An important implication of that was that if they wanted to have me around, they needed to stop trying to manage my life. If your mother won’t stop nagging you about the kind of underwear you want to wear, make it clear that you will spend much less time around her. If that’s not possible for example because you’re still financially dependent upon her, it’s time to become financially independent so that you can live the adult life you want and need to live without her harassment. You’re a grown man. So start acting like one.

I experienced a surgical mishap when I was 14 years old in 1956. After surgery, I bled excessively, developed a nearly fatal infection, and was in hospital for about three months. I eventually recovered fully except that bladder control has been permanently impaired. I’m a sometime bedwetter and may lose control of my bladder during the daytime if I can’t get to the bathroom reasonably quickly when I need to urinate. Thus, I’ve worn a diaper nightly for many years and when I know I’m going somewhere where a bathroom might not be readily available.

Repeatedly getting UIs is a somewhat worrying sign that you may have a serious underlying condition. In that circumstance, seeing a urologist is not wasting the medical specialist’s time. I think you’re right that you are likely to receive a prescription for one or more drugs to treat the condition. The urologist is also likely to want to do tests to try to find out whether the UTIs that you’ve experienced are symptomatic of a possibly serious underlying problem. I suggest that you have the recommended tests done and then take any prescribed drugs. Getting help with the symptoms of an overactive gladder need not stop you from wearing diapers if that’s what you want to do.

I have urge urinary inontinence. I always wear a diaper to sleep in; and I wear during the day whenever I am going to be anywhere where I might not be able to get to a bathroom within a few minutes when an "urge" arises.

I was not a nightly bedwetter as a kid. However, from about ages 5 to 7. I had persistent rheumatic fever and sometimes wet at night if I was running a fever. Then, when I was 14 years, I had surgery after which I was in hospital for almost 3 months as a result of excessive bleeding and a systemic infection that almost killed ne. That episode in my teens caused permanent nerve damage the adversely affected my bladder control. I have not been reliably dry at night since then and have urge incontinence if I can't get to a bathroom quickly when I feel the urge to urinate.

I wear to bed and whenever I'm somewhere where I can't get to a bathrooo quickly when needed. So when wearing a diaper, I typically sleep or do whatever needs to be done when I'm not at home.

If your goal is to be diaper dependent, I hope that you are able to achieve it. I also hope that what you experience afterwards is what you hope for. My experience is that wearing a diaper places limits on social life and is very expensive.
