Guest littlesissy
What is the desire to be a collector of porn (any type of porn), anyway? Why do you want to keep any of this stuff on your computer? It will be found by someone sooner or later. They will take whatever type of porn you have out of context. It will be bad for you. Link to comment
Dirty Diaper/Maxipad Lover
I have mixed feelings about this. Everybody gets a bad file once in a while. I've occasionally downloaded ZIP files with hundreds of pictures in them. I never get the chance to go through everyone one of these files in one sitting. If I find a file that shouldn't be there though, I delete it and avoid downloading files from that source again. Occasionally though, I'll temporarily throw the offending file into a new folder while I'm actively going through the files from the archive to make sure that there aren't anymore like it. (I've also reported stuff to law enforcement before and wouldn't hesitate to do so again.) As soon as I get out of my chair though--even if I'm not done going through the downloaded material--I securely delete the temporary folder. The difference here is that it sounds like the guy in the article had been hanging onto the temporary folder for multiple sittings. I get the point of the folder, but this guy should have deleted it the second he got up from his computer. Link to comment
ListeningToTunes
[pointing a camera toward a child] This sounds like a really outrageous reason to accuse someone of being a predator. Taking a picture of children in their natural habitat (e.g. a park playground) shouldn't be grounds for suspicion that a photographer is a pedophile. Anyone making this kind of accusation is clearly crossing the line from protection to paranoia. (Now if the photographer is trying to hide the fact that s/he has a camera, there might be an argument here.) I brought this up because I once had a camera impounded by the police after being accused of photographing an unclothed child--with a cellphone, and I didn't even have a cellphone with me. Nothing came out of it (gee, why not?), although I should have forced them to get a search warrant, and will if this ever happens again. Another time I was examining garbage and litter on the ground at a public event and didn't understand what the deal was when an entire squadron of officers detained me for several minutes: I had been suspected of predating a young girl, or stalking or something. Seems to be yet another case of so-called "profiling": male--strike; around middle-aged or later--strike; not with companions--strike. And if they found out the following: used to go to D********d a lot--strike; isn't or hasn't been married or had a partner--strike; not being sexually active--strike... yep, must be a Pedo! Sometimes it's like going through life with a target on my back. It's probably a matter of time before I get falsely accused again. Back in the day, like around after high school, I was thinking of getting involved in children's creative theater on the production side of things. Nowadays, now way: I have little choice but to consider consider children summarily off-limits--for my well-being. Link to comment
WBDaddy
If you are even considering images of children to be porn, this MAY indicate that on some level, conscious or otherwise, you are attracted to children. People scream PORN! PORN! at what offends them the most morally, and turns them on the most physically. Link to comment
Eir
This is a very poor logical position to take. Link to comment
WBDaddy
I wrote this assuming a personal definition of porn. Link to comment

redneck diaper boy
I have kids and grandkids. I would never post pictures of them on a public site. Why would any parent take photos of unclothed kids? Link to comment

TenaMaxiMan89
This is why I'll only download directly from sites like DiaperGal or ABHunnies. $20 every few months isn't a big deal, and the websites specifically say all models are 18+ at the time of photography, so there's nothing to worry about. ausdpr
I only just looked into this, and found out that this guy went to jail for 5 months, which I think is complete hysterical bullshit for somebody who isn't a paedophile and was just mass downloading. Not to mention that his life is now ruined with a child porn charge and jail term hanging over him. I've deleted my gigatribe account and uninstalled the program just in case, because I have accidentally downloaded a few risky things which I immediately deleted, but I don't hold much hope that Australian law would be any more honest or mature on this than Canada's.
