In the mid to late 60s, I remember going to Kip's Big Boy form time to time. Occasionally, my mother would get burgers at Quick's (McDonald's was too far away, if you can imagine that). As the oil business improved from the late 60s to the early 70s (thanks to OPEC), we could afford to eat at steak houses. My favorite was an old speak-easy outside of town that had a large salad bar with lots of salad dressings. There was another that would make Caesar Salad at your table I liked a lot. My father traveled a lot for work and I remember eating at Trader Vic's in St Louis and Denver as well as a Polynesian restaurant in Denver called Tommy Wong’s (my dad had a penchant for drinking Mai Tai).
