  1. Unfortunately Incontinence issues can happen at any age, when out and about I would recommend you try a premium taped diaper like Betterdry or other premium diapers that you can trust. Thicker diapers are less noticeable then wet pants and you will be way less stressed when you don't have to worry your diaper will leak due to being low capacity diaper like depends. Phantom pee feelings subside over time, I went through them years ago when my OaB first started to act up i think it took a year for it to settle down but even now I get the occasional phantom pee feelings. Knowing you are protected and you dont have to race to the bathroom and not make it when out and about is worth wearing a premium diaper, I gave up trying to make it to the bathroom years ago as it was more not making it then making it in time. I simply use my diaper to pee on the occasion I actually feel the need most times my bladder simply releases. Depending on your situation Ie number of times you need to pee and your hold time between felling the need to actually peeing you may decide to simply use your diaper as its less stressful and less embarrassing when you dont make it.
  2. Just remember Nocturnal bedwetting is the hardest form of IC issues to reverse and can lead to day time issues Ie you close your eyes for a nap and chances are your will pee while you are sitting on the sofa or passenger seat of a car. Ive been diapered 24/7 for 6 years for an OAB issue and I pee with out warning but I rarely pee while sleeping most nights I wake up slightly and the flood gates open. Im use to having to wear and use my diaper and yes I wish I could pee while I sleep as being woken to pee is a pain as most times I donot get back to sleep for an hour or so. I would never choose to pee at night if I did not all ready have an IC issue.
  3. I would recommend getting multiple reusable bed pads (large ones) this way if (when) you leak you simply swap out the pad for a clean one this way the bedding stays dry
  4. Remember the moto do on self harm, wearing a catheter and a hollow but plug at the same time is not a good idea its not if you get a UTI infection its how quick you get one. Being incontinent especially bowel incontinent is nothing to strive for just ask any one who has no choice but to wear and how embarrassing a unexpected bowel movement is. if you do follow your desires to loose control pick one at a time as the second will follow in time but forget the cheap diapers pick a diaper you can trust to do its job I wear betterdry or crinkles diapers to manage my OAB issue and my increasing bowel issues.
  5. My largest single order was 10 cases of Crinklz and Betterdry diapers when they were on sale. I now restock earlier so my average order is 4 to 6 cases at a time.
  6. If your urologist feels you need to self catheter due to retention and a catheter and leg bag is not an option there is a surgical procedure that can be done to cut a small portion of your internal and external sphincter to allow a constant flow of pee. Its a permanent option as you will never be able to retain and will constantly be dribbling. One user here went through the procedure a few times for it to finally work. I think this option is a last resort when catheters are not an option, I can not remember the members name at the moment but he has stated it did work. after several attempts (small cuts each time) . Talk to your urologist about options they may even be able to put a stent in to allow constant dribbling with the need for surgery (I think its called a spanner stent ) and it’s designed to be inserted for a longer period but still needs to be swapped out.
  7. I buy multiple cases at a time or bulk buy 10 cases when theres a sale to keep the overall prices down. buying single bags is to expensive on a regular bases I only by single bags when trying a new diaper I may switch to.
  8. IBS unfortunately is not an once in a while issue and can grow worse over time, Keep your doctor informed of any changes in frequency of unexpected bowel movements. Ive been wearing 24/7 for almost 6 years for a bladder issue but over the last year unexpected bowel movements have started to happen and in more and more frequency. both my doctor and urologist were not surprised or worried as Im guessing its a normal progression of Ic and bowel issues. I would recommend staying with disposable diapers while out and about as dealing with cloth diaper changes in public (especially if you have a unexpected bowel movement would be harder to deal with in a cloth diaper) with a disposable you can simply clean up and change and go about your day with out having to carry a soiled cloth diaper.
  9. Always be open and honest with your doctor and urologist explain your issues and have them run some tests, most urologists will recommend any other treatment other then diapers at first. I chose diapers over meds right at the start of my IC issues even though my urologist was really wanting me to be a lab rat and go on a blind medication study. Since diapers were my choice we pay for my supplies as our insurance does not cover diapers just meds or catheters. Your urologist will assign an continence nurse in most cases to help manage your IC issues and to confirm you indeed have a medical issue, get checked out and talk to your doctor to see what he finds and recommends then discuss your choice to wear diapers 24/7 but be prepared to at least try some different treatments to manage your bladder issue this way he can see your issue may be best managed by wearing diapers and can then proscribe diapers as your recommended management plan. Remember never lie or miss inform your Doctor on any medical issue
  10. Canada Post is running behind on packages with more people ordering online they can not handle the volume (Christmas Level at times) I have found Fedex is running ontime for most of my shipments but they still have delays on occasion.
  11. I wore real fit for men when my IC issue first started and they worked great for my small mini surges but I was in taped diapers after 2.5 months or so due to increased accidents and (Volume)
  12. Your urologist will want to do some tests ie scope your bladder with a camera and do a retention test once done he can make the determination that a catheter is requited due to bladder retention. if you wesr a diaper 24/7 and are having multiple accidents a day you could request a catheter as your preferred method protection. If you do not have a medical issue chances are an urologist will not recommend a catheter due to the infection risks and the risk of scaring your urinary track with constant catheter insertions and removals. Just be open and honest with your urologist but don't be disappointed if he refuses to do so if its not in your best medical interest but he may be open to a trial run of a few months for you to try it instead of relying on a diaper to manage your ic issues all you can do is ask
  13. Be careful what you wish for you may get it, That being said the more you wear and use the faster your body adapts to being diapered thats why urologists and continence nurses do-not recommend diapers at the start of IC issues. One thing to keep in mind especially if you are already having slight bowel issues its possible for you to become dual diaper dependant not just bladder dependent. Im in diapers 24/7 for an OAB but have noticed my remaining control is almost gone as my body adapted to simply using my diaper. I am now experiencing bowel issues where ai get a feeling ai need to go and a few seconds later im filling my diaper. Both my doctor and urologist were not surprised or worried this is now happening even though up until the last year I have had no bowel issues. its been 5.5 years for me I no longer own any underwear, and my bladder releases with no warning at all and unfortunately my bowels are following the same path as I am experiencing no warning bowel releases on occasion. if being diaper dependant is something you truly want remember it may be a one way street once you become dependent there may be no going back to 100% dry. I no longer worry about using my diaper to pee and I stay relaxed all the time now as it is what it is so I have accepted im in diapers for life and even of I become dual IC its not the end of the world as its manageable.
