  1. Having an AB/DL-specific wiki would permit greater depth and detail. However, your wife does have a point: Our wiki will never be THE wiki. Non-AB/DLs will still be getting their information from Wikipedia, and maybe using our wiki to fill in details not covered in "the real Wikipedia." The "about us section" is actually pretty good for a one-page summary. It has a tight structure that wouldn't have resulted from a series of small adjustments. Of course, an orchestrated team can outperform any single author. However, I don't know how many editors it would take to form those teams. This would be a per-article value, of course. If the editor base is below some critical size relative to the number of articles, the wiki won't succeed. As populations grow, more communities will be able to field enough editors, organizers, leaders, etc. to make wikis work. The larger communities, such as transvestism and sadomasochism, might reach the necessary populations first. This suggests that the leading source of AB/DL information might be a wiki some day. Maybe here and now are the right place and time to start it. An intermediate step to consider might be for more Dailydiapers readers to get involved with Wikipedia. Please be clear that this is a proposal, not a recommendation. On one hand, it is a ready training ground for those seeking to try a wiki out, and it is viewed as "the real Wikipedia." On the other hand, it could discourage potential editors or diffuse our resources across multiple wikis. In particular, the article linked above (actually the paraphilic infantilism article) has sucked up a lot of my life.
  2. We could probably learn some valuable lessons from ADISC's disbanded wiki. It never really developed a culture as a wiki, with most articles having few contributors. There wasn't a sense of contributing to something great, so that it did not become great. One suggestion I made there was to invite other forums, such as DailyDiapers, to become involved. This might have increased the editor base, but it would have sacrificed the hope of carrying over the ADISC culture (at least until the wiki developed its own culture.) This culture is important, since there are many details we can't set up outside of the wiki. These include the division of topics, the development of consensus, and the selection of a conservative or liberal handling of certainty/significance. If these hurdles can be overcome, the Dailydiapers wiki might hope to one day be a less recognized, less general, less visible version of Wikipedia. Our wiki might easily be more trustworthy, but it will be less trusted outside of our community. (As a side note, we should consider a license that is not compatible with Wikipedia. So far two rounds of people have discussed taking what they wanted from my website and posting it to Wikipedia. Their intention was to neutralize my voice so that they could better use Wikipedia to promote their interests.) When I try to express why I enjoy My Little Pony so much, the shortest answer is that it is the antithesis of Wikipedia in many ways. MLP might seem commercial and superficial initially, but has a depth, an altruism, and a cuteness within. Wikipedia does not.
  3. To go off on a much less appealing tangent, there is a vital step that often gets overlooked. This would be to follow through with your decision to spend the rest of your life in diapers by rearranging your life so that it can be spent in diapers. This won't be one big change, but lots of little ones. For example, move some changing supplies to the bathroom. Diapering in your bedroom after the morning shower creates a risk of puddles in the hallway. Reconfigure your life, minute by minute, around a reality of being incontinent. Start to live your life around that reality. Hypnosis might help. Behavioral methods might help. Both will take time. This implementation step can be started immediately, and will have at least one immediate effect: You'll be living the incontinent lifestyle. This is a perk, since the sooner you start living the incontinent lifestyle, the sooner you'll know if it isn't for you. Since restoring atrophied muscles and undoing hypnosis might be difficult at best, this is something you want to find out early.
  4. On the plus side about not being so new, it can be watched on youtube: ..and you can read the behind-the-scenes account of everything that wasn't shown: (just the TV show) http://www.bedwettingabdl.com/FilmingNationalGeographic.html (plus the fallout after) http://www.bedwettingabdl.com/About_Taboo_And_Senator_Coburn.html

    Relationships

To clarify, of the friends that I've been open with, only the non-heterosexual friends consider me "straight." I'm a paraphilic infantilist, not straight. Having a "heterosexual" option might have worked better. For completeness, there should be another option to the question about whether our spouses new, since not all of us have had spouses. I guess it could be argued that the non-spouse was without a lack of knowledge, and so in that sense, knew...
