technomonkey
Hello i was just wondering if any one has this problem? i got a herniated dic from my job and after that i started leaking just enought to go threw the underware long story short i end up get a l5 s1 fusion and now i have more leakage then ever and the pain has not stoped. my doctor will not write me a script for diapers but he did write one for tranquility adult liners. He told me that diapers were for bedridden people only and he did not want to be responsible for diaper rashes end of conversation. Link to comment

rusty pins
If it's just your regular doctor, go to a urology clinic or doctor. Link to comment
technomonkey
My neurosurgeon told me the leakage should go away once i am fused and the pain goes away, that was back a year ago. so now i have a failed fusion. i go see see a orthopedic surgeon that specializes in fail fusion in Sept. then I go see a urologist in Oct. I have alway been a DL but would wear on weekend or when ever i had the chance but now needding them 24/7 is getting a little costly. Link to comment
Bettypooh
I am certain that my increasing SI is due to my deteriorating back structure Sadly, when mine goes there's not enough left to fuse back- that will lead to rapid failure above and below the fused section, and they can't fuse the whole thing together I've been told by several experts that my future includes disability because of this and it's just a matter of when, not if I'm doing what I can to keep that time as far away as possible and I would not be surprised if the L4-L5 area were affected then bringing me full-blown incontinence. You can't always want what you get but at least having to diaper won't bother me when I get it- I'm already doing that now Link to comment

Baby Brian
My problems are centered around my L7. I was in a bad car wreck 17 years ago and have been living urge incontinence ever since. My wreck was so bad that my back actually went unnoticed. About 7-8 years later (after my legs healed enough) I started having real problems and herniated my disc. I then started to get misaligned sacroiliac (hip/back) problems and found a chiropractor to look at me real good. He said my L7 disc showed long term degeneration, was misaligned, and pinching my spinal nerves just a little. Go figure. Link to comment
Dill_Pickle
Hey Betty...you should be on Calcium and Vitamin D so your body absorbs the calcium... Link to comment
Bettypooh
Thanks Dill Pickle, but I'm ahead of you on that I take 2000 mg of Glucosamine, a full dose of Chondroiten, a full dose of D and E, double C, and Calcium daily already. I do specific back exercises and sleep on hard surfaces. Done it for years to keep the monster at bay for as long as I can I feel like a pill-head every morning even though they are not really 'drugs' Link to comment
sarah_ab
umm an L7?... some people have a congenital L6, but it goes L1-5 than S1..... weird... never heard of someone having an L7 Link to comment
Baby Brian
Well..at least that is what I remember but I could be wrong. I can certainly point to the spot on my back that hurts. I suppose that's why I'm not a doctor. I may know what it feels like but I don't know all of the terminology, names, and drug interactions. Link to comment
