Of course Daily Di=Mike could have been watching a DVD of "The Wizard of Oz" a couple of weeks ago while diapered. Or, he could have been a child seeing one of many re-releases.

I remember when I was just a kid the wizard of oz was a yearly event on broadcast TV this was in the late 50's, at that time I was probably made ready for bed before watching the wizard.

I've never seen the whole movie but I remember as a little kid that those flying monkeys scared the ever living crap out of me!

I didn't like the flying monkey's either. I had the story book pop up version of the Wizard of Oz when I was a little kid. I also have relatives who are from Kansas so I thought it was really cool that Dorothy was from there.

While I wasn't a big Pot-head as a kid, I did try it once in a blue moon. I had a month till I joined the Marines, went with a friend over to his "source". There was a little kid maybe 5 or 6 sitting on the floor watching TV. I sat on the couch and waited for them to do the deal in the other room. Next thing I know The wizard of Oz was getting ready to come on. The child was all excited.

Yes, i was talking about the first time i saw it as a little kid on TV.

As Angela said, the Judy Garland version was made in 1939 - along with the other great movie that year, Gone With The Wind.