  6. I'm pleased to announce the fourth and final survey in the series, "Odds and Ends" Thanks again to all those who participated in previous surveys and helped to make them so successful. The summary results from the previous survey are online. Here are some highlights: Q12) Regarding a specific character in our favorite AB/DL picture/story/video/etc., 24% of us would like to be with that character (be together with him or her, giving care to or receiving care from him or her, etc.), and 47% of us would like to be the character (replace him or her in that situation, costume, body, etc.). Q17) 39% of us are willing to play a role that isn't our preferred role, such as being a caregiver when we'd prefer to be a toddler. Q22) 1% of us have been changed by someone else but don't enjoy being changed by someone else. Q38 & Q39) To try to loose bladder control, 29% have tried hypnosis and 35% have tried untraining. It worked satisfactorily for 2% and 7% of us, respectively. Q45) 3% of us have partners that we've decided to tell about our interests - but haven't yet. More detailed analysis is to come.
  7. Thanks to all who have helped to make Understanding.Infantilism.Org's third survey a success. This survey, "AB/DL Practices," has gotten over a thousand responses so far. If you haven't participated, there is still about a week to do so. After that, I'll put up the next survey and get started summarizing the results.
  8. My condolences to Rihanna, willnotwill, and Bettypooh for their losses. Found it: Idea: Life Goes On Without Me I didn't think of "burn boxes" as a possibility. I suppose they would work better in areas where big fires were more common. They wouldn't work well for apartments and houses without big yards or fireplaces. Having a 'throw away, far away, box' would work better in areas too populous for burn boxes, but would run the risk of getting found and traced back to the source in small towns. Sharing your name with a few trusted DD friends might work better, since they are the ones who will miss you and be willing to search through the obituaries. Experience has shown that not all AB/DLs are trustworthy. True. Thanks for putting some thought into it! Instructions like that are actually quite useful. One issue that the next of kin might face is what to throw away, what to give away, and what to sell. For example, they might have difficulty with an improvised adult crib that might cost tens-of-thousands to replace with a hospital-grade unit, but won't actually sell for more than it costs to ship to the buyer. I like how that is worded: It gives instructions and provides access without mentioning too much in the will- which might be read by others.
  9. Toddlerjunior, that updates page threw me off too. The article "Pictures from the filming of a episode of Taboo from National Geographic" is already up.
  10. Thanks for this important reminder.
  11. A fellow Bay aRea Diaper Enthusiasts (BRiDgE) member asked a few questions a while back that got me thinking. How many of us have made AB/DL-specific plans for after we die? Younger AB/DLs might have a few items that they don't want their family to ever know about. Older AB/DLs might have a furnished nursery that the widow won't know what to do with, much less be able to move herself. One minimal option would be a 'stash letter' stored with your things. This way, when an executor/next of kin/etc. finds them, they be able to read the letter and find out from you, albeit posthumously. This would be slightly better than leaving them to wonder and wade through whatever Bing decides to show them. It would replace learning in a bad way at the worst time, with learning in a not-so-bad way at the worst time. Still not good. Coming out to the family and/or neighbors now would be one option. Of course, if you haven't already, there is probably a reason why you haven't. Another might be to have a designated kink-aware 'cleaning crew.' This option might be as simple as having a few members of the local AB/DL club ready in case the widow needs help moving something discretely. However, it also might be as complicated as a secret crew that 1) somehow knows before the next of kin 2) has physical and legal access to clear away specific items discretely, and 3) is trusted to execute all this without robbing you blind. Have you researched exit strategies for yourself? Have you heard about the aftermath of another AB/DL's passing? Have you served on a 'cleaning crew?' If so, what advice would you give others? Now if only we could take it all with us...
