  1. I rarely have a problem understanding British accents, but I definitely needed subtitles to understand that one. Just out of curriosity, what show is that and where is that accent from.
  2. I'm 90% certain (notice- not 100% sure) that Bill Watterson never made a dime off either 'Peeing Calvin' or 'Praying Calvin'. And much like Calvin and Hobbes and The Far Side, Animainiacs were true highlights of late 20th century culture. All of them were so well written (I was bit older when Animainiacs were on, but it became appointment television (and that was before I had DVR to record stuff like that). BTW, why is that show not even on some cable network now? They were timeless.
  3. I saw the begining of the show, but decided to watch something else pretty quickly. The diapers caught my attention, but the watching people being tortured (even faked) was not comfortable. I also had a major issue with the tone of the show, which seemed to say 'The public is going to hell, and we're going to prove it." I was kind of like the old guy in Sienfeld when George was asking how he could handle life knowing he could die any minute, the guy got up and left telling George, "I don't have enough time left to spend it listening to you."
  4. I do understand where you're coming from (although I do sense I little bit of hostility in your comments- if you didn't mean to be accusatory, I apologize for taking offense. If you are accusing me of not caring, then I don't really care what you think). There are numerous problems in education right now, and contrary to what the press and public perception, it isn't that kid's aren't learning. That is the amazing part, despite having schools that look like POW camps and near Gulag type conditions, 95% of the kids are learning. And they're learning material that we didn't learn until the next grade. Kids really are amazing. Now as far as making needed changes, believe me I know. I see it and my colleques know how I feel (I've said the same thing to them that I posted above). It is a hard battle, and quite frankly I feel like it is failing. Some elementary schools are doing away with recess (and probably have the same issues with the bathrooms). The reason that this happens is that principals are under tremendous pressure to improve test scores and sometimes don't understand good teaching and how kids learn. Don't get me wrong. I love my job, and I'm proud of my industry. We work hard, and nearly everybody really does want the very best for our students. Unfortunately, it is much harder to change an institution. Just think what would happen at your workplace if the bathrooms were out of commision and you had to use them in shifts. Why does somebody think it is acceptable for young kids? (I know, it is rhetorical question).
  5. Yes, but unfortunately schools in the USA don't always do a very good job treating kids with respect (and that isn't a knock against administrators or teachers-I am one. It is an institutional problem that is very hard to fix. Our kids start school at 8:10 and get out at 3:06. Every hour they have 3 minutes to get to the next class (which is usually right next door, so that isn't a big deal), but they are expected to use the bathroom during that 3 minute break if needed (which is usually high demand). Teachers will let them use the bathroom during the class period, but we discourage it (this with cause because kids frequently are doing other things, and try to escape class). Their only real break is a 30 minute lunch. When we have workshops, we don't really start until 8:30 to 9:00. At 10 we get a twenty minute break, and a 1 hour lunch. Unfortunately there are reasons for the restricted access. At our schools we fight kids 'tagging' in the bathrooms, and vandalization is a constant battle. A lot of kids can handle unsupervised time (as they get older), and act as responsible as adults (sometimes more), however some kids don't. And that is a problem! Now as far as something like this happening, unfortunately it isn't that surprising. It takes something like a Lawsuit to get districts to pay attention to such things, because teachers concerns are almost always ignored.
  6. Sorry about that, I didn't notice the other post talking about Ryanair. I think made a good point (I like the statement that the Irish disown Ryanair). I knew that they were terrible (I wouldn't fly them if they were half price). All this begs the question: Why do people fly MOL slumlord airways?
  7. Before we get our diapers in a twist, something we should take in mind. 1. Michael O'Leary (CEO of Ryanair) is not your typical pre-fab Ivy League Business school CEO, nor is he one of those self-made eccentric millionaire CEO's who want their companies to be the best. MOL is unique kind of profit hungry CEO who charges rock-bottom prices and cuts anything non-essential (sort of attitude that says- you get what you pay for). If the EU didn't make him put life vest, or didn't monitor his planes, he would probably charge for the seat belts. 2. Ryanair is what you get when he is the CEO. They charge rock-bottom prices (their prices are really good) to fly between secondary airports-usually about 60 miles from the actual city you want to visit, with absolutely zero service. In other words, this isn't Jet Blue with their free Direct TV in your seat. 3. Most other airlines don't follow Ryan Air. They follow Southwest (if they do this, then everyone else will follow) or Easy Jet. It definitely wouldn't fly in the USA, and I doubt the FAA would allow it anyway. I don't even think it will work in Europe (Ryanair will lose customers from this, and the money they make from the toilets may not offset it). Still that being said, how is this for a scenario: Ryanair charges for the bathroom, causing a number of people to wear a diaper for their flight. After using the diaper, they realize they enjoy it, and our numbers increase.
  8. That may be the truth. I know I have absolutely no problems peeing while lying down, because I do it all the time. It isn't automatic, but not that hard. When I'm riding in the car I have no problems, although the sitting makes it a little bit hard. It is very hard for me to wet my diaper while I'm driving, even if I have to pee. I end up get to the point where I've held it too long and may flood my diaper when I finally am able to let loose.
  9. It is interesting that you can have a movie that guns, violent crime, and deaths of innocent people get a PG-13 rating, but any non-standard sex will get you a NC-17. Apparently we want to tell our teens that is all right to kill innocent people, but sex should only be performed in the missionary position (and then only in limited instances).
  10. I noticed Gavin Newsome didn't play along. I guess being pictured as an AB wouldn't exactly be good for his bid to replace Arnold.
