Tony1988 Posted December 1, 2024 Posted December 1, 2024 Has anyone ever had to explain to family if they had been caught that they wear diapers for enjoyment only not for incontinence or have you purposely told certain family members just to get it over with. I’m contemplating this because my kid is gonna be 17 and I think he knows I wear but he won’t say anything. How could I approach this. If I get through this hurtle then I don’t have to hide my diaper wearing in the house anymore
Snugglebear_69 Posted December 1, 2024 Posted December 1, 2024 Your 17 year old son probably isn't saying anything because he doesn't want to know about his dad's kinks. Wait a couple of years until he moves out of the house and then you can do whatever you want. Honestly telling him so you can wear diapers around the house just sounds selfish and putting yourself first instead of putting your son first. 1

I’m contemplating this because my kid is gonna be 17 and I think he knows I wear but he won’t say anything. How could I approach this. If I get through this hurtle then I don’t have to hide my diaper wearing in the house anymore So I went through something like this a few years ago now; I wear 24/7 but was steadfastly keeping it from my teenaged kids (my wife knew). Then, my wife decided it was time for my younger daughter to do more chores, and she assigned her the task of emptying the trash cans... and I had just left a diaper in the garbage can in our bathroom, and was planning on emptying it momentarily, but my daughter beat me to it. She found the diaper, and thought it belonged to my wife, which was hilarious, in its way, but my wife didn't see the humour in it, so I had to "confess"... but what I shared was very limited. I agree with @Snugglebear_69's contention that nobody wants to know about their parents' kinks, and, it's not fair to put that on a kid who hasn't figured out who they are or what they like or don't like - it could be very confusing, it could be weaponized, it could create a rift between you at a time when your son needs guidance and good advice. The conclusions he draws about it, good, bad, deviant, indifferent, will not be under your control, and they could create a chasm between you. I didn't say, "Hey, daddy gets a kick out of dressing like a toddler under his clothes...". I leaned into a "This is necessary for physiological reasons" explanation, and then downplayed the seriousness of it so that she didn't fret about me being secretly ill or something. It helped that she had been a champion bedwetter for most of her childhood, and I had long ago told her about my childhood history of wetting until I was in the 6th grade, and wearing diapers to bed - I wanted her to know that it wasn't her fault, it was genetic, and there was nothing to be ashamed of. So, with her and I already sharing that history, it was fairly easy to say "And now I just feel more comfortable if I'm wearing protection... don't worry about it, this is specific to me and not something you'll likely have to contend with." She also understood that just as her wearing pull-ups was something we didn't discuss with her friends, for example, so it goes that obviously, it would be preferable not to go tell everyone that your dad has to wear diapers. So far, I think this approach has been successful - I'm friends with most of her friends' parents, and I haven't had any feedback that suggests she's made this a topic of conversation. But, you never know - that's something you have to live with, going down this road. If you never want anyone to know you wear diapers, you might not be ready to live "a diapered life", because your plans inevitably have to include the possibility that people might find out. Just like you don't plan to ever have a car accident, but, your car has airbags and you have car insurance. It might happen, and the only iron-clad way to prevent it would be not to ever get in a car. My kids knowing that I wear diapers has made some things easier - receiving and storing boxes of them in the basement, being able to relax and not act like I'm at peak security all the time, wearing two layers over them, even when relaxing in the house, etc. However, I still treat my diapers like underwear, and my theory is that kids don't like to see their parents in their underwear, so while it might be acceptable, (or, at least, that horse has left the barn) for it to be "not indecipherable" that I have a diaper on under my pajamas or whatever, at the same time, I have not given myself blanket permission to roam the house dressed like a toddler, because "Oh well, everyone knows...". That would me imposing this on them. Discretion is still called for, if you want to have a shot at having any kind of normal relationship, in my opinion. 4 1

Mine didn’t see the humor either but I still laughed , my daughter found mine also but she wonder why there was a diaper in the garbage that had bears on it . I’m slipping in my older age. I explained to my daughter parents have private lives and she needed to stay in her own lane. Privacy and boundaries need to be respected at all times . My son has a baby blanket he still sleeps with , do I suspect ageplay in him? Maybe but that’s for him to figure it out on his own.The internet is full of information, monitoring from a distance and decide when to step in when needed. These kids nowadays have it easy compared to my generation with finding information. I mean diaper pail friends and the other guy understand infantilism I found on AOL ! 1

Young1 Posted December 4, 2024 Posted December 4, 2024 I would just tell him your getting older and sometimes it's needed, but I wouldn't really worry about it unless he brings it up, they may not even want to know/already know OR in secret has tried one of your diapers while alone..... 2
PoopyDiaperDude Posted December 7, 2024 Posted December 7, 2024 I stayed at a friend's beach home for three days. Each morning my wet and heavy overnight diapers were rolled up tightly and put in the nightstand drawer for me to take with me when I left. Except I forgot them. Near the end of my three hour drive home I remembered. I had to call him and explain, and ask him to throw them out for me. He was very kind and accommodating. We've never spoken of it since. 1
SoakedinTexas Posted December 15, 2024 Posted December 15, 2024 Only you know if your kid is responsible and mature enough to accept the information. I know my kids were told when they were in their late teens, and I never had a problem with them knowing. It made it easier not to hide stashes of diapers or deliveries. But only you know if it is time to let the diaper out of the bag with family or friends.
Dubious Posted December 23, 2024 Posted December 23, 2024 Its medical, can we leave it at that... Its my problem, not yours. 1 1
dlnoir Posted December 23, 2024 Posted December 23, 2024 Not a whole lot to explain most know I wear diapers and for the rest? I do not care just let them think or what dubious said, it is medical. 1
