24/7 startups, and unexpected pitfalls?
BedWetMark replied to Little Sherri's topic in Diaper Lovers
@Little Sherri Out of interest, what make of body suit vests (onesies as you say) do you buy? I've tried a couple of makes and the only one I really like are the Tykables ones as they fasten up nearer the front than underneath, which makes them easier to do up. I'm 6" exactly and buy the XL. But I've tried L and XL in a few other makes and they're way too small. I think I have a long torso and short legs, so it's a struggle. I tried the ABU one last week, XL in 'tall', but it basically did up nearer my knees than my nappy, so I'm utterly at a loss. There must be some consistent sizing out there. Not sure if I said this already, but my wife was moaning she was cold and I said "I've got one of these that's too small if you want it" whilst tugging at my vest. She said back "no, I'm not a baby" and walked off. I did offer!! I've also worn pink nappies. The outrageously pink ones that Littleforbig do and Tykables Unicorns (profile pic) and not an eyelid batted. As far as my wife is concerned a nappy is a nappy, doesn't matter what colour it is. Although she did have a moan about my cuddlz plastic pants that have the pink cloth covering on the outside with penguins. I did mutter about it being all I could find (during the first lockdown when everything was sold out everywhere) and it was left alone. I am getting more "daring" though. In our last online shopping order I did add in Bepanthen Nappy Care ointment. It was unpacked and placed upstairs, no moaning or questions asked. -

It's an odd one. I'd love to chuck all my boxers out ... I now have a drawer full of bodysuit vests and my wife when putting away the washing, never has to open my boxer drawer, but will open my bodysuit vest drawer and put them away. Nothing is said. Maybe that's the best way!? -

My wife has told me both; 1) that I smell and to go shower and change and 2) that I smell really nice and fresh when I came down freshly powdered. I think the former time, I'd been sat in the same nappy for too long and I must admit even I could start to smell something wasn't right. Although surprisingly, when we've had 'intimate' times and I've stripped off, even I can smell it but nothing is said - we have our fun - then I put everything back on and carry on as normal. Although my sense of smell is considerably better!? -

Absolutely! Since being at home full time and on calls literally 9am to 6pm EVERY day, forcing myself to have a short break to get lunch, I can't imagine not wearing a nappy. Sometimes mid afternoon it's getting a bit full and (I think I've said this), but I've found myself moving out a meeting by 5-10 mins just to allow a quick change. My wife even brings me cups of tea during the day if she's at home - I do feel properly lazy and definitely not looking forward to going back to the office. On the subject of cost, we never discuss that and when I did an outgoings spreadsheet the other weekend as we wanted to explore finances, my column marked "healthcare" was hidden ... it was better that way. -
My first time at work! Was fantastic
BedWetMark replied to kinkygaybottom's topic in Our Lifestyle Discussion
Absolutely - I think it always has been way beyond that for me and I do equate it to wanting to dress up women's clothing. Back in 1999 we had a guy at work who announced he'd be coming in on Monday no longer as Jim (name changed) but as Jill (er, name changed). And on Monday, he appeared dressed as Jill and everyone then used Jill as the name. I always had some kind of envy with that. But I've never been able to get my head around how to deal with what I want to wear and normal life, especially as most people don't understand the need to wear at night vs the desire to wear all the time .... and I can't explain it, sigh. i think you're right though, I'm overthinking, I don't think anyone will be crotch gazing as it'll be avoiding high fives, checking out everyone's "hilarious" looking masks, sanitising, coughing into elbows and meeting all the new hires we've made over the last year. I think I'll be fine if I find a thinner nappy I feel happy with as I sit around all day in Tykables at the moment which are FAR from discreet. -

