I love surveys too much to pass this up, and i'm sorry to the OP, but i cant write my story. It's too long, and i've only told it decently once... and replicating that is extraordinarily difficult.

Ok in reading through moogle's post, i realized there was a qeustion in there, that i have NO idea why the OP put it in, do you get turned on by seeing children in diapers. That to me just screams innappropriate, and i would suggest if anyone answers this survey to completely DELETE that question out. I'm not sure i understand why the large majority of your questions are sexually oriented. Have you been to a diaper party? A diaper party? but not an ab party? what about other ab/dl gatherings? a munch, or a weekend away, i think you need to have more questions about this. What about just "have you been around other ab's or dl's in real life" or "would you be comfortable being an ab around other ab's?" or "would you be comfortable being around other people who were wearing diapers for pleasure?" etc...etc... and then put then under appropriate headings.

Have you changed another persons diaper before (adult or baby)? I object to this question i do not understand why someone having changed a baby's diaper has any place in an ab/dl questionaire, especially one that mentions sexual activities as much as this one!

You could ask, "do you enjoy exhibitionism while in your diapers in the form of video/picture, or life showing?" that would fall perhaps under one of the sexual categories you would make if you organized this survey appropriately.

This question could give the surveyee the impression that it is necessary to hide their diapers from others. if this were put next to the 'do you feel the need to hide your diaper wearing' and then a if you answered yes, do you find it challenging to hide your diapers etc... it might be better.

Honestly i think this depends on many different factors and is a hard question to answer, i mean if you are incontinent and wet in a board meeting, it might be a while, but if you are just sitting at home it could be soon, and some people enjoy being in a wet diaper for a long time, while others do not.

I think like most things in the world there is a pretty even split, its just that because of the harrassment women face in this interest from (not all) but mostly men who have no tact many women are not as active in this community. Also it should be males and females, and then again are you talking biological females or those who also identify as females?

The reason I answered my questions the way I did was, as this is supposed to be for a GRADUATE level research study, you need to be aware of all the confounds and outliers that are going to pop up, along with the ethical issues you may face. You need to be very specific and very clear in what you are asking, and to which population. The survey, as written, would barely pass in one of my undergraduate sophomore level classes I have taken, let alone on a graduate level. Proof-reading aside, by now you should understand how to write up a survey and try to eliminate as many of the confounds and address and/or deal with as many of the ethical dilmenas as possible before putting your survey out there for people to respond.

I do not believe "where do you buy your diapers at?" is a control question. Control questons would be things like age, country of origin, sex/gender, do you like to read?, do you drive ? do you take the bus? And also asking the same question but it in a different way to see if people are making up the answers or are truly being consistant. However, I see nothing of the sort in here. There was no question asking people's actualy chronological age, even just a simple, what year were your born in, or are you between 18-25 or 26-35 etc… which I would think would be a crucial question to ask.

So I'm sorry, I'm a bit of an academic snob, but I believe if you are going to present yourself as a professional in your field, your written work needs to reflect that. Also, this survey should have been distrubuted in a manner where the results would be entire anonymous, or as anonymous as possible, there are many many webistes where this could have been accomplished.

Is your focus to be on adult, teen, child, or infant behavioral psychology.

Since most of us will claim diaper use for security and comfort, I suggest you look

at the trauma of toilet training.

I have been reading this with interest. I share others observations that this survey looks bogus. As surveys go this is about as bad as any I have ever read. The data will be nearly impossible to collate and manipulate. I doubt that any time was spent with a faculty advisor on the crafting of the survey or expected data to flow from it. My guess is that this was crafted by a voyeur looking for kicks... (and my email ends in .edu)

Im not sure if I agree with the fact that its bogus, but I do agree that the survey in its current form is too general of a document, asks too many questions, and allows too many answers to be free form. One or a few of these would be allowable (for example, a few questions largely free answer, or many questions with set answers), but the focus needs to be seriously narrowed. Also, there is no real way to verify the data without real names, addresses, etc.....it wouldn't be usable anywhere as a statistical basis for a thesis argument. In addition, there would need to be a waiver form to allow the use of the information or to quote answers in the paper. There are things with this that do make me feel seriously uncomfortable about answering this survey.

I would like to say from the start that I have not read the full survey (just enough to get a general idea of where it was going) so if anything I say seem like I have not read something on there it is most likely because I haven't.

There are a lot of things that are complaining about this survey which seem to me quite understandable, like not using her collage e-mail, I can see why you would want to avoid the questions that may be asked if someone was to read the responses, it is unlikely that she would get in any trouble over it be why go thought the process of getting it ok if you don't have to.

Although I do find it odd how the name of the collage and researcher are not anywhere to be seen as this is stand practice for any one conducting proper research also I would be surprised if someone doing their masters was not a member of the APA so some kind of identification would be nice so you are accountable for any miss use of the data.

I can see good reason for using such a sketchy survey but if you are truly doing this for research (which I would like to believe you are as it would be a very positive thing if you are) you must have put some thought into what method and analyses you are going to use, for a started is this even going to be quantitative or qualitative research or elements of both.

And as I know how hard it is to find anything written about this topic in an academic respected manner I am sure you spent some time searching for background info, could you tell us what you found, just a few authors’ names would do, as I know they are out there.

It is clear why Sarah_ab was unhappy with the question about children in diapers but I can see why it was it there, and if anything it only makes me believe that this survey is for what it is claimed to be for as now one in the AB community would ask that but as it is a commonly healed misconception many people outside of it would. However as much as I can see why it was put in I would agree not it should be taken out and not be in the final study in any way as it is not a true or fair reflection of the community

I couldn't be bothered with it because it's too long winded. Also the OP hasn't been around for some time, so will probably not read it. I also find it difficult to believe that someone in college thinks Your and You're are the same word.

Also, like many of you I don't like some of the questions. The OP says she has an AB friend, but then asks if we like looking at kids? I also think the questions about having pictures//videos of ourselves in diapers are suspicious. Next thing she will be asking to see some.......for her studies of course.

Chalk me up on the side of the skeptical. Having actually finished grad school, and conducted a real survey to do that, I feel pretty confident that this is not going to be used in any class or for a thesis. You don't just make up a survey and throw it out there... your adviser looks it over and you talk about it.

This is pretty obviously not a genuine research project for graduate school at any reputable university. If it were, we would be told which university it was and we would see a report from the ethics review panel that had approved the project. Absent those characteristics, it's transparently bogus. Answer it if you want, but be careful what you say.

I honestly can't see any REAL negative impact it will make. I'm not going to give out any personal info, and even my email address was one i only use on DailyDiapers. If they email me and say things like they want pictures or if they want me to tell them more in depth stuff, i probably wont do it. Bogus or not, i dont really see anything wrong with this survey... although lying is never nice. I'd probably get more responses if i just posted my own survey and said like "hey, who wants to take this?"

Also, the only real reason i took it... not for the OP's college study or whatever it was "really" for... i just like answering questions.

I dont see any harm in answering SOME of the questions, my issue is IF this is in fact for a graduate research paper, then the poster needs to go back to UNDERGRADUATE school and take a few classes on how to do a study because this is just atrocious.

My only reccomendation to people choosing to respond is: don't give your email address. The emphasis put on getting women to respond leads me to believe that getting the contact info of diaper loving girls is the main purpose of the "study."

Also "her' IP address does not resolve to a University, but to a local cable provider. it also matches an IP used by another member on this site.

I'm not surprised that the OP's email address matches another member of this site. As for answering the questions, I wouldn't do it because this person is a liar. I might have answered most of them if they were just posted by a member. Just my opinion though.
