@SparganoAt least I got my respect elevated, that must be worth something I suppose. 😁 It is always smart to stick to one plan until you investigated all options involved. And as said in my previous post it took a number of attempts for me as well to find the best fit, I think that applies for most stent users. And I do have to admit, Cathdiap`s design together with the holy foley concept is most likely the most copied design here, which says a lot. @cathdiap True, but well worth it 😂

This exactly cloth diapers do the trick.

@SparganoWell I am not masochistic that I’m pretty sure off, of course that doesn't say anything about my pain threshold although I do not think it is out of the ordinary, no I can’t feel it when installed. When I started out with this design I had some successes and some massive failures. My first design was about 140 mm or 5-1/2” inch now it is 90 mm or 2-5/8” inch in length. I went through numerous stages until what it is today. The overall width at the location where the O-ring is attached to the tube is bigger than 6 mm or 1/4 “ it will reach some 8 mm or 5/16” at that point. If your plumbing is somewhat narrow I can imagine it will irritate the heck out of it. That is why they make catheters in various diameters not everybody is the same that is why the whole process of making a stent comes down to trial and error. I am not so tall only 170 cm about 5` 8” if you are 2 meters or 6` 8” it makes a lot of difference. One thing I do know, if the distance between the two O-rings are not correct and one will not seat properly in your bladder and the other in the bulbous it will irritate like hell, I do know the feeling as it happened to me too in one of my failed attempts. Anyway, another lesson learned I would say this design is not for you, at least you tried must be worth something for now you know.

@Spargano I use a standard needle and sew the O-ring to the side of the silicone tube, not much to it. I go back and forth through the same hole about four times, by adding more tread in the smae hole I work up some sort of resistance so the tread and O-ring stay put, I don’t tie it off. Basically I use two pieces of fishing wire one to stich the two O-ring and one to make the retrieval line. There are no knots in the first line and the knot of the retrieval line is hidden inside the stent. To insert the stent no tools are needed, just push it in and slide forward it until in place. Takes less then 10 seconds to get it in place.

@UsuallyDiapered No, the O-rings are not big and the silicone material is very soft and pliable, they measure 19 x 1.58 mm metric or 3/4” x 1/16”. I do stich them to the tube using the same fishing wire as the one used for the retrieval line. The color becomes darker since the wire leans against each other. I think two O-rings are mandatory to keep the stent from migrating into the bladder or moving around in the first place. The second O-ring is positioned in such way that it will stay in the bulbous. The length of the stent in the lower part is no more than 5 /8” so it won’t enter the urethra, it will also stay in the bulbous.

Not a whole lot to explain most know I wear diapers and for the rest? I do not care just let them think or what dubious said, it is medical.

Mine is small or at least I think so, didn’t measure it. But is wouldn’t have it any other way if I had the choice. My now ex-wife kicked me to the curb some eleven years ago never started a new relationship since. Nowadays it is only used to wet my diaper and being not that big for me comes as a blessing. Most definitely my willy won’t pop out when erect.

@cathdiap Yes I do use my stent during the day as well, frankly, I use it 24/7. For sure I do take it out every once in a while for whatever reason, mostly because it needs cleaning. Although I took you design as a template about seventeen years ago, I gave it my own spin. I agree it is interesting to see that although we both followed our own path, approach and ideas the end result seems to be the same, luck us. @Spargano I’ll add a picture of the stent I make nowadays. Over the years it didn’t change all that much kept the basics the same. The trick for me was to find the right length and distances between the O-rings. The overall length today is 9 cm metric or 3-5/8” American standard. The measurements I use are: 25 mm or 1” for the top end, 50 mm or 2” between the O-rings and 16 mm or 3/8” at the end. The retrieval line is about 25 cm or 10” can be shortened at any desired length. I make it out of silicone and fishing line. Accidents happen or do they……………..😂

Hi Cathdiap all is well and I hope the same goes for you. Still use the same stent design. Over time I made some very small changes all related to distances between the O-rings and some related to the overall length. For me the stent works just fine, I go to bed wearing a dry diaper and wake up soaked, all as intended. Indeed we seem to be quite innovative as it comes to stent design, I think it is part of our Dutch heritage.😊 As for the dubious field, maybe but who cares as long as it serves its purpose which it does. 😃

This exactly love every minute of it.