Good thread. I'm just not sure when we go "back to normal" that a) I want to wear boxer shorts again and b) whether I could get away with wearing nappies. Since the first lockdown, in fact no, since before the first lockdown as I started working from home full time very early in March, I've worn nappies near 24/7 and I absolutely love it. However my normal office attire is a shirt and smart, but tight Levis. I just don't see how I can rock up back at an office, even for 2 days a week in anything other than what I wore before. Maybe I should change jobs .... but it's causing me stress well ahead of time and I honestly don't know how to handle it and what to do with it. Sometimes I wish I preferred something simple like wearing women's underwear ... hey ho! -
Strange days indeed - a 24 x 7 experiment
BedWetMark replied to oznl's topic in Our Lifestyle Discussion
I've said this before, but mine and my wife's discussions ebb and flow in terms of anger or unwilling acceptance. Monday I was doing something upstairs with my wife, tidying around and I'd left some plastic pants on the floor (I generally wear them at night and not during the day as I get too hot) which I'd forgotten about. I just got a "and you can put THOSE away, disgusting". Today she got home from work and went for a bath. I was still working downstairs and she called me up and said "I'm out, you can shower and change now". So I did, got undressed, un-popped my vest and we stood there talking about something for a few mins before I went and showered. So sometimes it feels as if that acceptance is real. This has been a decent week ... BUT ... it's a fine line and something will cause the what's-wrong-nothing-what's-wrong-nothing cycle soon, probably resulting in a rant about wearing nappies. On another note, last week was particularly cold and she had to be outside for something. I offered her one of my vests (as they ARE warm and comfy), she pulled a face and said "ugh, no, I'm not a baby" and walked off. End of conversation. -

I've recently tried a few as my wife didn't bat an eyelid when she folded one up for me a few months ago (I left it out as a test to see her reaction). Tykables Snappies. They aren't cheap, but they are SO soft and comfortable, also, the snaps are slightly further forwards than other makes so it makes it easier to do them up yourself without having to perform yoga as some seem to want you to do. -

I was going to ask the same. In a country where everything wants to kill you, no way I'd be going under a house! I'm terrified of my loft space with a few webs from completely non-venomous (well, to humans) house spiders! -

I think you're spot on about the cessation of active complaints. In my experience they have lessened so far, but there is definitely an undertone that rumbles along. Still, I can't really complain, I do feel like I am lucky in many ways. As for the "Australian tax", I had never realised it was that much more expensive for you guys. It makes a mockery of the programme over here where families compare their UK lifestyle to one in Oz. Personally I still don't get why so many people make the move (my own friends included) when EVERYTHING can kill you and now you're telling me it is so much more expensive. I'll stay in Hampshire thank you -
From time to time when I know I'll be on my own, I'll do it too. Both out of sheer laziness so I don't have to move and also because I fancy messing (excuse the pun) around. Clean up is a pain and the longer you sit in it, the worse the smell is. Sometimes it seems to hand around forever. My clean up routine is; 1. Shower number 1. Quick shower to wash down, with a high smelling shower gel. 2. Air dry. 3. Show number 2. A proper shower. 4. New nappy on, but with loads of baby talc in the seat of it which seems to make sure everything smells great again. I can't say I'd find any enjoyment in being incontinent in that respect, I just think it must be a massive pain, but occasionally it's 'fun'. Sometimes I wish I had a "normal" fetish ... haha!

I looked up Littles Downunder ... god, you have to pay through the nose for nappies don't you? I didn't realise the prices would be THAT much higher (given the current exchange rate to GBP), I was shocked. Also, looks like you're suffering from the same stock issues that I seem to be noticing here too, there is not a great deal in stock generally. I've had to order the old faithful Tena Slips again (Ultima though) as stocks of Tykables, Rearz and ABU seem to be getting lower month by month. Maybe there is a delayed knock on in the supply chain? Anyway, bigger step for me today. As I've said I've been wearing (nearly) 24/7 since March when lockdown happened, with the odd hour out of a nappy here and there. Today my wife asked if I'd walk round and pick our son up together as I'd given up with work early. I went and showered as is the usual end of day routine and then changed into a fresh ABU Simple with vest/bodysuit, shorts and t-shirt over the top, generally my standard wear for the past 8/9 months. She got up to go and I said I'd come, I put some trainers on and threw a coat on. She was sat on the stairs as I walked past and I felt a prod to by backside. "You're not wearing THAT are you?". "Yes, let's go". Lots of grumbling but I just got on with opening the door and we left together. A few months ago I'd have been moaned at until I changed or just been left at home. Feels like progress, I think ... I hope. -
I don't think there is anywhere in the UK that stocks Bambino anymore, am I wrong?
-
I used to only wear ABU, but their quality went downhill with side panels ripping and so on. Now I exclusively rear Tykables - they are brilliant. Consistent in quality and reliable at night.

