It seems as if nowadays, your either WAY to the EXTREME Right, or EXTREME Left, and there is no "center" which is a shame. The government CAN and should have SOME secrets, and that is because of security concerns, but government is getting so ridiculous, that I can't seem to TRUST them much, because the FEDS have eroded, and that "Yellow Haired Toddler" has DESTROYED what makes me trust that they will do the right thing(s). Now, all they are doing is saying: "nope nope nope nope nope" to EVERYTHING: reminds me of THESE guys from Sesame Street: They say "yep yep yep yep" and "nope nope nope nope" The party in Control usually says "yep yep yep" The party NOT in Control says "Nope Nope Nope" and nothing gets done. "ULTRA liberal" or "Ultra Conservative." Outside of the USA no one considers the Democrats to be ultra liberal. In Canada The Dems would probably fall closer to the Conservative Party or Bloc Quebecois (minus the separatist issue). Canada's Liberal, NDP and Green Party would all fall much farther Left. From my view up here in Canada....The USA is fundamentally broken at the Constitutional level because its based on a two party system with no room for a third party. You will never grow as a country if the parties become so entrenched their survival is based on not allowing change. 1 Link to comment
rubbersheetmike
I used to consider myself politically progressive or even left wing but as I get older Ive become more conservative. Im totally against censorship or government interference in the everyday lives and lifestyles of ordinary people though so I guess I could be considered libertarian in that sense. I think anybody who isn't considered 'normal' by the standards of society is at risk under any political regime that wants to control our lives. Link to comment
DiaperboyEddie12
I put Conservative as I am a republican and proud of that as well. I do not care to talk about Political stuff as I am sure there would be a good argument between me and the other person. Yes and I agree that on both sides of the street there are people who hate the other side of the street. So I like to keep my thoughts to myself on these matters. Though I will never judge another person for whom they voted for. I am sure they voted for that person for their own reason. And who am I to judge what another person voted on? So I rather keep the peace. 2 Link to comment
saltedcaramel64
Pleasantly surprised to see so many conservative people. I have voted left in the past as a poor 20 something. In my middle age I realise now I was pretty naive about how things work. I like socialist medicine but the amount of financial corruption present in any socialist institution (including healthcare) turns me away from it. Im a big fan of non profit charity. I am very suspicious of government, historically its always the select few leaders that muck everything up and all the little people pay the price. 1 Link to comment

Bonsai
I’m for as little ruling by public authorities as possible and for maximum economic freedom, leaning towards Murray Rothbard’s views. Link to comment
Nyte Kitsune
None of the above, I generally vote along the lines of my moral compass and prefer to leave my options open Link to comment

skizics
I've voted in every election (even the local ones) since I got "The Vote" while I was slogging around in different jungles on the other side of the planet. I was still to young at the time to really understand that being drafted was the same as getting a temporary death sentence with an expiration date but I knew that even my single vote was worth something. So here we are all these years later and I still vote for the best candidate regardless of their Party (or Mine). It may not seem like much but it's worked well enough for the last hundred and fifty years or so. (that's for the Country, not me... I'm just barely seventy) ? Link to comment
eatenbywo1ves
Two people make millions of dollars a year, the first workers has a job in media that has the position that the audience needs to be angry at the second persons audience for their point of view which is of course the second media professional job to explain why they need to angry media worker 1 and their audience. This isn't a joke sadly. Politics aside, at least we got enjoy and live in the peek abdl diaper era. Link to comment