  12. So there are multiple branches of law enforcement teaming up to protect us from footies and cartoons, but who is going to protect us from the fuzz who presume one guilty-until-proven-innocent and reporters who insinuate because it draws more readers than actual research? On the subject of drawing readers, please be aware that Google will count each of the links above as votes of support for that article.
  13. In this age were 3D movies are almost watchable, why settle for 1D food? Hamburgers - they're condimentacious!
  14. He probably just needs some retraining. I've had the same problem myself, and there are a number of tricks he can use to get things started, some of which have already been mentioned. The simplest include dampening the diaper slightly with warm water, trying a different position (such as sitting or standing), or moving to a different location (such as the bathroom). Drinking a little more water might help too, but he shouldn't let the pressure build until it hurts. There are more elaborate tricks to consider if these don't work. Once he can wet under some conditions, practice will make other conditions easier. You can read more about this at Overcoming Shy/Overtrained Bladders When laying down and used to wetting in the down position, yes. However, there are exceptions. In this case, he'll probably have an easier time wetting in the "up" position, so that would be the position to start with. The risk of leaking out near the belly button can be reduced by placing a doubler horizontally along the waistline, folding the diaper front under to make a pocket, etc. More detail on up or down is available, but the only generalization that didn't have exceptions was that cloth was less sensitive to penis position. It is ironic that something so handy for going in the woods is so annoying when going in a diaper. By the way, while looking into the problem, I came across a rumor that those used to ejaculating when diapered and in the down position don't develop an erection (or not as much of one) even when not diapered. Not sure how accurate the rumor is.
  15. Hello and welcome! Be sure to look around and meet the other cubs here. Just don't let the non-babyfurs know that the babyfurs secretly run everything (and we're cuter too.)
  16. Public soiling at cons has long been discouraged by the Babyfur public behavior guidelines. Even at cons where the local babyfur community hasn't adopted these guidelines, not soiling is often one of the ad-hoc rules. Anti-babyfur mythology continues, of course.
  17. Sarah_AB, thanks for the heads-up. One last detail before I consider ordering: Does a country of origin of "USA and/or Imported" mean China?
  18. They've been doing some work on their system, and there is a new note in the header. "Administrator notice: Account registration has re-opened." Maybe it is worth a second try.
  19. Furrafinity doesn't seem to have a good way to search for other users. You can (usually) search for content, though. http://www.furaffinity.net/user/bittergrey/
  20. I've done some thinking, experimenting, and leaking over this question. Here's what I came up with. To summarize, up for day, down for night is generally best for active adults. There are exceptions. For example, the more comfortable position might result in more frequent wetting, smaller wettings, and less to absorb suddenly each time, so the 'wrong' position might result in less leaking.
  21. According to results of the Second AB/DL survey, the AB/DL community is about 12% homosexual, and 6% homosexual-leaning bi. True. Another factor is that heterosexuals might be more likely to have families, and less likely to have much time to spend online. Some furry forums, such as furrymuck or secondlife, can take up much more time than some AB/DL forums, such as dailydiapers.
  22. First off, I'd like to thank you for being open minded. Telling you what he told you took a lot of courage, and it is great that you are thinking and talking things through. Diaper fetishes are rare, certainly not the sort of thing a girlfriend would be expecting in a relationship. Having questions is OK - it is great that you are asking them. Having reservations is OK - it is great that you are thinking them through. Now, regarding your questions. Would you like general information on diaper fetishes, or answers to specific questions?
  23. It sounds like disposablility is the key factor here, in which case I'd suggest toys-r-us or babies-r-us. They might not be big, but they would be cheap and easily available. Functional, oversized nursers are available through hay and feed stores. These nursers are designed for livestock, so the nipples aren't shaped like human nipples. This might be a problem for some AB/DLs. As multiple other posters have pointed out, ordering something specialized doesn't make sense, unless you were hoping to promote the source.

    East Bay

OK. Who would be interested in a trip to, for example, the Oakland Zoo? I tried organizing one a while ago, but wasn't able to find a local co-conspirator.
