I would love to go to MFF.

The part of it that gives me a sexual thrill is the regression part -- the part where I fantasize about being "turned back into a baby" by some means.

When I click on my icon (upper right corner of the browser), or when I click the arrow next to it and select "Profile" from the menu, I don't see my profile; instead, I see an error page that says:

Especially if I'm making lots of maneuvers I keep both hands on the wheel -- the only exception is if I'm driving on the highway and the trip is fairly uneventful.

I keep my cloth diapers on a shelf in the closet in my "nursery" room, and my disposables are on the top shelf up high. My plastic panties are on another shelf. My "training panties" (which are really just one-piece pull-on cloth diapers) are in a dresser drawer in the regular bedroom, because before I went to 24/7 diapers, those were the only underwear I had been wearing for several years, and I haven't gotten around to switching things around.

Of course, you (and your wife) know what a diaper sounds like, while most people wouldn't necessarily. Maybe we have an extra sense.

Whew! I'm glad you and your Daddy are OK! I didn't know who on DD lived there if anybody. I had heard from people at work about Joplin, MO and the tornadoes, and I saw something about it on the news before our own severe storm stuff started happening and they only talked about that. (No tornadoes here but some strong winds and downed tree limbs.)

I don't think you need to look any further than the fear-mongering news media, constantly scaring people with stories about SARS, MRSA, bird flu, swine flu, or whatever the latest outbreak du jour is. They've figured out that fear sells, so every news outlet is trying to scream louder than the next about how scared we should be about everything, including diseases. And don't get me started about non-disease health scares like BPA, lead paint on toys, cadmium in jewelry, thiomersal in vaccines, radiation from cell phones, or fluoridation in the water impurifying our precious bodily fluids. They've got people who don't know bacteria from viruses running around trying to sanitize themselves and their children before the invisible bugs come to kill us all.

Prefacing this with the disclaimer that of course I don't know Stanley Thornton and can't read his mind ... I think he's freaking out because he's worried that Senator Coburn will use political pressure to make sure his disability payments are cut off. We're not talking about one of the regular evaluations that happen every 3-5 years; we're talking about an extra, outside-the-norm evaluation that a US Senator has requested, mentioning Stanley specifically by name, as a political move. If Stanley's disability gets cut off as a result of this reevaluation, the Senator can claim victory against "wasted taxpayer money," so the only question is how many strings Coburn will pull to make sure that happens. I think Stanley's fears are justified. I'd be pretty nervous if a US Senator, or anybody else with that degree of political power, targeted me specifically by name. Wouldn't you?

I care. I want him to be OK. I would hope that others would want me to be OK, if something happened to me. We have to watch out for each other, or who else is going to? As much as I hate Internet abbreviations, QFT. You are totally right, Leilin. I know barely anything about Stanley or Sandra. I'm not in a position to judge. That's why I'm not expressing an opinion about whether he should or shouldn't be on Social Security. I don't have the knowledge of the situation or medical/legal expertise to decide that. At this point I'm assuming that statements from doctors have shown, to the satisfaction of somebody from the SSA, that he is unable to hold down a full-time job, because they're the experts and have the knowledge, and I'm not and don't. If I were to make conclusions based on the information I have, which is almost nothing, those conclusions would be unsupported and invalid.

I was told today that the segment was about 15 minutes long, and I appear only to have seen some sort of 5-minute edit of it; I didn't know there was a longer version. The 5-minute version doesn't mention Social Security. I apologize for not having all the information. I still haven't seen the full segment, but until today I thought I had.

