  1. Listening to Love Shack from B52s....
  2. Funny thing is that case has nothing to do with stand your ground - all of that is just a media soundbyte that anti-gunners feed off. Living in AZ I enjoy pretty much the best gun laws in the nation - and having lived here for ten years I would say all those paranoid fears of shootouts in the street, and various other media propaganda - have never come to fruition. Arizona enjoys a relatively lower crime rate - especially compared to states with much tougher anti-gun laws (i.e. California). I am not saying it is because of guns being abundant here, but hard to deny the correlation. Of course I agree with you - there can be no hesitation in the defense of your life - that is how you get killed. Real life is not a suspense movie...
  3. If you discharge a firearm in city limits in the defense of your life, you are protected from the law - however, you could still be prosecuted and it could be very costly depending on your state and applicable laws (some states do not have a castle doctrine whereby the use of deadly force against an intruder in your home is justified and you do not have to prove it was self defense).
  4. The sound of a racking shotgun scaring intruders away is little more than a myth. Common sense tells you it works - but little evidence to support it - and if someone has broken into your home with you there - you can bet they came prepared to give trouble. Also - you really do need to aim shotguns. The amount that double 00 buckshot spreads at even 10 to 15 feet is very little - same for even the smaller shot rounds. I don't know where people get the idea that you don't have to aim shotguns. Have you ever tried skeet? Take your shotty to the range and shoot a board at different distances and you will see how much spread you really have - I think you will be surprised at how little it is.
  5. I know what you mean - I didn't think I would find myself ordering them since I like plastic backed.... but couldn't resist. Looking forward to actually getting them.
  6. You will never make it with one diaper. UW are ok - but are very medical looking and don't have near the capacity they would suggest. They seem good for the fact they are very light and you barely know you are wearing them, but leave a lot to be desired in terms of appearance (especially when wet) and their color. For AB purposes, I wouldn't buy them again.
  7. Wow - anyone actually watch this show? Those are some seriously scary looking toddlers
  8. dry 24/7 sure can leak - sometimes without warning . I think it is some error in how they are put on.
  9. Plastic sofa slip covers - seems like they would make for horrible plastic pants.
  10. Closest I have ever seen is "pañales" (Spanish for diapers) - and I think I have only seen those on older Depend packages - the I think they were "ropa interior" for a while - and now protection with tabs.
  11. Oh my, sounds bad tasting... what makes it work?
  12. I can't argue the facepalm, but I also never cared for the search function much as sometimes revisiting a topic brings new people to the discussion...
  13. Last I checked, they don't sell child porn. I love how the anti ABU crowd likes to trump up the crimes of ABU. Whatever - besides, the question was not about the business ethics or lack thereof of ABU, but rather the performance of the diaper for the money it costs. If you want to challenge the ethics of ABU - go find the numerous threads that do so and add your 2 cents to the repetitive statements already there. At least admit the reason you don't like them is because you don't like ABU... but that would be fair right? Fine if you don't want to do business with them, but at least be fair and honest about the products.
  14. nothing for myself - but got the mrs a scroll saw, kindle fire and some new pots/pans (hey, she wanted them).
  15. I wouldn't want to share it either -
  16. They have kids on nude beaches? Yikes...
  17. I don't think fits and starts are unique to diapers - there are many hobbies and interests in my life which come and go in a cyclic manner. I would bet most other people have the same phenomena if they look for it.
  18. Then be fair and say the reason you don't like them them is a personal gripe against the company, and not so much the product itself. It is fine for the purpose it serves - and I suspect there are enough threads around to rant about ABU without starting another one. SDKs were never meant for heavy wetting at night (although with a booster they do fine for me)- and so holding them to that standard is having expectations that can never be met.
  19. Everyone likes different things - and to me they are worth it over your "medicalized" examples of diapers. I don't want a diaper I can wear all day considering changing diapers is part of the fun for me. Of course SDK are not the highest performing diapers out there, but they do reasonably well for a diaper meant to look like a baby diaper rather than an incontinence brief, and compared to the cost of other such types of diapers (Bambino, etc), I find them reasonable.
  20. Not sure what to make of it - but seems rather disturbing with the gun and all - obviously there was more going on between the daughter and mother than we are told... Hopefully there are none who can truly relate to what is going on in the film.
  21. I usually get 2-3 wettings out of them, and they are especially better with some kind of booster. I think for the price they are competitive and I like the looks and one tape as well. I think their price is reasonable.
  22. Typically items used to manage incontinence are allowed under an FSA, however you have to check with your specific plan about any further requirements they impose. Some require a doctor's note and others do not. FSA's will become less useful over time it seems as they are adding contribution limits soon, OTC medications are not reimbursable unless you have a prescription, and an ever growing list of requirements. I suspect eventually they will become too burdensome to use...
