stall so I can use the bathroom when Im out and dont want to wet myself. I have pulled down a pullout a couple times at the urinal at my local bar because there is only one stall and its sometimes not available. It draws stares if somebody notices. Being older is a good excuse these days I guess.
  22. Good question. I now store my implements in the bottom drawer of an old dresser in my closet under my diapers. But I sometimes wonder what will happen if I ever have to go to hospital and somebody has to clean out my place. What will they think? Growing up the spanking 'hairbrush' was hung on a nail in the laundry room beside the 'spanking chair' and we all understood what it was there for. And in my teens dad had 'the belt' which was really a strap hung on the side wall in his workshop. He hardly ever used it but we all knew why it was there. But Im not sure what anybody would think about what I call 'recreational' spanking if they came up my collection of paddles, straps and other implements. I sometimes think of getting rid of them because I hardly have the opportunity to use them anymore but I guess Im too emotionally attached.
  23. I wet deliberately in my teens too so I could keep the rubber sheet on my bed. My mothers rule was that after six months of dry nights the rubber sheet would be removed. She saw that as an incentive but I didn't want it removed. I ended up keeping the rubber sheet on my bed until I was 17 and that was about a year before I moved away from home to my own place. During my last few years living at home I had to do my own laundry but that wasnt a huge price to pay.
  24. Drinking alcohol changes your sleep patterns and also decreases your anti-diuretic hormone production. Not sleeping well and producing more pee is a recipe for bedwetting.
  25. Not sure why your family or work mates would find out? Usually medical information is confidential under privacy laws. And I think these days emergency staff and hospitals are used to seeing patients who are wearing incontinence products.