24/7 startups, and unexpected pitfalls?
BedWetMark replied to Little Sherri's topic in Diaper Lovers
Question for you, which term sounds more babyish, nappy or diaper? I associate nappies with baby nappies as that's what I grew up with and diapers with adult diapers as that's what I mostly see on the internet. Personally I prefer nappies, being English and all that, but it helps with the humiliation aspect that I love. ........ sometimes I wish I had normal cravings in life, haha ....... -

For me, yes. Lie down, powder, grab the lower right, then lower left, they'll be nice and tight, then stand up and tape the top two whilst breathing in ... At some point an hour or so later, I'll re-do the top two tighter again though. -

Yes. I've found myself over the last couple of months ensuring that a meeting does not clash with a time when I think I should change. Based upon how well I know the nappy and my body, I can estimate that I will need to change at x o'clock and I have moved meetings to ensure I get a little time to do this. Although one meeting I was 10 mins late to as I "had a bathroom break", ahem. Basically I'd sprung a leak and leaks are annoying as it generally means clothes and seating will smell ... bad, so I act on this fast. To your original point, I have pushed back (for example) tradesmen coming to the house to quote, because I was at peak nappy usage and I have made every excuse under the sun to not do x, y or z because I was fairly clean and VERY comfortable. It is times like that when I wish I didn't love this so much, but then, it's time like now when I'm sat here ready for bed in a fresh Tykables and bodysuit/vest, that I do love this. I'm actually working late to get a document done, wife and child are long gone to bed, but this is my time. Yes. -

Love this! It also backs up my own findings (completely unscientific) about days when I'm busy vs days when I'm working at a desk. Working at a desk days, I'll fill a Tykables (clean in the morning, change at 6pm) because of the amount of tea and coffee I drink as well as water. Days when I'm gardening or doing 'hard labour' in the house, barely anything comes out and it feels like a complete waste of a nappy, but I like to be fresh before bed. Salt is also an interesting data point as I find the day after a dominos, once I've had a few cups of tea and some water, the floodgates at some point will open. -
They are "okay". They are extremely expensive and far less absorbent than say Tykables, Rearz or ABU. They look good, but like other nappies (i.e. Play Dayz), for me they are definitely in the "playing as an AB" bucket rather than the "rely on these to stop you leaking" bucket. I wouldn't trust them at night. Amazon stock them too.
-
Also ABU nappies are a bit quieter and they do decent cloth backed ones too. But honestly, as someone else said, YOU are more likely to hear the noise than anyone else. Most people don't wear nappies day to day, so it's not something people expect to see or hear, expect people like us, who are tuned in to it.
-
Unless you ditch plastic completely, the only thing that really works is tight fitting underwear over the top. So men's boxers (a size too small) or similar will dull the noise right down. I love my Tyables nappies, but they are SO VERY NOISY that they just don't work when people are around. The medical ones are sadly better for that, i.e. Tena, as the plastic is softer. But generally the way to go is very tight fitting (adult) underwear over the top.

Honest review. As I need for night, I put one on before I went to bed, woke up and it was a bit damp, but I kept it on. I've let go a few times during the day and it's now 2239 in the evening and I still have the same one on. Observations: Yes it holds bloody loads and yes it's secure at night (as are all Tykeables), BUT ........ I can smell ammonia. So that's the downside, I think 12 hours is the max for these nappies, absolute max ... no one wants to smell of ammonia or like a public toilet. I do love the design though.
