Rockies Fan in Diapers
Hi Everyone, I am wondering once you have used your paci at night while falling asleep, do you become dependant upon them in order to fall asleep every night, or can you still fall asleep without your pacifier if need Be? Mischa
i CAN sleep without my binky but since I am a snorer, I sleep better with it in. If I don't sleep with my binky in for most of the night, I will wake up with a raw throat, since my throat seems to have gotten used to not vibrating with my snoring. I am a binkiholic, but I am NOT stopping, I will go to my grave with my binky in--I'll put it in my will if need be >.> oh and GO BREWERS!!! Link to comment
clothbaby
I use my MAM nightly and ususally 3-4 hours or until I wake up wet. I used to be a thumbsucker till age 12 and now it is a paci. Link to comment

diaperedspirit
It is much harder to get to sleep without my pacifier and the quality of sleep is greatly diminished. Link to comment
Rockies Fan in Diapers
Hi Everyone, i appreciate the responses of those who have responded so far, & in my own experience, I have to say that I agree with all of you. I always wake up in the morning with mine out, but I would agree that I have been sleeping better with a Pacifier. Thanks a lot, Rockies Fan. Link to comment
Marshmallow
I used to sleep without my pacifier and i'd get a good nights sleep, 95% of the time undisturbed so i'd sleep right through, wake up feeling refreshed and awake the next morning, i had a really good routine (if you could call it a routine) , that was before i had my pacifier. ive had DL tendancies since i can remember from being young, but its only since ive grown older that ive been able to act on them - such as buy nappies/diapers (im from UK!) and to be honest ive never been happier! i started getting the feeling that i wanted a pacifier one day, and a short time later i ordered one of the internet. i was quite happy with my paci during the day, but at night when i was using my paci i'd get a restless nights sleep, waking up repetitively, getting a bad nights sleep on the whole. i'd always lose my paci out of my mouch by the time i woke up - maybe i'd lose my paci and then because i'd lost it, subconsciously my body decided it was time to wake up to find my paci? i duno, seems feasible since this happens to most babies who use pacifiers at night. (when id lose my paci i would find it in the bed somewhere and put in back in then fall strasight back to sleep) after about a week of this i started getting full nights of sleep like i always used to get. id hardly ever lose my paci and i'd wake up in the morning with it still in. after that, ive rarely slept without my pacifier, but the nights that ive not used my paci have been restless and waking up every couple of hour or so. so now i use my paci every night and i get much better sleep, and i feel much better in the morning for sleeping with my paci. i feel theres a small difference between my sleep before and after my paci, but the transition time between using and stopping using my paci definitely affects my sleep. i feel i get a better nights sleep with my paci, but if i lose it during the night i do usually wake up - although i hardly ever lose my paci anymore. i duno if its becasue i actually LIKE using a pacifier or its just been a long time since ive slept for a long timefame without my paci that i feel i get better sleep. im not sure but theres one thing i know. there's few feelings as good as sucking on my paci and gently falling asleep. oddlynappied
I was totally dummy-dependant for a while and the NUK5 was a lifesaver as it was fr less likely to fall out. Im not dependant on it now but still enjoy it. Link to comment
Tadpole
I was totally dummy-dependant for a while and the NUK5 was a lifesaver as it was fr less likely to fall out. Im not dependant on it now but still enjoy it. Me too: delibrately started using a dummy in my 30s and became a habitual user at night. I could sleep without it, but would miss it and for a few years it was just a normal part of bedtime. I broke the habit to see if it was possible - it was and I don't often sleep with it at the moment. I sort of miss the fact that I don't need it now, more than I actually miss it. Link to comment
missyD
Couldn't find my paci last night before bed and had a horrible night.... found it this morning, but the damage had been done. Yes, I certainly do need my paci to sleep, whether it is my afternoon nap, or at bedtime. Link to comment
curiositykilledthecat
I don't need it to sleep, however I sleep better with it. Link to comment
precious_lil_suga_angel
*Anything can become an addiction if u become dependent on it* Personally, wouldn't trade my pacifier in for no thing in de world! And...U don't have to be a baby to experience the enjoyment of a pacifier. Thourally Theraputic!!!! Luv it! ***babygirl precious**** Link to comment
Eir
Okay, I do not want to gross anyone out here: If I was to start sleeping with pacifiers, I would be concerned about it falling to the side of my crib. Everyone in my appartment complex has had problems with cockroaches. I do not want to share a pacifier with anything that has six legs and a shell on its back, which is probably why I do not use them. Link to comment