  11. This is one of my triggers. Just putting the diaper on will cause me to wet myself. When I wear diapers, I try to pee frequently and avoid flooding the diaper with one big wetting.
  12. Same here. It follows South Park, and I frequently end up rushing for the remote just to make sure I don't catch any of the show. Tonight it is on my DVR recording (thank God I don't have TiVO and it ends up recording all her shows).
  13. I have to commend Adrian for putting herself out there as much as she does. I always look forward to her post, and want to thank her for courage. Unfortunately, since she puts her self out there so much, there is always a small minority of people who really do have infantile minds and only think about themselves. I also think it is very easy to pay more attention to one negative comment than all the encouraging posts (which is why you can never give people enough compliments). Now as far as the question, I see no reason for someone to risk their personal life just to apease people who you don't know. I know I wouldn't want my face being seen on the internet.
  14. I have to admit I find that commercial very annoying now. Of course after seeing it about 500 times (I admit, I like having the t.v. on) it is plain annoying. Maybe it is just because I'm more aware of it, but it seems like this Jack in Box commercial has been played longer than most.
  15. Their commercials are a LOT better than their food!
  16. For those wondering, "Jack In The Box" is a fast food/hamburger chain that is very common in the western USA. They have some very cool ads, all featuring "Jack" who is the CEO with a big giant clown head. This particuliar ad had some typical businessmen being pushed in stroller while talking on cell phones. All of the sudden one of the suits throws a fit and starts to cry, and the 'mommie' says "Ah, are you hungry?" "Here's your snack." The suits then start pushing each other like little kids. It's theme is "Adults need snacks too." A pretty cool ad, even if there weren't any diapers.
  17. As I've gotten older I've come to accept diapers as just something I enjoy and the cycles have grown less intense. I tend to wear them more often, but it isn't something that I run home thinking "Man, I've got to get a diaper on." Ofcourse a big reason is that if I want to wear a diaper now, I just wear one (especially now that I live by myself). I probably sleep in a diaper more than 90% of the time, so that may be a big reason that I don't go through huge cycles right now. Ironically, the longest time I've spent without diapers in the last few years (since I turned 30) is the time that I was in a serious relationship. While I was in the relationship I had very limited desire to wear a diaper (it was still there, but kind of like the same desire to win the lotery, or suddenly become a PGA golfer- not anything that was actual dominating my life). However, once we split up the desire hit very strongly and I had to go to Walmart to get some diapers (I had thrown them out).
  18. This is a very small reference, but nonetheless unusual. I heard an adult diaper reference by the color commentator (why is there a color commentator for a hot dog eating contest?) during the Nathan's Hot Dog Eating contest. If you haven't watched it, it is a trip to watch. They make a really big deal about it, and the eaters are considered superstars. Anyway, right in the heat of the competition there was comment about how exciting this all was, and the color commentator responded: "That's why I'm glad I'm wearing an adult diaper."
  19. I thought only Belgians made statues for scatalogical references. I wonder if this will become as popular as Maken Pis in Brussels (which btw is not as big as it seems in pictures).
  20. Thank you for the work in making the You Tube. It was an interesting watch, and I didn't have to watch a whole Tyra Banks show. Someone said that Tyra Banks was as deep as a puddle in one of the comments from You Tube. I think that is giving her WAY too much credit, maybe a rain drop.
  21. For 24/7 users, How do you handle the messy accidents? I enjoy wetting my diapers and have found the once an hour theory (try to wet at least once an hour) works well. I avoid gushers and my diapers do much better. Unfortnately, pooping is something of an issue. It's not that I don't want to, because I occassionally will load up a diaper for kicks. It is just that once I do, I have to change and clean up. It is a serious pain, and I end up thinking "Why did I do this?" Ironically, I've had a few actual messy accidents as an adult, and have never actually had a pee accident. I always could have made it to the toilet.
  22. For me the Bambinos have been an excellent fit. The have a nicer feel than Molicares (I've never tried Abena, or secure) and the price seemed pretty reasonable. I've never leaked through a Bambino (close calls, but never any leaks). I currently have the Crazy Bambinos, which I bought on a good discount. I used them last week for my flight to Spokane, and it was fine. I was careful not to do a full blown wetting, and peed in the diaper about once an hour. It held great, and was still very comfortable at the end of the day. I also have the added advantage of living in the Bay Area. Since Bambinos are based in Redwood City, they usually come in a couple of days, as opposed to a week or more for other suppliers.
  23. My experience has been the opposite. I've worn diapers and Pull On underwear playing golf. In both cases I'm prone to chafe (enough that I don't do it any more- at least very often), but I've found the Pull On Underwear is worse than a disposable diaper.
  24. As far as the weather in San Francisco, it is pretty much as nice as you're going to get (and depends on what part of the bay area you actually live in). The term micro-climate correctly describes what you get in San Francisco Bay Area. In the summer I've heard KCBS (Local news radio) give a weather report of 60 degrees in San Francisco, 80 degrees in San Jose, and 100 in Walnut Creek. We also do not get any rainy days from June to October. In the winter we get about three to twelve rainy weeks, which will be spaced out between November and June. If it isn't raining, the weather is generally nice (we complain that it is cold if it gets below 50). The cost of living is unreal! Buying a house is going to cost you a small fortune (and that is for a shack, if it is nice you need an inheritance). Rents depend on what part of the bay you live in. They are more reasonable in the East Bay, and Manhattan-like in the City.
