I think you mean is there any underwear which is made of the very thin plastic found on the outside of plastic-backed diapers, rather than the thicker plastic used in plastic pants and covers? I would say probably not because firstly its probably too thin / delicate to be used on its own, and secondly its for disposable use rather than washable / reusable underwaer

I love single fold diapers, they look like bigger baby diapers which they should be! Someone gave me a couple of Lille single fold about 15 years ago, plastic-backed as well!

2nd part of my adventures: NB I have used 'panties' rather than 'pants' as it translates better and avoids confusion with trousers Later on my holiday, I took a bus to Tarragona which is a proper town rather than a tourist place. It is easy these days to find suitable shops on your phone, I just typed in Ortopedia Tarragona and I got a map with them all shown, even a blue spot to show my own current position. I wish it had been so easy when I was a teenager searching for shops to buy plastic baby panties. I just had an hour approximately while my wife was having a sleep back in Salou but I managed to visit most of the Ortopedia shops. The first one didn’t have plastic panties but the second one did, it was fantastic. It was a quiet shop (Ortopedia shops are always much quieter than Farmacias). A lady came to help me and showed me boxes of plastic incontinence pants of brand Fleming. I had already decided when looking for Corysan / Tonibox panties that T10 size would be best and the Fleming panties had the same sizing scheme. However the lady brought me a box of T10 and T12 to look at. I want plenty of space to wear a cloth nappy with the panties so I stretched out the panties in front of me but I was having difficulty deciding which size to buy. I have read other peoples adventures in these shops, so I asked if I could try them on, my Catalan wasn’t very good but I starting taking my sandals off and the lady was OK with it. I tried on both panties over my shorts. The T12 were very poofy on me and I was walking around the shop looking like a baby in a big nappy! I decided on the T10 pair though as these still had enough room for a cloth diaper. The lady packed the panties back in their box and we went to the counter where I could pay for them. At this point an older lady appeared out of a side room – I thought we had been alone, maybe she had been watching all the time! The shop was called Ortopedia Podologia Molina and is situated on Carrer de la Reina Maria Cristina. While still in Tarragona I tried 3 more shops, one was just an internet-only office, one didn’t have any panties but the last shop did. However, they were the same brand (Fleming) so I said I didn’t like them (I was hoping to get different brands for my collection).

Whenever I go on holiday, I like to buy plastic panties that we cannot buy in the UK for my collection. This month I went to Salou, Catalonia and I saw that one of the Farmacia’s had a website which sold plastic panties (Corysan and Tonibox). It said you could click and collect so I tried to order before I started my holiday, but you needed a passport number which didn’t work for me. So, I visited the Farmacia on my holiday to see if they had any plastic panties in stock. As usual, they thought I wanted disposable panties (for example Tena) so I had to explain twice. A man searched around the back of the shop but couldn’t find any. I then went to another shop which appeared to use the same website for ordering. This shop didn’t have any in stock but said they could order me some for collection tomorrow. I said OK and they searched for a long time on a computer in the back and came back with the answer that they had found some for €25. This was much more than I expected (I wanted Tonibox panties for €7.52) and eventually I realised that they were not connected to the same website as the other shop, they had just done some random searching on the internet and I had no idea what brand or style I would be receiving so I said ‘no’. A funny thing happened a couple of days later, I went back to the 1st shop which I knew used the website and I asked if they could order some. The man recognised me and I’m sure he said something to an assistant like “Oh no, not him again!” The assistant then told me firmly that they couldn’t order any for me so I quickly left the shop!

Isn't PUL and polyurethane the same thing? PUL stands for polyurethane laminate, so what's the difference?

Soft thin material but with a matte surface I think. I've had some adult ones from Poland of the same material recently although the elastic is different. The make is Kroswood and you can find them by searching for "majtki wodoodporne"

I've seen St Bernard plastic baby pants a long time ago at a Dunnes Stores branch in Liverpool round about 1990. I think that was their own brand. I'm sure there was a picture of a pair of these in the packet on the Protex Museum pages but it seems to have disappeared and I can't find a pic anywhere. I think they said 'Made in Malta' on them and they were soft frosty-clear pvc with thin elastic-in-tunnel edges, the elastic being white rubber bands. I've also seen other brands selling exactly the same pants, I think again made in Malta, there must have been a factory churning out these pants. They were just cheap basic baby pants but had a lovely feel to them!