I agree with Bettypooh too -- a very positive response amid a sea of negativity. By supporting him we support ourselves. Also thanks to sarah_ab for some useful facts about the Social Security system that I certainly didn't know. It's too easy to armchair-quarterback and say, "Oh, he doesn't really look or sound disabled; he should get a job," just like Senator Coburn. Way too easy. But the fact is that unless you know Stanley personally, you don't know what his life is like, and unless you're a doctor who has examined him, you don't know how disabled he is or isn't. Do I know these things? No. And unless you're his friend or a doctor who's examined him, neither do you. But the more negative posters on this thread are at least expressing their real feelings -- Senator Coburn stands to gain politically by making an example of Stanley and possibly Sandra, which raises the possibility that he doesn't really care about saving taxpayer money at all, just about making a bit of political hay at Stanley's (and our) expense. Diapered Jason, Senator Tom Coburn is a member of the US Senate, a Republican from Oklahoma. It's quite possible that the letter he sent to the SSA could get Stanley's case reevaluated. Bettypooh, I've seen several people wondering why the Senator was watching "Taboo," but if questioned about it he could always say that he only watched that segment after some alert voters brought it to his attention. He probably doesn't have much time to watch TV anyway. Stanley may have been advised not to go through with the TV show, but the fact is that he did. And other than the Social Security issue, I think he did a good job. Not too many people would probably have noticed this if it hadn't been for a meddling Senator, but again, what's done is done. So, for the moment, to a certain number of people, Stanley Thornton is the face of adult babies everywhere. What do we do now? The challenges: Stanley's living what some see as a profligate lifestyle on Social Security. People are already pumped full of stories of "Welfare queens" who drive expensive cars they bought with taxpayer money. Stanley and Sandra are overweight, and there's a tendency for outsiders to blame that on the person -- "they're eating too much." This despite the fact that about two thirds of Americans are either overweight or obese (according to WebMD, Reuters and others). The program tried hard to portray Stanley as a normal person, perhaps too normal, as it showed him walking out and about, going out to a lumberyard, and drilling holes in wood, and it didn't mention any of his disabilities (it didn't mention that he is on Social Security, either). I understand he's at least partially incontinent, but the program just said he wears a diaper, implying that it's 100% by choice.

I just wanted to say a few things, and I'll try to avoid saying things that others have already said. The Washington Times is owned by the Unification Church. Yes, that's Reverend Sun Myung "I am Jesus" Moon. Don't expect unbiased journalism there. Senator Coburn is the one getting Social Security here. I'm betting he's going to cost the government more taxpayer money investigating Stanley Thornton than it would ever save by cutting off his disability checks. And meanwhile he's making political points with his supporters, something he should be spending his reelection campaign money to do instead of taxpayer money. Fortunately it looks to me like "Tom Coburn vs. Adult Baby" is mostly being played for comedy value, so it will probably make him look silly rather than bathing him in the "Crusader against Waste" limelight that he obviously wants. Unfortunately, apparently all we're good for in the public eye is derision. Even here, I'm seeing people assuming that just because he has a nursery bedroom with a crib and a highchair and whatnot, that means that he's living high on the hog. I don't consider myself rich, but I have some AB clothes that weren't cheap -- because I saved money to get them. If you're disabled and can't work, what are you supposed to do with yourself -- sit alone in an empty room looking out the window all day? I'd imagine you'd probably want to do something you like, so you can at least still get some enjoyment out of life. Being an AB doesn't have to be that expensive. And why is it that he's being attacked for wearing diapers, especially here of all places? If somebody's disabled and incontinent but not an AB, is it a crime for them to get diapers with their disability check? It may not have been wise for Stanley to go on TV and call attention to himself while having a bio on his website that states that he's on public assistance. But he did a brave thing. Have you done anything that brave lately?

I'd agree with LuvsGirl -- unless you're in a very quiet environment, nobody can hear your diaper crinkle if they're more than a foot or two away -- maybe not even if they're close, depending on how much ambient noise there is. Even if they do hear it, they're not going to leap to the "diapers" conclusion. If they notice it, they'll just assume somebody nearby has a plastic bag or something. But most likely they won't even notice it, because a crinkling plastic sound isn't an unusual sound. If your diapers sound like a ringing gong or some other attention-getting sound, that would be different, but as it is, don't worry.
