My Crazy Weekend!

Recommended Posts

I usually go drinking with my friends around town on Saturdays getting absolutely legless, Saturday was no exception and I was paralytic by 5pm and for some strange reason I refused to leave the bar so they called the police who came and took me to the police station which I thought was for drunk and disorderly again, I normally sober up in the cells and they release me with a £80 ticket, so around 2am the police doctor comes and asks you questions, does all the blood pressure tests and stuff then they take you back to the cells, anyhow the next morning I'm awake waiting for them to release me thinking they're taking awhile. At around 10am they open my cell door and I'm happy because it time to go home, but the police officer said the doctor wants to see me again then he walks me to the medical room, I turn the corner and was taken aback a little bit, three fricking doctors and a social worker sitting in a cycle staring at me, I was told I'm not in any trouble and they're worried about my mental health because apparently I was mumbling some strange things when I was at the police station. I'm like WFT......

They start asking me loads of questions about what school I went too and if I've ever self-harmed, I refused to answer all there silly questions and just looked at the floor not making eye contact with any of them, I was taken back to my cell while they talked or something and was soon let out again... I was told I was being sectioned under the mental health act and they can keep me 72 hours because they're worried about me thinking I'm a psychotic and taken to the mental hospital for assessment.

The mental hospital was nothing like I expected and was kinda disappointed, it just looked like a normal ward, was given my own room, everybody was very kind.. I felt more comfortable then out the police station... A short while latter a doctor came in with a big assessment form thing and asked me all the questions, I wanted to go home and being more comfortable answered him truthly thinking if I say anything wrong he can keep me... Anyhow in the police cells I was observed flicking my fingers at the light trying to block it out through boredom and with the mad mumbling they thought I was seeing things.

So I was looked away the whole weekend at the local mental hospital for observation, I felt like I was being watched all the time but gave them nothing so they had to let me go... Pretty cool experience really, I wish I was wearing nappies that day.

I am very weary of medication, they can cause more problems than they solve. The benefit claims by the pharmaceutical industry are stretched.

We all have problems really, every one of us, but if you are honest with yourself you know how severe your problems are; more than any doctor can tell you.

This deserved to be quoted for truth. "First do no harm" seems to be a forgotten oath in today's capitalist world.

Seriously... look into the booze consumption.

I had MY whack-against-the-head experience a month or so ago. The big band I'm in was playing a gig and we got free booze. Whisky. Straight. And lots of it. I made it through the gig (thank Ghu I didn't have any solos at the end!) and luckily I had a ride home. I barely made it up the steps and in to bed.

The next morning I realized I was hitting the bottle WAY too much.

So... now I have ONE glass of wine or beer a night. Lots of fruit juice and tea.

I feel a hell of a lot better.

I'm not going to preach, but...

Totally man! But would be better than the booze for him! The medication I recommend, of course, is Marijuana.

You are misunderstood around here George, but I hate to be your downer, but you may need some help man. Tell me you were at least at the bar with some friends and not by your lonesome? That's not sweet. I too have a slight alcohol consumption issue but I keep it to one beer a day and a bit more on weekends... never gone to a bar to get plastered though. Your weekend needs to be a slap in the face to make you realize one of two things, or maybe its a bit of both: #1 You have an alcohol problem and/or #2 you have some minor psychiatric issues.

We are all a little crazy, its all about managing a balance.

The way you speak so nonchalant about getting hauled off to jail for drunk and disorderly tells us that it's happened way too many times in your life man. Most normal people would take the experience of being arrested as a warning sign that we need to alter our lifestyle habits. You however don't seem to think it's all that serious, which I'd imagine is why they decided to send you off to a mental hospital. I hope you take this experience as a sign that you need to take better care of yourself and not get so drunk you have trouble with the law.

Kido for some people addviseing them to use that one med. is like going from the frying pan into the fire.Telling someone to start smoking grass is showing you have not grown up yet.Because he could be in a lot more hurt doing that then drinking. But he should think about giveing up the booze. And go back and read his post,he says he goes out with friends.

That's because you can totally OD on alcohol, but not pot, right?

Why don't you have a look over here, then come back and let's discuss this issue?

I respect you calling me "kiddo" if you respect me calling you "gramps" lol. Saying its "frying pan to the fire" is a metaphor viable for your "do as your told" generation, however not for our "but why? I'm going to research this and make my own opinion" generation. There have been a few studies citing marijuana as being effective in alcohol treatment. And since he lives in the UK, obtaining it shouldn't be difficult. Really though, its a silly suggestion and not serious. However the old guy who walks limps over a mile to my plaza to ask people for change everyday so he can walk to the liquor store and get himself a bottle would really benefit from smoking marijuana. Same with you gramps. A young guy like me with all these opportunities.. I can't be lazy and regret it later! But you can smoke and reflect on your life and feel euphoric comfort everyday and enjoy all the small things in life in new and amazing self-fulfilling ways. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it.

Of course I haven't grown up yet, I still wear diapers :P. But I agree if you agree that smoking marijuana everyday makes me as 'immature' as someone who drinks a beer or two a day.

Lastly, just cause he went with friends doesn't mean that they didn't leave before he stayed for 1 or 5 more beers. He should try giving it up.

[Once again, my posts are mostly for fun. You won't take me seriously if you don't take yourself too seriously.]

a lot of the these which drug is worse debates would be informative if the authors didn't misspell basic first grade vocabulary. Alcohol and Pot both make you stupid, end of story. If you want proof, guess who you'll never find in MENSA, a stoner or an alcoholic. Joking aside, Goerge, you need to slow down bro.

Its hard to stop drinking when pretty much everybody around here does it, its very much in the british culture, going out to get smashed out ones face every week... I went to my friends house to pick my backpack I left there not intending to drink, he just purchased a nice bottle of fine Lithuanian vodka and offered me a glass which I refused but he kept on insisting saying its silky smooth and just poured me a drink, how can you refuse that? Its hard.

I used to smoke weed and hash all the time, I moved into a flat when I was 17 and the guy that lived next door was the biggest smoker in the village with loads of people socialising at his place bring there little stash, I was stoned everyday, people used to turn up to sell their produce, sometimes magic mushrooms, every month benzodiazepines, Anything really but its an expensive habit to maintain and when your dying for a bong and can't afford it you go as low as to scraping the tar out of the gauze.. I had a fantastic time while it lasted but I only smoke on holiday now, better stuff and cheap...

All in all I enjoyed my little visit hospital.