Something came up on my facebook page today, an advert for The Continence People, a UK shop I hadn't heard of before (mind you, it sounds so similar to other sellers so its a bit confusing). I would say they are bed mats for a child to lie on with the strings to tie to the corners of the bed / cot. Also I wouldn't say these are big or adult sized, a normal UK terry 'baby' nappy is 24" by 24" although they do fit older babies / small chidren, I'm sure I've worn at about 4 yrs old!

Yes, I remember all 3 of those and have a pair or 2 of each as well. Sandra pants are still made but are just called Henleys now and they don't make the baby sizes now but still make the adult ones.

I did manage to find another old Ortopedia shop just randomly searching and it looks like the sort of place that might stock plastic incontinence pants. Hi dutchpantswetter, unfortunately I cannot remember the name of the store nor the street. I remember though that it was near Placa Catalunya either to the East of La Rambla or to the East of Passeig de Gracia. When I was writing this article, I had a look at some Ortopedias on Google Streetview but couldn't recognise it. I think it was in a small street orientated West/East and the shop was on the North side of this small street. It may have closed now, it was a basic shop rather than an expensive showroom.

Joya Braga Incontinencia Review These are Spanish incontinence pants for adults. They are well-presented as they come in a cardboard box with the manufacturer’s name and a few basic details. The name Joya is at the top and I initially thought this was the manufacturers name but it is the brand and means ‘jewel’. The maufacturer’s name is at the bottom: Jose Mestre of Barcelona. Both front and back are identical. There is nothing extra on the sides but the top and bottom edges show ‘Talla P/M/G’ (Size Pico/Mediana/Grande). I bought this pair the most fun and exciting way imo which was to search out a surgical supplies store (Ortopedia) when I was on holiday near Barcelona and had a day visiting the city. I had made a list of possible shops in the centre and went to one in a small side street somewhere near Placa Catalunya. I asked for plastic incontinence pants and the assistant found me this box from a storeroom (it was an old-fashioned place where you couldn’t browse, everything was behind the counter). I can’t remember if we discussed size but I bravely indicated it was for me and the man handed me this box. The size hasn’t been indicated on the box so it may be that these are one size, same as the current pull-on model. I carefully opened the box and pulled out the pants. They were neatly folded inside a plastic bag. Material – the pants felt quite soft and are light to medium in weight. The pants have a slight smell which is a mixture of medical perfume and PVC. The outside has a fine textured pattern, I think it is parallel ridges. It makes a small rasping noise as you rub a fingernail along it The inside is quite smooth but still matte rather than slippery. Colour translucent / white. Shape - Fairly standard shape but a very wide crotch. Also, they have quite a small ‘rise’ (height) above the top of the leg holes so they will be quite discreet but not very babyish. I also noticed that the pants do not appear to have forward-facing leg-holes so there is no obvious front and back side. However, on closer examination, there are very slightly forward-facing legholes but it’s difficult to notice and could just be inaccurate manufacture. Elastication – the pants have an elastic-in-tunnel system which I like because its familiar from the plastic baby pants of my teenage years eg Boots Brumas, Boots Triplets, Sandra Baby Pants, Sandra Incontinence Pants etc. Some people say this is a cheaper and less comfortable method than the type where there is flat elastic ribbon attached to the insides of the leg and waist holes or cloth bound edges. However, its less likely to leak than cloth bound holes. The edges are the small (narrow) type. Construction / Attachments – these pants have welded seams and hems (the hem is the folded-over material at the waist and leg holes), this is supposed to be better but I prefer sewn seams myself as I believe they show more effort / craftsmanship and I am used to them on Boots Brumas and many other traditional UK plastic pants. There are no pockets / attachment loops inside. Labelling – the pants are unlabelled, neither size nor manufacturer name is indicated unfortunately. Size: Hips (width at top of leg holes) 100cm Waist 58cm unstretched 100cm stretched at max comfortable 112cm max stretch Leg holes 44cm unstretched 56cm stretched at max comfortable Crotch 29cm Sides Height Wearing (how do they fit on me)

Just wondering how taking a medecine would stop people bedwetting and what's in it. Looking at the label it seems to contain Spanish Fly and Mercury Chloride. Surely the first would be riddled with bacteria and the second would be deathly poisonous!!