I do not keep a specific schedule if a diaper change is needed for whatever reason I will simply change.
-
I do wear disposable diapers throughout the day for they are much easier to change if needed, but I really prefer cloth diapers and plastic pants. If money wouldn’t be a problem I would make plastic pants I remember from childhood using the foil they had back in the days and make thick cloth diapers to go with the pants.
-
Depends they start to leak after just one wetting.
-
For me there are two different circumstances, wearing diapers during daytime, active mode, and night time or private mode. During the day I wear disposables and they have to be reliable, absorbent and not too visible, usually a medical grade diaper. Over the disposable I wear a thin cloth diaper and plastic pants as a extra layer of protection, never or hardly ever fails me Then there is night time or private time. Different ballgame. To me the most important aspects for me wearing diapers: authenticity, I like and prefer to wear cloth diapers and plastic pants. They have to be thick and absorb sufficient urine. They have to be soft and comfortable. If I had It my way I would wear nothing else but cloth, but changing wet cloth diapers is too complicated while being at work for instance or being active in general. That’s why I swing back and forth between the two.
-
As I wear 24/7 I keep diapers in strategic places, so if I need a diaper change it can be dealt with. I do not think too much about it anymore. I simply find myself a place where I feel comfortable with and take care of business.
-
In general I put on a clean diaper before going to bed, that is if needed of course. So when I turn in and go to sleep my diaper is nice and dry. When I wake up my diaper is usually soaked and that is why I do not go to sleep with a damp or wet diaper it will increase the risk of leakage.
-
Nope I hate diaper rash. If it gets really bad it might mean I have to go without a diaper which is a big no no
-
I wouldn’t change a thing. For about as long as I can remember I wanted to be back in diapers and I expect it to be the case until the day I die. Things changed over the years mostly because I became more and more confident in wearing diapers, the same thing goes for using a stent in order to lose control. I always wanted to use my diaper for its intended purpose but as a was proper potty trained at an early age I had no other option but to wait until I left the house. Now I had to find a way to fulfil my desires and means to achieve my goal, and I did. nowadays I use a stent 24/7 only to take it out for cleaning purposes and that is it. I adjusted my life accordingly so I live my life as an incontinent person. No regrets never look back

I have been following this topic from the day it has been posted. I think it is very interesting to read and above all very informative. For all those whom share the same feelings it is almost an essential read. I can fully understand the desire to be or become diaper dependent, I share the same desire and feelings. For me the most valuable aspect of this topic is to learn about the struggles it gave Bobby brown, Reddy and maybe some others whom want down this road. To be honest I thought or better yet expected is was an onetime deal, you go in for surgery and that would be it, apparently it is much more complicated than that. Although I do not expect my desires and feelings to change for they’ve been a part of me for about as long as I can remember, I now know that surgery will not be an option for me. Like so many others here on the forum I found a way to control the feelings and desires I have in a less invasive way. To me it is clear the method I use will be and is sufficient. In daily life I have to wear diapers, by choice. If I go to bed I will have to wear diapers, by choice cause if I wouldn’t I would wake up in a wet bed and throughout the day my clothing would be wet 24/7. The only thing that differs from surgery I can undo my incontinence if I want too, but I don’t. So I am really thankful or I really appreciate the fact that some of our members whom did go in for surgery shared their story, telling not only the upsides but also talked about the downsides of it all. The fact that both sides of the story are being highlighted makes it extremely valuable to make a proper assessment if surgery is something for you to pursue or not.

In general my diaper makes it though the night just fine. I tried different kind of diapers and found that disposable diaper have a tendency to leak more often than cloth. Nowadays to bed I wear nothing but cloth as they provide 360 degrees absorbency, and it is easy to add more diapers if needed. Aside of that I find it very cost effective.

Right bottom, left bottom, left upper, right upper job done

Yes I did on numerous occasions I might add. I have been traveling by car, train and airplane and kept my stent in. The stent I made has no metal components so it won’t trigger any metal detectors at the airport. Over the years of stent use I pretty much know what the limits are, so if you stay well on the safe side of these limits you should be okay. Same thing applies when I go to bed, I always put on a dry diaper for I know thanks to my stent it will be soaked the morning I wake up. If I were to go to sleep while the diaper is already damp chances are more than likely you will leak during the night. To me it all comes down to proper planning and getting a feel as to how far you can push things.

Save express in Germany sells them too.

Do you use your diaper for everything? If so, how do you manage #2?
dlnoir replied to Little Sherri's topic in [DD] Surveys
I wear diapers 24/7 but only use them for #1. #2 is not my thing.
