  4. I heard about one company in the news that sends their employees out of the country to Costa Rica for surgeries that here in the states would cost 3 or 5 times what it does over there. They even give their employees $2,500 for doing so and the employees also pay nothing out of their own pocket.
  5. Thanks Square Duck. I named him Tribble because he only has three legs. My husband and I wanted a name with "Tri" in it because we didn't want to call him Tripod. It seemed a little mean. He was hit by a car before we adopted him and his hind leg had to be amputated. He is my little escape artist and we have to watch him like a hawk. He doesn't know that he is strictly an indoor kitty now.
  6. Here is my kitty Phoenix. She can pose at times as well.

  9. I can only imagine. I make about what you are getting right now, but with short term disability it bites the big one. I only get 50% of my base pay, but I am able to work part-time which has been a Godsend. That helps a little bit. I am also so thankful that I have a spouse who is working, because I don't know what I would do if I didn't.
  10. That is awesome that they finally gave you what you deserved.
  11. I am sorry to hear that. Cancer is a very scary thing, and I hope that they caught yours early and treatments will go easy for you. So far after round one of treatments, I still have my hair. But I am told that it won't last for long and I have 5 more to go. As far as the treatments are concerned, they have advanced greatly in the last five years so I have been told.
  12. Thanks all...I very much appreciate it.
  13. Well, I know that it has been a while since I have posted anything. There is a very good reason for that and that my first surgery didn't go as great as I had hoped. It turns out that I have Cancer and I am now undergoing treatment and had a second surgery to remove everything that was cancerous. The good news if you can say that there is good news that it is not life threatening for me because it was caught early. I still have to undergo Chemo, but it is a precautionary measure. So, I may not feel like writing for a while and I just wanted to give you the heads up that I haven't fallen off the face of the earth. FB
  14. Thanks, Billiardnut. I appreciate the well wishes.
  15. I know that but my discharge instructions say not to take it and drive. Plus, it was making me a bit drowsy. I am much better with Tylenol anyway.
  16. Thanks Square Duck and it is OK really. I am just glad that I still have a chance to have kids of my own. I finally stopped taking the hard stuff the third day that I was recuperating. Now, I am only taking the Ibuprofen 800mg and was told that I can't drive while taking those. I am pretty much going to be taking Tylenol OTC from here on out since I will need to drive to get to work on Monday.
  17. Happy birthday! Wishing you many more.
  18. I couldn't wear cloth as I was allergic to the stuff they used to clean them as my parent's did have a diaper service for me. I instead was put in Pampers, but I had plastic panties over them as I tended to be a heavy wetter.
  19. Kidlets are still in the future. My husband and I are going to do foster care to adopt besides actually trying for one of our own. Actually Square Duck, I made an error about the surgery, I only had one tube and ovary removed and not the whole thing....so much for typing and taking prescribed narcotics at the same time. It was still laproscopic though. I just cut and pasted the laproscopic, but when I googled the spelling hysterectomy came up and I thought it sounded like the right thing. I will be so glad when the fogginess has subsided and I can be back to my normal self.