  14. Dealing with diapers 24/7 gets easier over time as you accept and adjust your daily life to being diapered, as you wear and change more often in public and at work the the embarrassing feelings will subside as you stop worrying if people may notice your diaper. I carry a skip-hop sling bag its light weight and can carry 3 premium better dry diapers or 2 diapers and a pack of wipes its a small bag and is a cammo design so no one can tell its a diaper bag. I would recommend getting a few onesies (Tykables plain colour are my favourite) and switching to a premium diaper you can trust like Betterdry or other premium diapers, taped diapers will give you better protection and are quick and easy to change. Being diapered 24/7 has not changed my life that much other then making traveling a bit more challenging
  15. When we travel we let the hotel know I have an IC issue and request a mattress protector, most hotels say they donot have one and its not a problem. We use Parents Choice disposable bed pads (2 overlapping to get better coverage) and so far its worked out great no wet mattress. I did have a bad night when we were are Disney worlds all star resort I leaked and the comfiter got wet I let the maid know in the morning and it was swapped out with nothing said.
  16. My wife fully accepts my need for diapers, and I have no issues putting on a diaper with her in the room, When at home (Its. just the 2 of us) I wear nothing but a diaper when its hot. Diapers are a non issue they are just my underwear that is absorbent and are medically required so theres no shame or need to hide the fact I am wearing them 24/7.
  17. When my OAB issue got to the point of full floods my bladder would release when I was standing still or as soon as I stood up getting out of bed, over time I no pee in any situation (Driving, sleeping, walking). Even with a medical IC issue my body had to adapt, you will get to the point of using your diaper in any position over time even if not medically IC over time especially if you are in a mind set that its what you want. You may get to the point of peeing with out notice at some point in time you will be wrapped up in your daily life and not notice your peeing until you feel your diaper expanding and even then some times you will notice your diaper is wet but have no recollection of when you peed.
  18. I had to meet up with my boss the other day to grab some masks and gloves I really felt bad for him as he had to pee but all the bathrooms were closed Tims and the gas station had blocked off the washrooms for public access. He still had an hour or so to go before he would be back at his office for me it was a non issue as I have been diapered 24/7 for a OAB issue so closed bathrooms are a non issue.
  19. Sorry to hear you have to wear 24/7, Dealing with incontinence does get easier over time, just remember you are not alone and we are all here to help and support each other. You will find taped diapers work way better then pull ups and are easier and quicker to change as you no longer need to remove your pants to change, it wont take long to get the taping down pat and putting on a diaper will become second nature. I would recommend getting samples of different premium diapers as there is a bit of trial and error in finding a diaper that will work best for you. Recommended diapers (that have proven to work well for managing my OAB) you may have to order online Betterdry (My diaper of choice ) Forsite AM/PM Incontrol Elite Hybrid Adult Incontinence Briefs Tykables Cammies (For a change of pace from plain white medical diapers ) they are the most adult looking printed diaper ai have tried I also recommend Tykables plain coloured onesies to help hide your diaper when you bend or stretch they look like regular shirts and you do t have to worry about your shirt riding up and exposing your diaper. Before I started to wear a onesie the funniest exposure was in a Tim Hortons line my sister inlaw came out of the bathroom passed behind me and pulled my shirt back down over with out slowing down
  20. I find betterdry or crinklz get me through most of the day, what diaper are you currently using most diapers will reach a saturation point quicker if it does not have good wicking abilities since the pee will simply pool in one location while the diaper absorbs.
  21. When ever we travel we let the hotel know I need a bed protector, we travel with disposable bed pads as extra protection some times the hotels like (Disney) put a bed protector on but most simply ignore the request. At least we can say we requested and took extra care to protect the mattress if something happens. I always amazes me when the hotel says they don’t provide mattress protectors and they are not worried about it, then I worry what the mattress look like
  22. I no longer own any underwear after 5 years of being diapered 24/7 why bother.
  23. Since the stores started to limit TP sales to 1 pack per weeks ago its been getting easier to buy however you still need to get to the store in the morning if you want to buy as they are still running out later in the day this could now just be a shipping issue vrs hoarding.
  24. Unfortunately the larger box may have been delivered and grabbed by some one if the shipment was left out side or was delivered to the wrong address best thing to do is get the UPS tracking info and get UPS to run a trace, If it was delivered and stolen you will need to file a claim. If Rearz can not provide a tracking number then they will have to resend the case, if you get any pushback you may have to file a claim with your credit card company . I have allways had good customer service from Rearz so you should have no issues. I really do not like the new way of shipping just drop off the package outside the door and leave its an open invitation to theft.
  25. Remember the Moto do no self harm, If you want to wear 24/7 and use your diaper for its intended purpose then do so over time your body will adapt and you will experience loss of control with out doing any physical harm to your body. It will also give you time to decide if bowel incontinence is something you really want. It dose not take long for your body to adapt when it’s something you really want, one thing to think about its really embarrassing when a bowel moment hits at the wrong time.
