What languages do you know / speak etc?

I grew up with English and I learnt Afrikaans at school. But in 2011 I started learning Portugues (Brazilian) and now consider it my second language.

Spanish and some German, at least in written form. I have difficulty understanding the spoken form of either language. Spanish speakers tend to run their words together and even omit whole syllables (Cubans and Puerto Ricans especially). It's frustrating, because I'd love to be able to watch the telenovelas on Univision, but trying to follow them is just hopeless.
